Wonderful restaurant! They've been open for about 6 weeks and we've been wanting to give it a try! First impression, great! We love the casual reclaimed older building decor! Our waitress, Maggie was kind, cheery, gave good suggestions! The bruschetta was possibly the tastiest I've ever had! Caesar Salad 10/10. It's a unique salad with a creamy spin on dressing that was terrific! Eggplant Parmesan was delish, and the Chicken Marsala was absolute perfection! We were stuffed so we got tiramisu to go and promptly dived in the second we got home! Loved it! I've seen others complain about a $4 service charge if you pay with a credit card. If that bothers you, take cash! I highly recommend Bella Roma and suggest you make reservations bc from where I sat I saw them turn away about 6 other groups. We got there a little after five and it was 100% full when we left! Ciao!

I would say it was more of 3.5 stars. I want to like this place. So, I will be back at some point to try it again, but on this first trip, it was very underwhelming. The ambiance was good, and the staff were very nice, but the food was a major let down and not worth the price at all. First up was the olive oil and bread: the texture of the bread nice. But it had no flavor at all, it tasted like it was made from just water, flour, and yeast. No salt, no butter, no flavor. - Then we've got the oil to accompany it. It tasted of cheap oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Lots of red pepper! It was unexpectedly spicy. We ordered the manicotti, and the chicken piccata. The Manicotti ($20) was nice and soft, it almost melted in your mouth, but that was it. The flavor did not impress, and instead just left you unsatisfied. The Chicken Piccata ($26) was described to us as one of the most flavorful dishes on the menu... and it did have some flavor, but if that is the most flavorful, then I am worried about everything else on the menu. It is also the first chicken piccata I have had that tasted like a bland chicken and dumplings, or chicken noodle soup without the soup. Not bad but just "ok".

On this day we went between brunch and lunch so it was quiet. As they were setting up for lunch, a lot of tables had reservations signs on them. So, like I said, make reservations. For our meal we split salmon benedict and the spring salad. When we told them that we were splitting it, they brought it out already split, which was so nice. We never expect or ask restaurants to do that so if they do it's always a pleasant surprise. This place is cool because you can go dressed up but don't feel too out of place if you are dressed down. Although I will say that wouldn't dress down for dinner service. It feels like evenings probably a nicer service. We looked at the dinner menu and plan to go back for it. The food was absolutely delicious 10/10 Drinks 8/10 - I had cupids spritz and my hubby had the spicy carrot margarita. I would get mine again but he wouldn't order his again. There is an abundance of wine to choose from. Our server was rushed (and they were packed) and I didn't get a lot of direction on the wine so I just ordered a white sampler and just asked for three dry varieties. The first one I tried (Collan) was not dry in my opinion. The Triple was drier but my favorite was the Fume. I really got hints of pinion in this final one and ordered another 5 oz. of it. We tried the avocado bruschetta to start. It was four big pieces of good bread but was more avocado toast than bruschetta. I would probably go with a different appetizer next time. We both tried the burgers. I went with the mushroom-gouda one. It was over done and not seasoned at all. The gouda was nice and gooey and the mushrooms were seasoned well. Fries were OK. The table next to us had a couple of the flatbreads and I would try those next time. Back to the service. It was OK but our server had a tendency to just show up at our table and just stand. I would come back to try more appetizers and a flight of their red offerings. I also want to know more about the winery. Maybe after the busy holidays.

Not sure how this isn't the most obvious aspect but apparently it needs to be said. What does that mean? Brace yourself. Well, you order and pay at the counter and there are no servers. (GASP!) I know, it's a shocker. But you have to get your own drink and your own refills. Kitchen staff will bring your food out and they are nice but they are not there to meet your every need. Second, the two people at the counter taking orders were extremely nice and very helpful. We had one in our party with a gluten allergy. The man taking our order was very accommodating and honest about what they had to offer. They even made some adjustments to that order to fit the request. Third, for a mini-restaurant, we enjoyed it. Football games on the TV's, families and friends eating and talking, and the food was good! Perfect atmosphere for the shop setting.

Some people working, some people socializing, but not crowded or loud. It's in the burbs but feels quiet and plenty of parking. Menu- my almond orange latte was truly life-changing. I will be trying to recreate this at home for sure. Not sweet but lots of flavor. The espresso here is excellent, not sour or bitter, very smooth. The blueberry muffin was truly the best muffin I've had in my life, and I do not say this lightly, I am quite picky about muffins. Fluffy and moist, the blueberries were not mushy. And the jalapeno scones was shockingly good and it was even gluten free. It was more similar to a shortbread in texture, which I preferred over a scone actually. Very buttery and tasty, not spicy if you're sensitive to that. It was $17 for these items, so higher than expected, but spot on for unparalleled quality. Friendly service, and very fast. Can't wait to go back, this place is just doing everything right.
