Once upon a time this was my favorite nail salon. The past two times I've gone not only have I absolutely HATED my nails, but no one in the salon seems to care at all. I made an appointment today for dips at 11am with a male nail tech. Ended up with a woman who didn't do anything I asked until the 10th time I asked for the nails to be shorter. Two hours later I still hate my nails but am late for my Mother's Day lunch so I need to leave. Thank you for absolutely nothing then charging me $81 for something I hate. Also when I voiced my complaint I was literally ignored by the man and woman checking me out. Neither I nor anyone I know will ever come here again. So rude, so unprofessional. Ive been going to Bellagio to get my nails done for over 10 years. I feel like it's time for me to give back and give them a glowing review! You walk in and the place is clean and has been updated many times. You definitely get the feeling you are walking into a spa. You are greeted right away and whether you have an appointment or not it is always fast service. I have gone on weekdays, weekends, prior to school events and prior to holidays. With an appointment I am seated immediately and if I walked in for a repair I was seen within mere minutes. The owners and staff are wonderful. They are great with kids as well. They offered "the dip nails" long before any other salons. They are cutting edge. They offer massage and lash extensions as well! I hesitate to tell you how good my favorite people are there.... My latest service wasn't up to their usual standards. For my pedi the water was scalding hot. For my nails I had asked for flat-tip shaped nails and ended up with pointy nails. My old gel wasn't soaked off but drimmeled off which weakens my nails and the water dish to soak my nails was knocked into my lap. I will say my new gel was applied flawlessly thus the 3 star rating. read more

I used to always go to this place but after my last experience I probably will not go here again. I walked in and it was not too busy, I wanted a full set and a pedicure. My nails came off within a week chipping off all over as well as my pedicure. I got a regular gel manicure and got the deluxe pedicure. The lady who was doing my manicure was so demanding.. I couldn't relax.. I felt as if the whole time they were telling me what I'm doing wrong, like "place your hand in further, relax your hand, don't touch your nails until this and this" These rude comments are just unpleasant when you're trying to relax.. Perhaps she could of worded it differently.. Along with not whispering/talking in Vietnamese and laughing. It's amazing how you don't even need to know their language. You can just tell from a person's body language and gestures. I got the assumption and attitude as if she didn't want to be there. Also the lady who did my feet, it looks like she had a look of disgust when she saw my feet and everything.. did not appreciate that. It made me feel like I'm worthless and self conscious. To complete my review, my mom also got fungus from this salon and tried to fight it off for over 5+ years. Instead she just had her toe nails cut off because the fungus just kept coming back. I have tried every nail salon in San Clemente, and this salon is the best in the city. I get the acrylic dip done with the gel top coat. The first time Henry did my nails. The second time Tony did my nails. I have never had a male do my nails but they both did a fantastic job!They do charge a little bit more than other salons ($40) but that extra $5 is worth it to me, to NOT have FUNGUS. It is a VERY busy salon so I highly recommend an appointment. The acrylic that they use seems to be high quality. There are over 200 colors of dip to choose from. They even do designs and sparkles. Not one to write reviews, usually just use yelp to find new places, but I'm upset enough to take the time to write one. I stopped going to Bellagio months ago when one of the manicurists was removing my acrylics by wedging them off my nails with a tool. Normally I'm okay with this (it's not my favorite but I'll deal) but this time he removed then by wedging them off from the tip of my nail instead of the side and ripped the nail underneath and his tool went under my nail causing it to bleed yes it was very painful. I was not apologized to or anything. Today I went to bellagio for a simple gel manicure because I needed to go the the bank next door and figured I'll just run in here, you can't screw up gel that badly right? Wrong. The lady shaped my nails round as my nails are not naturally round but they're now too short to change. My left hand looks fine but she got lazy on my right hand and it looks like I already need to refill them. One nail looks like it's not even growing straight. This place is a dirty nail spa and it's run like a sweat shop. My daughter and I had an appointment and had to wait about 40 minutes before they even worked on us. Why make an appointment then? They rushed us through and did a horrible job trimming our cuticles. They didn't use water or cuticle softener to soften our cuticles. They just filed them off versus pushing them back and trimming them. I went to pay after receiving such horrible service and they were upset that they had to split a $20 dollar tip between 4 people. They were lucky they even got a tip after the crappy service we received. Also, while we were sitting there waiting, a mom brought her daughter back in to get her nails painted from the day before. I just went to get a gel manicure and I'm crying right now, happy tears of course! I sat down and let them know I have a muscle disorder and cant help moving around. The WHOLE time they gave me a massage to help me relax and I didn't ask anything of them. I was given a massage and they talked to me the whole time asking about my disorder and trying to understand it better (which I love). Then we talked about life and had a fun time. At the end I went to pay and they said it was gonna be free because they felt they didn't do a great job because of my spasms. I think my nails look gorgeous! This place is Awesome! I decided to walk in to get a badly needed fill & a change of color. There were quite a few women inside already, so I totally expected a wait. I was actually seated right away & was able to get to business on a new set of nails. Love the peaceful & comfortable environment too :) Side note: I totally don't feel comfortable around the OC crowd, so it hurt my ears to hear so many of them complaining about minor things/being rude to the staff here. BUT that made my experience better in the sense that I was able to fully appreciate the great work they do here & felt comfortable talking to the employees like the humans that they are rather than "servants". I wish I had gotten the name of the guy who worked on my nails! He did a beyond excellent job & I got exactly what I wanted. The arm and hand massage along with the hot towel thing after my nails were done was new to me, but it was so worth it. The nails weren't spectacular but I was happy with the service and the overall attentiveness at this salon. I will say that my friend got her eyebrows waxed and the woman made a comment saying that her eyebrows were uneven. I felt that was rude, but other than that, no complaints. I paid an additional 5 dollars for French which I expect but I also expect it to last longer than 12 hours before it starts peeling . So I went back . They said no problem and put me with the same girl from the day prior (I also didn't mention that the job she did on the lines of the French were pretty sloppy but I just let it go because I don't like to complain , once again) so , hoping she would do better, she sat me down and started taking off the polish but here's the funny part, she was only taking it off to the point where it stopped peeling instead of just redoing it with fresh polish . So I'm sure you can guess now what happened less than 24 hours later, yep, it bubbled peeled again . Unfortunately I had a celebration of life over the weekend and so I couldn't go back and have them fix it again and at this point I don't want to, I just won't ever go back and I certainly won't refer people there either. They charged me for a basic "pedicure & manicure' set off their menu 35.00 AND charged me on top of that for a manicure 27.00 They should have charged me for a solo basic pedicure then for 20.00 of whatever it is on the menu and then the manicure. But they were like snickering while writing up the recept and I just wanted to get out of there because when I asked if they could add a tip they acted like I should have known to have cash because they can't add it to the visa before or after running it.. all the other places I've been in the area can so I didn't have cash (my mistake) and I offered that I would go get some and come back with their tip but they treated me crappy for not having known ahead of time and then I realized they were charging me 15.00 extra for my nails so I didn't return with a tip. They can take what they overcharged me as their tip I suppose. I could have spoken up while there but a business should not try to pull one on their customers like that anyway. Very shady.
