My son stopped in to get an alignment after I had replaced the lower ball joints w/arms and struts. (I am an ASE certified mechanic) The tech there said the ball joints were bad and he needed new ones along with a bunch of other stuff. This is not the first time this has happened at Belle Tire. I had brake issues on a camping trip to Hoffmaster State Park. I thought I needed all 4 replaced. Went yo BT and after inspection they found it was only one side on the rear that needed to be replaced. Obviously we replaced both rear brakes and back on the road. Went and had new tires put on, and of course when I go to pick up my car there is a long list of repairs they say I need. I asked them to highlight the major ones, as I plan to buy a new car next year. So he highlights Tie Rod ends, install of that and then a 4 wheel alignment. Take my car back a couple weeks later, hand the guy the highlighted sheet and tell him, I want these items that are highlighted ONLY! When I arrive to pick up my car they have charged me for a 1 year warranty for the alignment! My husband was ok with it, but we were not happy that they added this without permission and also did not follow my instructions of doing ONLY what was highlighted on the sheet. Not ok. I admit, my wife's truck is a bit different than most on the road with 4 wheel independent suspension, but I figured after replacing all the control arms it should be easy enough to get it aligned. I was wrong. Sam the manager told me something was wrong with the new Mevotech control arms I bought and it wouldn't align to spec. He told me that this was "close enough" and I could drive it no problem, but I would have to "rotate my tires more often". I had driven it to the shop on Harvey street with just an "eyeball" alignment I did in the driveway. It seemed a little off but I knew that soon it would be perfect. Well, after they did their "magic" I couldn't go over 30 without serious white knuckle action! This thing was turned into a death trap by the tech at Belle. I gingerly returned the next day to get this remedied and I have to say they did redeem themselves. All green now and truck rides great, but I think Sam should be fired for his negligence. read more

Love this place went to alles tire in Grand Haven and they told me I needed new break pads on all 4 tires. Found that very funny and had a funny feeling they were not being honest to Alles tire so I picked up the car and he told me it was a $30 charge since I chose not to fix it with them. After that I went to Belle tire and they said only the front tires needed new breaks and that my front one still had 45% left of break pads. I will never go to Alles tire again beware - very unprofessional! read more

I purchased four rear tires for my truck and was so satisfied that I went home and picked up my 2013 Camry and had them put two new tires on the front. At the time one rear tire had a slow leak and asked them to fix it. I assumed they did. Well, the leak did not go away. Being it was a slow leak I didn't realize for some time that it was still there. I just keep putting air in the tire whenever the light came on the dash. Evenly the other rear tire also developed a slow leak so at that time I went into Belle Tire and asked them to fix them. I was willing to pay for the service. I was told, they were booked for over a week. To be fair, this service person was not one who I had dealt with in the past. Brought it by as a walk-in and were told it would be 90 minutes and you'd call when done. 2 hours later we decided to stop by to see what was going on. The car was done and no one ever called. I dropped off a flat tire shortly after the business opened, hoping that they would be able to repair it in the next few days (as appointment times are hard to come by now, understandably.) Luckily I had another vehicle I could use in the interim, so I left my car in the lot along with the tire in need of repair. An hour later I received a call that the tire was repaired, and in addition they had rotated my tires. When I came to pick up my vehicle I was told there was no charge! I would have had it in in July if the contagion hadn't complicated things, but I got there in mid-September and there was not a minute's hesitation to deliver on the warranty work, preserving the tires I got in January. This place stays in business due to having little competition in the area. Every time I go there I feel like I am imposing on their customer service. I usually have to get their attention and even then they tend to be some of the most unfriendly individuals. It's clear they are very busy and don't need your business. On the bright side I keep going back because they are reasonably priced and at least get the work done, but I wish there were other better options close by so I could go there instead. read more

