I got my bridesmaids dress tailored at Anna's and everything was super easy/smooth! First, I tried calling and was told that I was just able to walk into the store without an appointment (score!). When I walked in, I navigated my way to Anna's and was seen immediately. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Anna was very detailed in fitting my dress and making all the alterations needed for it to fit perfectly on my bestie's wedding day! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I already had my dress custom-done and really just needed Anna's to hem the bottom. However, she found other adjustments that could be made and it ended up costing me over $100 to have it all done. I do think it is worth the money, but just know that she is an expert and will hem/adjust anything and everything that she feels needed on the item you bring in! read more

I just took two pairs of pants to Anna's Tailoring as both needed to be hemmed. It's kind of a unique spot to find as it's down a back hallway in the Knickerbocker hotel. When I entered the seamstress was going back and forth with someone who was unhappy with her work. This was a strange situation to walk into. I sat and waited my turn. She was quick with me but I'm not sure if I just caught her on an off day. Both pairs of pants were really very affordable for her to hem, however, she said she was very busy so the turn around time took 12 days. This is worth considering if you need something even simple done it does take some time. She must be full of business though, and that's great! I got the pants back today and she did an excellent job. This was something I could have done myself, but to save time I had her do it and it was a fair price. read more

I've worked solely with Tanya, a wonderful Belarusian woman. Tanya is incredibly talented, and her prices are beyond reasonable. I had a coat I needed tailored with a 24-hour turnaround, and 4 other tailors in the city estimated $40-$60 extra for the turnaround time. Tanya did it for free. I brought in another piece with an odd tightness under the arms/sleeves, and even with no extra sleeve material, she added similar material of her own and perfectly fixed it. I'm so happy I found Anna's Tailoring!! I'm new to town so I have to help everything! I tried Anna's because her pricing seemed more reasonable than everyone else on yelp. I usually get stuff done at Nordstrom but it's far and pricey!! And to be honest Anna does a better job! Anna's Location is great! Street parking is easy during the day. When you walk into the hotel, turn right (right away) and follow the hallway all the way back until you reach her door. She accepts walk ins. She is fast! Anna is old-world charm and does an expert job. When I first called, I had a hard time understanding. My Belarusian language skills are not up to par, and neither is Anna's English. This was actually a good sign for me since my grandmother was a German seamstress. I would never say she was rude in any way, and if you have trouble with phone conversations, she is great in person, just stop in. Her hours are by far the most accessible from other tailors. All I needed was a zipper repair on my $300 ski jacket. Obviously I didn't want to buy a new one so I went to Anna's and she gave me a 2 week estimate. She was in the middle of doing a bunch of dresses for a wedding. I waited the two weeks and did not receive a call. Though, Anna did give me a concrete date and time, so I called her a few days later and she said it had been ready. I assume that she waits for customers to call her with inquiries to pick up. It cost $45 but the zipper is good as new. My jacket has all welded seams and I'm not sure how she did it, but it looks and works just fine now. If a zipper is around $7, $38 for labor was well worth it, and saved me from buying a new jacket. read more

I brought in two suits to get tailored and, frankly, only one of them was done sufficiently good. My wedding suit was WAY too big - I could fit both my arms easily down the waistline.
