I first stumbled across this place over a year ago when I was pregnant and looking around for maternity shops. While this place is pretty small and the selection is pretty limited, they offer many classes from expecting to new moms to all kinds of classes for babies to toddlers! They also host the local LLL (La Leche League) meeting once a month on Saturdays. Since the pregnancy and now with an almost 1-year old, I've taken the new moms class, the Inchworms class for babies up to 12 months, and Tot Gym for the more mobile babies. I've also bought an umbrella stroller as well as several books and toys. They also have an open gym time for drop-ins and tire out the little one(s) in their small gym. The ladies working there have been amazing and very knowledgeable on the products sold at their shop. I will miss this place when we move away in a few months... read more

I love Bellani!! I joined the grasshoppers class with my daughter a couple years ago and it saved my sanity! The lady that lead the group was educated in child development and gave us advice and had activities for the kids to do. I looked forward to going every week. They had a lot of fun looking other classes but I wasn't able to join. There is also open gym which I brought my daughter to a lot. It's perfect for a rainy or snowy day when you need to get out of the house. They rearrange the toys and put out different items periodically to keep it interesting. They have a punch card that makes each visit slightly discounted. Lastly, they have the store area. This is a little pricey but the stuff they have is really nice. They had a wide selection for the space they had available. They also had a little table where the kids could play with some toys that they sell. One thing that impressed me was they have a donation area. So if you have left over formula or other items you can bring them and put them on a shelf in the back for a mama who might be in need. I absolutely love Bellani. The staff are wonderful and knowledgable. The store is bright, clean, and organized. The store is not just for shopping. You can take classes for moms, for kids, and even just hang out during open gym. You can learn about cloth diapers, developmentally appropriate classes and toys. You can try out carriers, weigh your baby and even have a changing room! Even before the baby arrives their are a ton of great maternity products! I've even gone in with just a simple question and always get an educated knowledgable response to my questions. After having a baby, sometimes I would just go to Bellani to get out with my little one. I have always been treated wonderfully and given a warm welcome! I welcomed all the great advice and information they provided me over the years! I've made friends through the store and know its a safe place to ask for help or information! Brief Line Up Front: If you always move, and are looking for a place to have your little one take classes and get "baby interaction" time this place is great. My wife and I moved to Newport and had our little guy while living here. Since we move every 2-3 years, it is really hard to find places where we can join groups of new moms since we are so transient. This place offers great classes and being the one who works all the time, my wife and son come here and enjoy the classes. Ever since starting the classes (which I do admit a pricey), my son started crawling, standing on his own, and is much more active. I do not know if this is what normally would have happened or part of this class, but on a day off I went with my wife to a class. They really do put your baby through a mini-work out. My son knocked out for 2 hours in the car afterward as we drove around to let him sleep. I'm usually a miser when it comes to spending money on crazy things. However, after going to and seeing the results of the classes, I have already told my wife to sign up for another class when this one is over. I realize most people do not move and have "local family and friends" that have kids the same age so getting "baby on baby time" is easy. However, for those of you like us who go from place to place, this place gives you that same experience. Also, they have a few things to try out which I like to do before I buy things, and I really like that the people are very helpful and kind. Reading the other reviews, I wasn't aware of their return policy issues, but usually for me, I'm such a picky consumer, that what I buy, I don't return because I test a lot of things out first. A great resource for new and seasoned moms alike! They carry everything you can't find at the big box baby stores and the staff (moms like you) is always knowledgeable. Here are some of my favorite things: Cloth diapering - they have an awesome selection of diapers, accessories and diaper specific detergent. Best part is that the staff is experienced using the products on their own kids and have valuable tips. I love coming here. This is one of the few local places that you can find not only cloth diapers, but a selection of different types, several types of detergent (including my favourite, Rockin Green), diaper sprayers, cloth trainers, wipe spray... You get the idea. Beyond that, both owners are very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of each type, making it less daunting for newbies. They're also quite good at troubleshooting common issues that come up. There's a comparatively great selection of nursing mama supplies here, too. They're one of the few places I've seen carrying Bravado's underwired bra. Their nursing room is well appointed, but I've nursed in other places in the store and never felt uncomfortable. One very cool feature they've started offering is a baby carrier lending library, of sorts. As someone with a plethora of carriers, I wish this had been introduced before my daughter decided that she has to walk everywhere. It's great to walk in and have someone actually show you how to properly put on a ring sling or adjust an Ergo. It's also great to be able to try out a few to find out what works before shelling out the money for something that will end up relegated to a bottom drawer. There's a nominal fee for it, but trust me, it's worth it to find something you love. They do offer classes and have an open playtime, as well as provide space for several local groups. While I've never been (classes are early and my daughter sleeps like a teenager), I do know people who've been and loved them. It's worth the drive over the bridge to go. read more

This was by far the most disappointing baby store ever. We walked in. Got an unenthusiastic hi. Looked around the very bare store and listened to a lady yelling about personal problems. It made us both very uncomfortable and we left. No one would want to shop in conditions like that and the selection certainly didn't make us want to stay. Not worth the trip at all. read more

