Headline: I won't be back. (Except I probably will, because as soon as I think repairs are done...a new one pops up). We needed two new tires for a front-wheel drive car. Bought two new tires from Belle Tire and had them put on. Easy. I started driving home. Before getting halfway there, the tire pressure light came on. This car doesn't tell you which tire or how much/little pressure. So I returned to Belle Tire immediately. The tire pressure was at 42 psi! Not 36 where they told me it should have been. Which confused them as the techs who had over-inflated it, because they said it's an automated air pump, so they were confused too. They deflated it to where it should have been initially and I left. Fast forward two weeks. Tire pressure light comes back on again. I schedule another appointment. They find that the tire valve stems hadn't been replaced when they put the new tires on. They replace and I leave. Fast forward two more weeks. Tire pressure light comes back on AGAIN. Schedule another appointment because they ONLY REPLACED THE ONE VALVE STEM LAST TIME? If both tires are new, and they were replaced here, and you found a leaky valve stem on one, why on earth wouldn't you fix them both (as I foolishly assumed they had)? Also, it took well over two hours from the time they took my key to the time they had replaced the ONE valve stem they needed to repair. Beyond that here are some other issues: 1. Every time I call I'm put on hold for about 5 minutes while they deal with customers in-person. 2. But every time I come in I have to wait for about 5-10 minutes while multiple employees are on phone calls. Separate these two jobs! No one greets you when you walk in, because they're always on the phone. ALWAYS. They just look down at the desk and ignore you until they're off the phone, and even then it's barely a glance your way. Not even a silently mouthed, "Sorry, just a minute." Nothing. I'm over being here four times in two months. Judging from others in line and in the waiting room, as well as the other reviews on here, it sounds like I'm not the only one tired of it. I'll just go to Costco from now on I guess. UPDATED EDIT: Below is a kindly worded response from Belle Tire that does nothing to solve this and everything to show how thoughtful their customer service team is. Well, that's nice, but my reply to that is "thanks but no thanks." Until that kind of service trickles into your actual brick and mortar shops, it doesn't do us any good in your waiting rooms. We still have to take time off work to come in only to not have SIMPLE tire issues solved in one shot. Guess what? My tire light came on AGAIN. I'm not bringing it back to Belle Tire. Someone else is going to finally solve this for us. read more

Paid for and alignment after I replaced my front suspension. I was told if I didn't pay for their "alignment guarantee" I wouldn't be able to bring the vehicle back if there was an issue after I left the shop. This is shady and it's the first time I've seen a major chain do this. I won't be returning. read more

Its 8am Saturday morning I have a severe tire leak lve limping around on for 2 days and must get it repaired. Walk in to belle to collect on the complimentary happy talk about free tire leak repair after you drop a thousand dollars on tires. They hit me a 3 hr estimate. Are you serious? We bring our cars to Belle Tire in Okemos whenever something needs fixing. They do a good job in a timely manner, and are happy to explain what needs fixing and why. A few times we have needed on-the-spot financing for an emergency situation, and they offer a credit card with 0% interest for 12 months so we can pay as we're able to. I would definitely recommend Belle Tire. read more

Wow. I limped my Nissan Altima to this Belle Tire as one side of my car felt lower than the other The tires were slipping. It was a mess I blamed on the shocks. After a short wait they looked at my car and quickly identified the rear control arm bracket had broke. He said they could fix it and would order the part. Not privy to any of his conversation with Nissan he comes back to me with a good news scenario. He said that the part was recalled by Nissan and I could get it fixed for free at Nissan. So I said while it's on the lift please rotate the tires. They did so, no charge. We had Belle Tire tires. Anyway a short trrup to Nissan and they fixed the car for free. Thank you Belle Tires. You could have ordered the part and charged me $500 to fix without telling me of the recall. I trust you guys and will be back soon. read more

