I went into White Off the Rack with photos of a dress that I fell in love with at another store. They said they could order me a new dress in that style and I said yes. When the dress arrived and I went to try it on and pick it up, it was HUGE. I could take handfuls of lace on the sides that would need to be removed. I expressed concern to the stylist about how large it was and she said "alterations can work wonders and will be able to fix it." I trusted her and took the dress home. I went to alterations and spent $1,000 on just alterations trying to get it to fit. At the end of all of this, the integrity of the dress was ruined because alterations couldn't get it to the correct size. I ended up going to the original store that I found my dress at and they sold me a sample so I would have something to wear on my wedding day. I wrote to White Off The Rack and described my horrible scenario that I went through at the store. The owner called me and said "I wish you would have said something before alterations because we could have taken the dress back." I did say when I picked up the dress that I was not happy and it was huge. They said to get alterations done anyways! Honestly I feel like I was duped. I spend $3,000 total on this dress that I can't wear and the only thing that the owner suggested is that I try to resell it. I told them that I was not happy with the fit and they told me to get alterations done. Once alterations are done they can't take it back. I do not recommend this store to anyone. I spend $2,000 on the gown and $1,000 on alterations and they are not compensating me at all. They should have agreed that the size was too big when I did my try on and not told me to get alterations. I feel that was their way out so they could wash their hands of me and say I altered the dress so they can't take it back.

Let me say, my experience is that this store should not be visited until major improvements are made! I was a bridesmaid for a bride who purchased her wedding dress at this place. I can't speak for her experience with that. She chose Beratti for us to purchase the bridesmaids' dresses because of the discount she was promised. Apparently, once Beratti has your wedding dress money, they no longer care about the kind of service they provide. My friend had picked out the bridesmaid dresses that she liked in advance. When we arrived for our appointment, they stalled us for twenty minutes because they lost her paperwork. It was never found. So we started from scratch. No particular salesperson helped us. Us girls just kind of pulled stuff off the racks ourselves. We asked for a dressing room, and all of us had to use the same one. We had to ask for them to provide the clips that help close the dresses when they don't fit right. It seems like we had to ask for everything. We were told that they had too little staff and too many appointments. Ours was made six weeks in advance. There is no excuse for overbooking and ignoring clients. When the decision was made on the dresses, they came to take our measurements. We individually went to the front to make our payment. On the form it says that you can put 50% down - but do not be mislead, that is only for wedding dresses. In a smaller font further down from the fine print the form says something along the lines of: "But not bridesmaids dresses. Those you have to pay 100% up front." When I asked the clerk (who I think was also the owner) she told me that she has to protect herself because when brides cancel their weddings, she loses the money because she has to pay to the manufacturer. I'm not stupid. I know there is such a thing as mark-up. And I know of many other boutiques that only require 50% down, so this excuse did not work on me. When the dresses came they were way too small. My friend, who is teeny tiny, couldn't fit into another girl's size 14 dress. This causes a huge problem for alterations - it's not like they're too big and can be taken in. Needless to say, we won't be giving Beratti any more of our money anyways.

It never seemed to be crazy-busy, which allowed us to spend as much time as we needed to. However, my frustration with Beratti began when I had made several trips to their store with each of my bridesmaids (I wasn't able to schedule a mass outing due to my maids' schedules) and had selected a style of dress the girls all agreed on. The girls were measured and put down their deposits. Whew. Another task off the list! The next day, I got a call from Beratti stating that the dress the girls selected and ordered had actually been discontinued. I didn't really understand how this could happen, with everything being computerized....the craziest part is, the owner was the one who filled out the paperwork with all the girls! Needless to say, we had to schedule another day (or, couple of days) to go back into the shop to pick out a new dress that worked for everyone. When it came time to pick up the dresses, we had called to make an appointment for Sunday (as that was the only day all my maids were available). The appointment was made - I think for 10:30AM, when, in actuality, the store doesn't open until 11AM. It was the girl on the phone who had offered me the 10:30 appointment! We waited outside for a half hour. When we finally got in for the girls to try their dresses on, the dresses were wrinkled beyond belief....it was like they were literally pulled out of a box. The fit worked for most of the girls; we each made arrangements for alterations elsewhere, but the sizes were close to what they had been measured for. When I went back to pay for and pick up my bridal gown, I did talk to Mary, the owner, with whom I had other conversations with throughout the 8 months I shopped there. I'm an honest person who's not afraid to confront a problem, and know that in most cases, you can't improve your business with what you don't know. She appreciated my comments and apologized for the trouble that I had during the whole process. She said she would be talking with her staff to improve the processes within the store. My wedding was at the end of August 2011, and I can only hope that this store with great potential, has cleaned up its act.

I was greeted the minute I walked in the door and was assisted by 2 sales associates - a gentleman who appeared to be in charge and a young lady by the name of Cheyenne who was in training. Both of them were so helpful and I was able to order everything that day for the groom and groomsmen in less than an hour. The next time I went to this store (a month after my first visit) with my fiance for his fitting Cheyenne was again working and remembered me immediately and assisted us on her own with the fitting and was able to answer every question we had - very impressive considering she was still fairly new- and in such a pleasant, friendly manner!! I again had to visit the store a week later as we had a change in groomsmen and wasn't sure how to do it. I walked in and immediately was greeted with a warm welcome and there was Cheyenne ready to assist and again was able to make all the changes I needed quickly and efficiently as if she'd been doing this for years - it's such a relief as a customer knowing you have someone to service you who knows what they're doing and is on top of everything - having been in customer service for over 10 years myself I have no doubt Cheyenne's abilities along with her personality will continue to be a great asset to the Greenfield store!!!!

But after going to several professional outings, and never being able to find the right dress when the time is near, I've been led me to Express to peruse for the perfect ensemble while I have the time to look. I ended up buying 4 dresses and originally I was only going to buy 2, but one of the sales people told me to check online for a coupon and that I could use it on my purchase today. All the sales people were really helpful and professional, and thanks to Mr. Coupon I left very satisfied with 4 dresses instead of 2. Pretty much one can never go wrong with dresses and jeans from here. I've had tops in the past, and while most are pretty and well made, I'm not a fan of their regular tees, they fit really awkwardly. I will definitely be back, maybe even later today, because I do need a new pair of jeans too.