They will be happy to tell you how slow it was yester day, but do not believe it sunny, cold, weekday, cloudy, morning, snowing, night time. it's all the same. Dropped my car off for just a 4 hour wait, but still had not been called at over 6 hours. My wife was told just bring your car in Friday night at 6 and we will put your tires on right away at 8:30 I received her call still had not brought the car into the building, mind you this is 30 minutes after they "closed" more than an hour later she was good to go! Considered this place because it had good reviews. However, they came in with one flat tire and the guy tried telling me I needed to buy all 4 tires because the tread needs to be the same, yet my car is four-wheel-drive not all wheel drive. When I insisted on just one tire, he quoted me $111. They then told me they had 10 cars ahead of me so I left. I called back three days later and the guy told me it would be $169 for one tire. When I asked why I was quoted $111 the first time, he tried saying that was a tire that needed to be ordered. Everyone I talked to thought that was extreme and that they're probably taking advantage of women customers. So women...unless you have a guy with you, don't go here!!! I received great customer service! I made an appointment for an oil change and they got me in at my appointment time. I sat in their lounge and watched Ellen and enjoyed the free wifi. Didn't take long. And they even pointed out I needed work done on one of my ball joints even though my oil change had nothing to do with it. They went above and beyond with explaining and even showing me what was wrong. I appreciated their kindness in taking the time to do that. I will definitely be back. Rescued from the clutches of Sears Auto. So driving a hoopty? Me too... I have a 03 Cavalier with 502770 original miles on it , and as luck would have it ...it decided to blow it's 3rd or 4th alternator eastbound on 96 at exit 4 (Fruitport) at 5 AM on a rainy Sunday morning as I was driving to metro detroit from Ludington...Lucky me. So I limped it into the grocery store parking lot next to the Mc donalds on that rainy morning, and called AAA, who dispatched Reliable towing to grab me, but AAA told them I needed a "Jump start" not a tow, so they double booked my driver to "jump me",( I needed a tow) and then scheduled the same drive to drive across town to change a tire. So seeing it was 6 AM and Mcdonalds was just waking up , I agreed to let the tow truck driver put me on the back burner, run across town and change the tire and hopefully return for me to drag me over to the mall area...thinking what next is gonna go wrong? After a egg mcmuffin and a coffee and an hour and a half or so. Reliable popped back by , flat bedded me to the Belle tire at my request, but on the drive over didn't think Belle does electrical , just tire stuff ( as it turns out, they do do electrical , just not on sundays) and reliable offered to "re tow "me over to sears if I found out Belle indeed didn't do electrical once they opened in an hour or so. .. (because sears does do electrical). I waited for Belle to open at 10 AM (yes on a sunday believe it or not) and it's true they don't do electrical on sundays, normally they don't even open sundays but had some sort of "tire event". So not particularly keen on waiting until Monday for Belle tire to come up to full staff, I limped the car on battery power to the Sears Auto , who supposedly opens at 11 but for some reason was opening at 10 AM on Sunday. I walked in and the Sears guy informed me that they too don't do electrical on Sundays, but he was willing to throw the car on a tester to find out what was up. Turns out the alternator was bad (surprise) and also the battery was not taking a charge properly and one of the terminals was bad on the battery? I asked for a quote , which seemed high, but agreed to schedule for the next morning at 10. now realizing...I'm either sleeping in my car in the parking lot at meijers (if I could get it there) or booking a hotel someplace. I called the baymont inn who were nice enough to early check me in at 10:35 AM ... (5 hours early) and limped the car up the street to the hotel.. (worse case AAA could tow me back to sears) But before I did that I called Belle and asked for a quote for an alternator and a battery for my POS and they beat Sears by let's say alot, so I told Belle to expect me the next morning at 8.. I did make it up to the hotel, and then called back to sears to cancel, and sears said they'd beat Belle's price. Well, I'm the kinda guy , who in a pinch will pay a high price to rescue myself out of a jam, (so if sears would have done the work on Sunday? and gotten me back on the road so I wouldn't have had to spend the night at Baymont? ...would I be writing this review? nope). but you have to ask yourself, assuming youre now stranded in Muskegon (norton shores), and the first guy pretty much tried to hose you, but now realizing he's been caught with a fire hose... now wants to still salvage the alternator- battery sale, would you as a customer still give that guy your business?.. The answer should be no in most cases.... Yes sears was willing to adjust down to Belle's price. (but I'd probably have to get a written quote and jump a hoop or two).. So Yes I cancelled with sears and had a wonderful experience at Belle. I managed to drive the car in near darkness with probably no tail lights to Belle at 7:30AM, who by 8:10 had diagnosed a bad alternator, but said the battery was fine.. beat sears price on the Alternator repair by a decent chunk, got me in and out in 1.5 hours...barely enough time to walk around Menards....and when you consider the difference in price btwn both retailers....the 70 dollar hotel bill was free. (more than free). I'd still be crapping in a Sears restroom at 1 PM , yet belle had me on the road by 9:30. Would I recommend Belle? Yep, Do you want to be stuck in Muskegon unexpectedly over night due to a bad alternator? No, but it all worked out...the car now has 503 plus thousand miles on it...battery is still working so I guess belle diagnosed it correctly and sears was either playing it safe replacing both parts or just selling extra stuff... I'm not gonna say they were doing anything wrong...just that fish rot from the head down. Best of luck with your Belle Tire experience.. read more