I started going once a week for our hypnobabies class, and immediately became hooked. They are so much more than a baby store. They offer baby yoga, birth classes, mommy and baby groups, birthday parties etc. But the reason I fell in love with Bellani is their customer service. Their staff are some of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met, and are always willing to go out of their way to help. They are great at helping you find products for your lifestyle, sharing tips and tricks on how to use said products, and even have a rental program for their baby wearing gear so you can really try it before you buy it! Even if you don't live near Warwick you should make it a point to visit Bellani. They offer car seat check events throughout the year, so stop in then to have your car seat checked and do some shopping while you're there! You won't be disappointed. read more

My wife and I took a child birthing class at Bellani. I have to say it was very good and at the same time very entertaining! The staff there was very helpful and answered all our questions and even helped my wife with some referrals to help with her pelvic pain. They have some really nice products there, I just picked up a snoogle pillow for my wife to help with her pelvic and back pain. Man what an amazing product, within 5 minutes of her opening it she was so comfortable she fell asleep lol. She loves it and it definately has helped give her some relief. What a great store! Love Bellani! We took the natural birthing class and the itsy bitsy yoga class here and loved them. It's a wonderful place to stop in for cloth diapers, shower gifts, meeting other new parents and advice from the experienced staff/parents. I trust the choices in toys and gear they have here and love how the staff is so knowledgable, honest and just great to talk with. The lactation room is also a clean, comfy, quiet spot to nurse and change baby while running errands in Warwick. There's a glider and changing table. It's especially a nice place to stop by during those first few months as a new mom when I was getting used to traveling with our little one - making the hour drive to see family from one end of the state to the other. My husband and I were big fans of our recent (1st but not last) visit here. We are expecting our son in a couple months and were interested in checking out (ie seeing and feeling) cloth diapers. The staff person (I'm not sure if owner or not) was great. Friendly, informative, not pushy (I'm talking to you Babies R Us, where I was ready to slap someone) and so very helpful! I went into the store for the first time and asked if they could help me with different options for cloth diapers. The two employees behind the counter recommended I take a Two hour class on the subject. I was disgusted that they were not even willing to give me a 5 minute tutorial on the different brands, there wasn't any other shoppers in the store. Shame on them for not having a little patience with a new Mom and possible new buyer for them. I will not be returning, especially considering all the easier stores to purchase from within 10 minutes of their location. read more

Really cute store! A little pricey but they have a great variety of toys and things for moms to be. We went for the open play baby gym, which was great. It was only $8! Our little guy got to crawl around on all the mats, tunnels and slides. He really enjoyed it! They also have a changing/breastfeeding room which I loved! Oh my gosh!! This is the coolest place for expectant moms, new moms and parents of toddlers. I was in dire need of a nursing bra and cover as my newborn caught me off guard by arriving a few weeks early and I wasn't quite prepared. Every store I went to had either not what I was looking for or all i could find were the cheap flimsy ones that woukdnt last a week. I came here after reading such top reviews!!! And boy am i glad i did. I wanted to buy everything! Awesome quality nursing bras and nursing covers, strollers, bottles, green laundry detergent, soft toys.. Overall, A great place for one of a kind gifts. Kelly , the owner , is beyond helpful.. She takes the time to assist you in picking the perfect sizes and items and is so knowledgeable.. I even noticed she has some activities for newborns and pregnant moms. There's a comfy room available if your baby needs a diaper change or a feeding.. I can't wait to come back for some items when my baby gets a tad older. The best best maternity and new mom shop. Highly recommend! The staff is so knowledgeable in almost everything and if they don't have an answer or resource for you, the use their resources to find out and get you the advice of others and professionals. They really do go that extra mile for anyone. My youngest is 6 and I still shop here for items for not only my children but friends and family. The staff never pressures you to buy anything or make a decision based on their influence. They give you information, the good and the bad and they let you decide what is right for your family and will help you and support you no matter what decision you make. They make everyone even the dads feel welcome. Plus thy offer so many different classes for children and adults and they do so all year long with numerous sessions. I have been going to Bellani Maternity since my daughter was 3 months old. She is now 4 1/2. Bellani has the *best* classes for kids. Every Saturday you will find us there enjoying their dance classes led by Miss Sandy who is absolutely wonderful!!! (They have other great classes as well, like art and baby gym.) The store has very helpful, friendly staff and loads of baby/child products for safety and fun. I don't usually review unless I love it, but my wife and I were very disappointed. We live in the Barrington RI area and were attending some classes. We asked about a studio we heard of that did clay prints and they said they would recommend going to one of their events with a company in Dartmouth MA. The pricing was steep, and upon some investigating we found a great place right in Barrington RI. The Barrington Pottery studio is never mentioned and they offer not only clay impressions but you can drop by and paint pottery for gifts or an activity. Not very happy with the customer service. When we asked the shop owner in Barrington they said they have reached out on multiple occasions to the point of being blocked from further contact. In my estimation this isn't very small business helping small business friendly. I'm sure this review will be blocked, but if by some miracle it isn't visit Art by You at Weirdgirl Creations Pottery Studio in Barrington RI. Very helpful and friendly, owned and operated by a mother and two daughters who are all art teachers. I highly recommend them. Needless to say we have no need to visit Bellani and do not recommend them to anyone we know. There are far too many good businesses to share. read more