This was THEE most disheartening experience I've had with a repair shop. I performed a total replacement of front suspension parts, in two separate occurrences. At the first one, I took the car in for a four wheel alignment. When I went to pick it up, they informed me that there was a frozen bolt near the gas tank and didn't mess with it due to fire/explosion safety. I said fine, thank you for letting me know; I'll fix that down the road. He stated it was noted in my history 2 months later, I completed the phase two of the suspension changeout. We dropped the car off, and I told them I just want to make sure that the front end was solid, I still haven't messed with the rear issue. Two hours later, I get a message to call.... The nincompoops BROKE OFF the bolt previously in question and wanted me to pay a "cost" price on 2 parts for a $500+ repair to fix this.... Unbelievable. Now bear in mind, I didn't tell them of my plan to phase replacement during the first trip, but they added on a 1yr recheck/adjust fee WITHOUT explaining or asking me if I wanted it. But fine, it was needed, even though they didn't communicate about it. So on my return trip, I went back expecting a "no charge" service. Then they hit me with this BS. I feel like this business is predatory, and expects people to be ignorant of costs. I am a former ASE certified mechanic who changed careers. They either have really, really poor training relating to communication, or systematically teach their employees how to gouge & steal from unknowing people. I bought a set of MasterCrap (sic) tires--that are loud & feel like they have excessive runout--on my 2017 Camry and every time I've taken it in for rotation/balance, they also try to sell an alignment. My car tracks perfectly; does not pull at all, and had only 32,000 miles when I bought the tires. From these two issues, I will NEVER darken these thieves' door again. Watch out for this chain's business practices....& the corporate communication lady can save her generic "...sorry we didn't meet your expectations, Todd..." empty follow up as well. read more

Stopped in to get some questions answered about a used vehicle that I purchased recently. The locking Lugnuts did not have a key and I needed 2 tires replaced as well as faulty TPMS sensor. Brock assures med that they would be able to take care of these items and was able to fit me into their schedule without an appt. He completed the work, including removing the locking Lugnuts without damaging my rims. Very happy with the service he provided and completing the work in a timely manner. read more

I brought my car in to Belle Tire, Okemos on 3/3/22 to repair a tire leak. They fixed the flat tire in a timely manor but here is the rest of my story. The tech said I needed the following repair done: 2 inner tie rods / 2 front strut assembly's (Leaking) / 2 rear shocks / four wheel alignment Total estimated repair $1,728.72. I declined to have the work completed. I challenged the service writer telling him that I just had the struts replaced in the past 20,000 miles. He showed me the struts, but I could not see they were leaking. I took my car to a trusted mechanic and he checked out the struts (not leaking) / tie rods / shocks and they all are in good condition and don't need to be replaced. This is the third time in the past 5 years I have had Belle Tire, Okemos tell me I needed mechanical work done when it was not needed. Never, Never, Never have mechanical work done at Belle Tire Okemos without getting a 2nd estimate from a trusted repair facility. They must stop these predatory, unethical business practices. Have visited the Grand River location in Okemos several times over the years. Last several times, staff advised me that my ball joints were loose and needed replacement. Second opinion at a different shop each time indicated that they were fine. Took my newest vehicle there this week for a front end alignment after having new tires, brakes and a single ball joint replacement at another mechanic as they didn't have an alignment rack. I was again advised that my ball joints were loose and in need of replacement. Either they hire unskilled technicians or they are unethical in their business practices. Actually a 3.5 star review. They have a solid selection of tires. A basic menu of services. They do what they do in the world of tires. This is not my first business with them. I was impressed with the fact with all the tire choices, the young man assisting me advocated a less expensive tire choice as a best option for my truck. So I liked the selection and his counsel but outside of that this branch seems maybe a bit lacking in customer service maybe? I don't know...just seems a bit cold in there...not real welcoming or appreciative of the client. Just my opinion. Maybe an off day. read more