These guys here are all great. They will not beat around the bush and tell you exactly what you need. I had a bunch of work done with them and I have nothing bad to say. Also today I went there to get a new valve stem put onto a trailer tire. I think it usually cost about $10 or $15 and they didn't charge me a thing. Yeah it may not seem like a lot but for them to just treat you nice it was good. I would recommend it. read more

I work weird hours and constantly have nails in my tires. I have always been able to just show up here and have it taken care of with an hour. I appreciate their honesty and speed of service. Also, they have a bomb location if you want to just drop your vehicle off and get your grocery shopping or whatever done. :-) Otherwise, free wifi. read more

As with all of my Belle Tire experiences, this one falls short of satisfactory. The talent base in the area must be lacking. The customer service and the quality of work performed are all complete failures at this store. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER HEARD SUCH RIDICULOUSNESS!! I called and made an appointment. They quote an hour time to put new tires on the car. My Husband had extra time so he gets their early to see if maybe they can get to it earlier seeing as they had open appointments before and after his. He walks in at 8:30 am, his appointment is at 9:00 am they tell him it will be two hours. So he calls me and I leave work to come and pick him up so he can get some of his work done while they change the tires. He Calls at 10:30am to check to make sure the car is done so he can move on with his day. Much to our surprise the car HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED. The employee precedes to tell him that the people waiting in the store take priority OVER HIS APPOINTMENT! Such a joke, why make an appointment?! He never told my husband when he asked BEFORE he left the store that this would happen. When we drove back to grab his car, UNDONE, they tell him that the only way he can complain is IF HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT! They also inform him that all an appointment does is give your priority over the walk-ins?! HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?!! You make and appointment which gives your priority over walk-ins but if you leave the walk-ins then take priority over you? In what universe do these people live and work?! I called and made the appointment on a SATURDAY for the following WEDNESDAY! HE HAD AN APPOINTMENT! Lesson to be learned an entire morning WASTED due tot he fact that appointment or not they will get to it when they are done having a few smokes and chatting out back with several empty bays. This place would have gotten 5 stars from me up until a couple weeks ago. The first few times I've went there the service was great. The last time I went there to get a couple tires and an alignment the guy at the counter said in a very cocky tone "nope not doing tires, I can get to the alignment in an hour and a half, just not the tires." I was not expecting to get in right away and most days that would be OK but I really needed the tires more than the alignment and I explained that to him. He said we can do them both tomorrow morning but I said that won't work as I work 1st shift and need my vehicle to get to work, so I asked how about tomorrow afternoon? All he said, still in a cocky tone, was NO, we have no appointments for 2 weeks! So I said fine I'll just take my business elsewhere then. That didn't even change his mind to try to work with me. What kind of a tire place denies a customer new tires? I even put a complaint in on their website that night and 2 days later the store manager tried calling me. Unfortunately I must've been in a dead spot at work and my phone didn't ring so he left a message to call him back. I tried 3 times to no avail. The first time I was hung up on, the second time it kept ringing and no one would pick up, and then the third time some guy answered, "Belle Tire, HOLD". After waiting 10 min. I gave up and said apparently customer service isn't a priority. The store manager hasn't tried calling back since to work out any concerns so I think that definitely shows that customer service is not #1 priority anymore.
