This was our first stop in Newport for Labor Day Weekend. We did not make a reservation but we arrived at 1 pm and they were able to seat us outside. Tables were clean and we sat under a shaded umbrella so we felt great on such a hot day! To die for: the crab cake Benedict. Seasoned really well and cooked so great it didn't fall apart when I cut through to grab egg and crab. The potatoes that came with the dish were classic and great as well. Plus they also gave a nice surprise of fruit, which was great to finish off the dish. Fiancé got the lobster rolls and he loved it as well. Buttered enough to taste the lobster and the potato bread was really well toasted. The macaroni said it came with was delicious and loved that it had pieces of olives inside (no seed!). Would definitely recommend this place and I can see us coming back here next time we're in Newport. read more

Amazing Mushroom Panni! So delicious and not be heavy. The French toast was a perfect compliment of the panini. Originally they said it would be a 45 minute wait on a Saturday at noon but it only took 25 mins. No bar but they do provide some beer and wine options. The perfect spot for COVID-friendly breakfast. Belle's is located inside Newport Shipyard, right on a beautiful open pier. The tables are well spaced apart under attractive tents. The service is excellent. The food is OUTSTANDING and a great value. My sandwich on a croissant was divine with yummy fresh cooked eggs hard, good cheddar, and sausage. My wife's pancakes were like pastries. However be warned they are a lot of food. Overall one of the most pleasant and delicious breakfasts I have had. Highly recommend. Service wasn't the greatest. Our waitress passed by us numerous times w/o checking on us then she came w the check w/o us asking for it & w/o asking if we wanted anything else. I was so excited to check this place out but unfortunately this was a HUGE miss for me. Yikes! Service was horrendous! It went from 10 min wait to 25 min wait. When we finally were seated we waited another 25 mins before our drink order was taken. The menu is very limited so it takes all of 5 minutes to decide on what you'd like. I ordered yogurt to start and not only did I request utensils to be able to eat it but ended up having to get up to get it myself. It looked as if it was tossed in the bowl. An basic egg and cheese sandwich took an hour to get, let me just say it was not busy. I'm not sure if this is the usual for this place but mid way waiting I was so tempted to cancel the entire order. If it wasn't for the very little view you get I would have given one star. TL;DR: amazing food, great outdoor seating with or without shade and great service I came here with three others with our two doggies and they were extremely accommodating. We came on a Monday (forgot to make reservations but they were able to seat us pretty quickly). Great service as they got water bowls for our dogs and was quick to take our orders. They had a lot of great food to choose from. We got the Crab Cake Benedict (absolutely amazing - a must get), twin lobster rolls (extremely good - if you love lobsters, you'll like this), Texas style French toast (not your average French Toast, great density and flavor with just the right hint of sweetness), and shipyard sandwich (good sandwich). A good lunch/brunch spot at the shipyard by the pier, walking distance from most hotels. Four of us came here on a weekday without reservation and we were seated within 10mins. Our server Matt was super friendly and funny, he brighten up our brunch. We wanted to try the steak and eggs special but they already sold out by noonish, so we opted for the waffle and the omelette - both were on that day's special as well. We were in Newport on vacation and decided to have breakfast here since it came highly recommended. We were told we'd have a 15 minute wait which is no problem. We observed several people coming up to the podium to be seated and they were ignored by several staff members. Our server was super sweet, but there didn't seem to be enough staff to keep up with seating people and running food/drinks. My fiancé had a breakfast sandwich which was good, but I had the waffles which tasted premade and too too sweet. This is a beautiful restaurant and I loved sitting outside on the marina. I just don't think we'd pick this one again. This restaurant is also in the back of a shipyard, and I think the best part of this experience was watching them move the huge yachts around. read more

Writing this 5 star review with a big smile on my face, sitting at the bar top inside, sipping my 2nd cup of coffee, having just eaten one of the top 5 Lox Bagel sandwiches in my life, listening to chill music, looking out at the boats in Newport harbor and the bridge in the distance. I'm in town for a wedding, and this place did not disappoint for breakfast after a night of too many cocktails. The outside looks to be the popular place to sit, and they have a take out window which I was going to utilize ... until I spotted two grey haired guys dining alone at the counter, smiling, people watching, enjoying the summer views, and delicious food. Figured I would join them. Great decision. One of these guys sails 10 months out of the year and is headed to the Bahamas this afternoon. What a cool convo in a cool breakfast place to enjoy - again, literally one of the BEST lox breakfast sandwiches ever. I'll happily pay $15+ when the sandwich has the perfect combo of tomatoes and red onion and capers and generous with the salmon portion, not to mention a watermelon orange strawberry fruit garnish. I'm just saying, this isn't grabbing a sandwich from some quick deli and running away. Sit down and enjoy eating at this establishment. The location is the highlight of this resturant. Nestled amongst the most stunning collection of sail boats and yachts it's no wonder there is usually an hour wait for a table. We got lucky. We came at 1 pm the Wednesday after Labor Day and before the boat show. We were seated immediately. Maura our server, was attentive and pleasant. Everything we ordered was fresh and perfectly cooked and exactly as described in the menu. The Avacado toast was served on crispy sourdough. The poached eggs were prepared as requested, jammy and hot. Too much everything Bagle seasoning hid the fresh flavors. The home fries were soft and completely covered in a herb seasoning. The arugula salad with Panco crusted chicken was also perfectly cooked. But the salad was over dressed and a bottle of capers topped the salad. Bottom line, today there was a heavy hand in the kitchen with the seasoning. I bet on another day, the exact same meal would have been 5 star perfect to match the beautiful surroundings. read more

Disappointing. I dined alone. There was a relatively short wait but sat a couple before me. I assume it was because it was a 4 top instead of a 2. But not what you do. Single diners usually turn a table faster. Waitress was very sweet but food took longer than i expected and it was barely warm. I noticed couple next to me got food more quickly. Even 2nd cup Of tea took a long time. I was done by the time it came. The only reason for the 3 and not a 2 is because the waitress and i think meal would have been good if hot/warm. read more

It didn't even run when I broke into it and was basically a poached hard boiled egg. The crab itself was okay. The boyfriend had the lobster roll, which was decent, but don't expect nice juicy big pieces. Nice buttery roll though. Potato salad a little bit of the firm and undercooked side, if you like that. Cuban sandwich never knew anything about Havana: thin and cold on lousy bread, one measly pickle chip, no mustard. Ham? Might have been. Most hilarious was the clueless waitress not able to tell the difference between macaroni salad versus cole slaw. Both were leftovers from earlier in the week and should have been tossed to the seagulls. But we put away a nameless bottle of Prosecco (no label given on the menu) so we came away bouncy - but still very hungry. Belle's is a big STAY AWAY. I wish I took photos. This was a hidden gem, tucked away off the main road, through a marina. They had outdoor seating that is probably used in the warmer weather, but we went in November and we're seated quickly. When we left there were many more people who ordered take out and sat at the tables along the dock. The food was delicious.