Chain auto services companies have bad reputations for piling on unnecessary services, but my experience with Belle Tire in Okemos defies that stereotype. I went in for a tire rotation, alignment and possible leaking tire. The rep. said no rotation was needed. A tire sensor was leaking. The rep. provided his opinion of the options, and we went for one. I would give this store ZERO stars if possible. I do my research like a good consumer, find tires for cheaper and Belle says they'll match the price. Great! I can do my tires and alignment at the same place like I usually do. Welp, turned into a nightmare. First, the guy is angry that Belle would match the price I found even though I provided him the confirmation email. Seemed to try everything not to honor it. Second, they didn't work on the tire pressure system as asked even though they said they did and the lights were still on when I got into the car. Third, the tires were losing air immediately so I had to take the car back and wait another 3 1/2 hours. The reason "the chrome was flaking off and corrosion was under the valve stems causing them to leak". So you're telling me they didn't replace the valve stems the first time and clean up the rim like they were supposed to? Oh and all of sudden the tire pressure machine doesn't work and needs updates so still no resolution on that problem. NOW the car is shaking once it gets to 55-60 MPH. Call to see about them doing a quick look and fix it since you know, it's been less than 24 hours since I left. Response "you're more than welcome to drop and I'll get to it when I get to it or it will be finished tomorrow". This store has been a complete disappointment. Poor service, poor quality work and and a nightmare to work with. I'm sure the response will be something to do with a good deal on the price match but last I checked recieving a price match doesn't allow for substandard quality and service. read more

Went to the belle tire in Okemos Michigan, they did a good job time wise but, I wasn't pleased when I watched one of there employees go through my Vehicle a couple times and sat in my car longer then he should have. Going to a tire shop I except my tires to be looked at and cared for, not my car gone through under any circumstances was that okay. I had a tire that wasn't holding air for more than 24 hours & needed my tires rotated. I called Belle Tire Okemos and arranged to drop my vehicle off. They were courteous and clear on when they expected my job to be done. They finished the work well within the quoted time and charged me nothing for removing a 3-inch screw from my tire or the tire rotation, since I had purchased the tires from them. Courteous staff + great service = I will remain a customer at Belle Tire Okemos for a long time! read more

On July 25, 2018, we had our car towed to Belle Tire Okemos MI for a water pump and serpentine belt emergency replacement. The invoice came to $388.38 US and we picked up the car on July 26 and continued on to Ontario, Canada. On August 1, my husband noticed oil all over the engine so we immediately brought our car to a nearby Toyota dealer. They found a large piece of the serpentine belt, 17 inches long and 1/4 inch wide, stuck in the crank seal which caused the leak. Toyota had to replace the crank seal and belt and shampoo the engine. That repair cost $440. Canadian. I called Belle Tires on August 2 asking for restitution and was advised to email all the information and it would be shown to the manager who was not in at the time. On August 10, I hadn't received a response, so I called and spoke with the manager. He said they did their work properly since there was no problem with the replacement parts and could not be held responsible, but he would check with his supervisor. Later that afternoon, he emailed his response writing he and his supervisor agreed they were not at fault for not removing the pieces of belt they could not see. The manager said there were pieces all over and they removed what they could find. Is that not part of a repair to look for pieces?? Toyota found the piece despite the engine being covered in oil, there was no way they could pinpoint where the leak originated with oil covering the engine. Again this was not a small piece, it's 17 inches long extended and 1/4 inch wide. Needless to say, we are not pleased with the service and would never recommend Belle Tires to anyone! Too bad we didn't read the reviews on the web before getting the work done, otherwise we would've had our car towed somewhere else. UPDATE......after numerous calls and texts from manager, District Manager up to Head Office, it is a dead end. They offered us $100. for our inconvenience, which we refused because we feel they are at fault. They said they did all they could to find the pieces. So there it is.......... We will never go to a Belle Tire or recommend them. Hopefully this post will reach a lot of people!! read more

This is a classic swindle. They say they'll get you a good deal, then they find some part in a hidden corner of your car's chassis to upsell you on. Notice how many people's reviews mention struts, shocks, ball joints or control arms? That's clearly your upsell. Now instead of a good deal for 2 blown tires you're spending 1500 for comically overpriced chassis parts. Don't waste your entire paycheck here just for them to badmouth you when you leave. Every time I come here I fine a new thing to be disappointed with. Went in for an alignment and came out worse then before. On my most recent trip I got tires mounted. They over inflate all but one tire past the maximum tire inflation amount posted on the tire it's self. They didn't bother to read the tire inflation spec stickers that literally every car has in the door frame. Also, they didn't even make sure that all the tires air pressure were the same, like you're a tire shop, really? It really is a shame that you have a "professional" who is not competent enough to fill a tire with air to the proper amount. If you can support small business do that instead of coming here. It's only a matter of time until places like Belle Tire normalize poor workmanship and take advantage of the people who don't know any better. read more

