thought everything would go well BUT it didnt. was late getting in the stall even though we showed up a half an hour early. then my wife used her card to reserve the tires but wanted to pay with another card. now discount tire won't answer and they have taken payment from both cards. bad part is my wife will have to file a dispute because you can't get ahold of anyone. I trusted this place for years. They were courteous, fixed tires for free a few times but what happened recently really turned me off. I had hit a curb, needed one new tire. A few weeks after install I noticed my front right very soft. Also the front left fairly soft. Took it back and was told that the old aluminum rims can get pitted and they can be buffed out to a point but after they're so old they can't be buffed out anymore. The guy I delt with said he had a truck with one tire that just would not hold air so he is resigned to checking it regularly as there's just no fix except a new tire/rim. Shortly after that, I had my car at a very trusted gas station, mechanic I've been going to for decades and he checked the tires and said 2 of them had very old, corroded valves that had, obviously, not been changed for years. 3 of the 4 tires had leaks. He also said the story about not being able to buff the tires was BS. He checked and fixed all 4 tires for $80 and said the rims were fine for buffing out/cleaning, which he did. read more

I needed a new set of tires for my vehicle. Checking the many different brands, tire shops and yes even on-line, I liked Discount Tire. They were very helpful; in all aspects of purchasing tires. From the first stop to their business to measure my current tire grade, it was time to go ahead and purchase. I settled for Michelin CrossClimate 2. We placed our order on-line to get the promotion that Michelin was offering. The tires were delivered to Discount and we received a phone call saying it was time to make an appointment for installing the new set. Our tires were installed. I cannot say enough about the courtesy. The efficiency and helpfulness that we received from the store staff was great. The tires are the best ever. I'm in Muskegon from out of town, discovered my tire had a slow leak, I brought it here hoping they could fix it so I wouldn't have to worry about a flat tire for the 300 mi. trip home. I stopped by to get our tires rotated. They honored their contract with the previous owner for lifetime rotation. They were absolutely professional, friendly, and kind. There was an older gentleman in the store who appeared to have Parkinson's and was having a little trouble communicating. The customer service people were so understanding and patient. Wow! All I can say is thank you. Situation: We are from Arkansas. We bought a boat up here and had to pull it back. Trailer needed new tires and we ran in to a few snags making us run late to get to the tire shop that closed at 5. We ended up buying tires so we had them with us and I call discount tire and spoke with Nate explained the issue. He said we will help. We pulled in and it was 5:45pm. The team checked us in and it was like a pit crew. Loved it. Changed the tires and we are on our way. More companies need to have this type of customer service. Thank you Nate and your crew. I purchased two sets of tires from Nate on 09-28-2017. One set, I knew exactly what I wanted. The second set, Nate showed several different brands and explained the pros and cons of each brand. Even though they were extremely busy, both cars were completed with a combined time of 2 1/2 hours. That's a very reasonable amount of time when you consider I had no appointment set up. I've been putting off getting tires for a while and finally broke down. Unfamiliar with the area, I stopped at a couple of different places prior to Discount Tire but their prices were too high and didn't offer financing. Over all really happy with my experience at this location. Great customer service and when I requested new tires, the employee dealing with me went out and checked out my car. Instead of taking advantage of me and selling me 4 tires like I originally asked, he told me I only needed to replace 3 of them. HUGE shout out to Discount Tires in Muskegon. They went out of their way to get me the best deal and services! I only paid $49 for a tire, plus them putting it on, PLUS them changing my spare tire for my passenger side tire. The assistant spent a lot of time getting me the best tire with the best discount, PLUS it was all done in 15 minutes!! read more

I've been a discount tire customer for years and have spent hundreds of dollars at your store, but never again. A couple of months ago I stopped by with a flat tire. I'm thinking a routine fix and couple of dollars and all would be well. I was told it was unrepairable but I never saw the tire. So taking them for their word and almost $200.00 dollars later I leave with a brand new tire. Well yesterday I find a large staple in a different tire and take it in to be repaired. Once again they come out and says it's not repairable. REALLY. Now I have seen this staple in the tire and I'm no dummy but it looks repairable to me. So I say I'm not buying another tire and bring me my car with the doughnut on it. I take it right over to Smith Tire they take a look at it and says yes it very repairable, no problem. 15 minutes later I'm riding out on an unrepairable tire for $12. I go back to Discount looking for my tire holder which they took the doughnut from and they said oh yeah you were just here with the unrepairable tire no we don't have it and can't find it. I say look outside does that look unrepairable. The look on their face was priceless. Never again Discount Tire. You lost a good customer. read more

I got there early and the guy told me they dont make 8am appointments and that they had never put one in the computer. Then proceeded to insinuate i was a liar. Would not recommend. I was a discount tire customer for over 20 years this store is the one that finely made me switch .....There are lots of places out there trying to get your tire business to use discount tire anymore. price matching is bullshit shop around and go with the place that gives you the best price the first time. A price match guarantee is nothing if you have to do all the leg work on your own so that discount tire can match the price of the honest shop that gave you the good price to begin with. and the warrantee is worthless when you go back a year latter and they want to put mismatched tires on your car! The straw that broke the camels back was them refusing to sell me install just two tires on a car. they would only install them if I bought all four due to they felt the two I thought were good and they felt they were wore out! Anyway spend a few min. on the telephone and shop around you will find better deals and service from stores that want your business !
