Very aesthetic and refreshing! I was hoping it was going to be more sweet (not because of added sugar) but because of the fruits, however it was a little too tart. My partner however got their mocha and it was delicious! My uncle also equally enjoyed his oat milk latte. Drift was definitely on the expensive side, but worth it for the experience. My husband had the iced cold brew with caramel and oat milk, and it was excellent. The kids enjoyed bacon, egg, and cheese bagels along with water served in aluminum cans, which was a nice touch. I had a chai latte that was a little lukewarm, but still good. My girlfriend and friend got the other pictured so aesthetically pleasing and they both loved them as well. Place was clean, pet friendly, and the workers were kind as well especially with a line almost always out the door. After arriving via the Providence Newport Ferry, we were looking for a place to grab some breakfast. We checked our Yelp map and wandered around the area, looking for a good venue. We drifted across the street to the Drift Cafe, and once we finally found the correct entry (downstairs using the right side of the restaurant) we entered this popular and somewhat eclectic little cafe. It wasn't easy finding an open table, the venue is small, and Drift is popular. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and all day breakfast plate, which took about 10 to 15 minutes to arrive. Both of which were hot and tasty. We'd be delighted to return here. read more

Every time it was quick grab and run thing and I say quick as this place stays packed and has long lines but they move pretty quickly. If you want a quick nourishing bite to start your day off this is the place to go. I really liked how you could choose between different breads and wraps for your sandwiches. The menu is great and they offer a variety of different things, including coffee, smoothie bowls, sandwiches, and salads. The staff is also very friendly. Today (my 7th visit) I ordered the harvest bowl and added tofu, which I highly recommend. I also had a latte with their lavender syrup (that they make in house ). The "Greeny" smoothie was hands-down one of the best I've had, fresh, balanced, and not overly sweet. We did a portion of the cliff walk on a Saturday morning and then went into town to grab lunch. Parking was a beast but we found a spot after a little bit of driving. All this too go to drift Cafe because of the good reviews. We would have almost missed it until we did a double take because the m Cafe is ground level and not easy to spot. You order at the register and they bring the food to you. We got three bowls and a drink, the strawberry guava lemonade. The drink was super refreshing. You couldn't taste the guava much but it was lemony. I asked for less ice but we got plenty lol. Out of the bowls, the farmer's scramlet was tasty. We asked for some hot sauce and that elevated it. The good stuff and Malta were ok. The dressing for the good stuff was quite thick, almost like a cream cheese texture so it's hard to mix in with the other ingredients. For the Malta, the biggest issue was the brown rice we received which must have been from the bottom of the cooker, because it was rock hard. We hurt our teeth a few times before we spoke to the staff. They were nice enough to suggest options such as making us a fresh bowl or getting us some rice on the side. I appreciated the staff's understanding and kindness. So overall, solid 4 stars. Next time though, I'll focus on the breakfast bowls. I think they're the real deal! read more

This is a local business husband and wife owned. I love getting a quick bite to eat and coffee here. They can get very busy especially in the summer months and have a great online ordering platform where you can order ahead if you are in a rush. I used to work right up the street and put my lunch order in advance. My go to is the iced lavender vanilla latte and iced matcha latte (I am a huge lavender lover so also add in lavender to my matcha too!) They just opened up the cafe with a newly renovated area next door and expanded the place. They have free wifi where you can pop into your laptop and work remote for a few hours. Drift Cafe is the epitome of a hip, local establishment. All the reviews hit the marks with long lines and wait times in peak season, but the effort is worth the experience unless you are a die-hard Starbucks or Dunkin' person. Drift is as "crunchy" as they come, and while that used to be viewed as a negative previously it has been all the rage in recent years. They have a feel of hippy meets hipster in terms of their offerings and ingredients used, including all the "in" exotic and health-related items like acai, chia seeds, CBD, and of course everything is organic and sustainably-sourced. The space is very bright and vibrant to accompany the smells of coffee, oatmeal, and blended fruit. Seating is pretty difficult to come by unless you are there super early or during the tourist offseason. It's a really well designed space, decorated to bring brightness (it's primarily a breakfast spot) which is offset by the colorful food and drinks. The personnel and attitude matches the space. Bubbly personalities take your order with a smile and are as pleasant as the aromas that fill the space. I've been here a few times and I've never had an issue with my order or the service, which is pretty amazing considering the volume they do on a daily basis. The food and drinks are imaginative and unique in a world of copycats. From the Purple Chill Pill smoothie to their take on Turmeric Golden Milk they have forged their own path on top of the typical offerings of your favorite coffee shops. The food is equally unique, not necessarily in the ingredients used but in the variety of offerings and combinations. You have your typical breakfast platters/plates, hot oatmeal/cereal, smoothie bowls, and sandwiches. What you get for the price paid is a real value in my opinion, but hinges on quality over quantity. You shouldn't leave Drift hungry, but don't expect the 3# of greasy diner food you can get at half the cost at a Denny's or local diner. Drift has become my favorite spot in the downtown area to grab n' go or sit (when a seat is available) for breakfast. The complaints I've heard and read all relate to the waits, long lines, and size of the seating areas. I honestly don't have an issue with any of those after reading about it before trying Drift, and their food and drinks only further solidified in my mind that it was worth the wait. I would recommend Drift to anyone that is in the area and wants a healthy, filling, and invigorating start to their day. It doesn't come without it's costs (both time and monetary), but I'm a firm believer in what they stand for and love to back these kind of establishments with my business and give them the love they deserve and need. read more