Needed windshield replaced. Dropped off car for the appointment; got a phone call an hour later that the wrong windshield ordered and I needed to reschedule. Ok, mistakes happen. Got new windshield the following day and drove home. Found broken glass shards and debris on floorboards and dash. Oh well, no one is perfect. After the 24-wait, I removed the retaining tape, only to find out the trim was not installed correctly, with huge gaps showing and part of the trim actually not attached to anything. Called them back to complain; had to wait five days before the auto glass technician could make an inspection to see what can be done to fix it! My patience is now almost worn out. Well, the tech came out, and phoned me that the trim was fixed but I could not see any improvements. Never going back here, as I do not want to deal with the sloppy work and runarounds again. read more

Man, it kills me to write this but I have to. These yahoos they got working here are full of crap. I sat there the other night watching them turn people away at 7:00 because "they close at 8 and they already got like at least an hour and a half of work bro". Let me tell you, they closed right on time. I left around 7:45 and there was only one damn car in the whole shop. These jokers were all just standing around shooting the shit. I made an appointment for a rotation, but when it was done, they didn't even tell me when I was supposed to be coming back in to make sure I'm in line with the warranty. They didn't give me any paperwork and when I asked if they had checked my brakes like I'd asked, the answer I got was "oh yeah, yeah, they're fine." I can tell you I'm going to be following up with upper management about this. They sure are polite taking your money when you purchase tires, but fail miserably when providing the follow up service required AFTER the sale. Don't they realize that repeat business is what keeps a company going. Employing people who don't give two ducks is piss poor management. read more

Customer Service is severely lacking at the management level / They DO NOT stand behind their service work / No effort to mitigate a very expensive tech mistake / Blame was put on customer with ZERO signs of remorse This is an unfortunate thing for me to have to write because over the course of the last 5-7 years I've enjoyed having my car serviced at Belle Tire. Further, at a previous job, I recommended and succeeded in having our small fleet of vehicles serviced there. This Okemos location is great up to the point when something goes wrong and part of the blame is on their shoulders, then they are cowardly and don't take responsibility for their actions. To keep the story short, I had some service work done at this location and a few thousand miles later had complete engine failure, resulting in having to purchase a new engine for just under $5,000. There was no other indications of engine problems and in fact the engine was just over 60,000 miles. I took the car to a mechanic after the engine failure and was told the only way this could have happened was a mistake done by Belle Tire (the last people to touch the engine). While this is certainly frustrating and very costly, what bothered me even more was the customer service and professionalism that followed. The first Tuesday after the engine failure I went in to the location and spoke with Don the manager. He advised me he would gather the facts, run it up the chain and get back to me. Two weeks later I had not heard anything so I called back and spoke to the new manager (I don't recall his name). Without doing any investigation into the matter, he told me there was "nothing we can do." I went over the facts of the matter with him, and he seemed to have details about the car, but the reports from the mechanic all wrong and, at times, he contradicted himself in his explanation. I asked for his district manager's number and was told they can't give that information out. I then asked him to have the district manager contact me. He said he would. This never happened. After several days I located the corporate number and called. I spoke with David Talbot who was very kind, understanding and gave me a date to expect follow up which was met. A bright spot in this whole situation. A week after that I received a call from the district manager who said Belle Tire feels that they have no responsibility in this matter and can't do anything to rectify the situation. I didn't even get an apology for all the hoops I had to jump through the previous three weeks to get in contact with him. He then blamed me saying "you should have heard something in the engine." (Note: there was no indication of the looming engine failure, no dash lights or warning signs, just a soft buzz for a couple miles then a loud clunk and that was it.) While I certainly wasn't expecting them to purchase me a new engine, a good faith effort to better the situation with a long time customer would have gone a long way. I had planned on having new tires and brakes put on my other vehicle later this spring, a purchase of about to about $1,500, but another local shop will be getting this business. This Okemos store, and likely the Lansing area under this district manager, is more focused on keeping the profit lines up and not retaining a long time customer. read more
