I was fortunate enough to be able to book a table for six the day before for brunch. We had to wait for our table since we did get there early and it was raining. Please note this was duting covid 19 pandemic and it was during the summer time. I did notice that they were quite a few people who did not make reservations and were turned away because they might have been too packed. we were seated at our table and the first thing that we noticed was that there were still some cups and utensils at our table and that our table was not wiped down before they seated us. We gently asked for them to wipe down the table before we were seated because we were very cautious about covid 19. We were able to place our order in a timely fashion. And we were able to get our food in a timely fashion. Since it was during the pandemic and we were outside all of our drinks were in plastic to go containers. I had ordered an omelette with spinach and mozzarella and inside order of pancakes. other individuals at my table also ordered omelettes as well as the steak scrambled special. across the board everyone really enjoyed their food. upon leaving we also did notice that there was a group of maybe eight individuals that were seated across from us and once they left their table a sign was put that the table was sanitized however we never saw them sanitize the table and they were still a little bit of a mess left on the table. we were hoping that that was the case just because the young lady might have been tired or forgot but it's very important to sanitize and clean the tables prior to a party arriving. one thing I need to mention the view was amazing the location was really superb. All in all would recommend it as a place to go for breakfast if you are in the area. I would just be very careful that the tables are clean prior to sitting down. Food was really good all around. Took a day trip from Boston to New Port to check out the mansions. We found this place on Yelp and it was one of the best meals on our trip. I had an egg white omelette and it was perfect. As long as the weather's nice, this is a great waterfront location. The seating is mostly outside under tents, but on a nice day, it's a pleasant setting by the waterfront. The service is prompt and attentive, and the food is amazing, with perfect portioning. The French toast is a little much on portion, but it's still good. The lox eggs Benedict was great, as was the Caprese croissant (we split the two). Unfortunately, they're both specials and may not be there when you are. We love this "off the beaten path" gem! We came one Monday mid-summer and while other places had lines to get in, we had our choice of seats. Don and I started with the NE clam chowder and it was very tasty. For our main lunches I had a nice Cobb salad. It was a little light on protein - I should have added the chicken, but the dressing was yummy. JoAnn ordered the chicken Milanese and it came with a big slab of lightly breaded crispy chicken covered with a fresh salad (I should have ordered that!). I hate coming to this restaurant. There are so many good things on the specials menu that I can never decide what I want. I'd really like to have one of each. Today I had French toast with peaches that were sort of like a bread pudding. it had a bourbon sauce with pecans. Probably one of the most delicious things I've ever had. Unfortunately the lobster roll was extremely salty, as if someone spilled a salt shaker on it. I like my salt but I can't imagine anyone actually intended for it to be that salty. It was almost inedible. I have never experienced this and I am a big fan of lobster rolls. Coleslaw and Deep River chips were good. The location is interesting, inside of the ship yard. When you're not keen on waiting in the mega-long lines at other breakfast eateries that shall not be named downtown, take a short stroll about ten minutes off the beaten path to Belle's Cafe in the Newport Shipyard complex. It's definitely a secret spot, so consider this insider info! We have guests visiting from out of town, and everyone was starving for brunch this morning, so I decided to rally the troops and take them too Belle's. It was definitely the right decision, and everyone loved it! Belle's is a counter-service restaurant, but with gourmet food. They have everything from breakfast sandwiches elevated to the nth degree with thick cut ham to a "daily catch", either prepared on a salad or a sandwich with a fresh brioche bun and slaw. Heavenly! There were four of us, and we got a croissant breakfast sandwich, a tuna melt, a "daily catch" seared tuna sandwich, and a poached eggs breakfast platter. I also got an iced tea, and others got bottled drinks from the ample selection in the case. They gave us a buzzer after we paid at the counter, and our food was ready in record time! Kudos to the kitchen staff- everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. I especially loved the poached eggs I had; it can be difficult to do a good poached egg, but Belle's has it down to a science! The only downside was the prices. Even though we did order one "daily catch" entree, which was reasonable at $18, the bill came to around $72 for everything. And we got tuna/egg sandwiches, poached eggs, and sodas. It was a little expensive :/ We took a seat at a picnic table under a beautiful awning, and watched the boats go by on a perfect August morning. It was an excellent way to start the day, and according to my guests, one of the highlights of their stay so far! Great breakfast place! We arrived early on Saturday morning (around 8:20). We were a group of 5 and were seated right away. However, the people behind us had to wait. Four of us ordered the crab cake Benedict, and one ordered the French toast. The food was amazing!! The crab cake Benedict is INE of the best I've ever had. You go up and order your food and then get a buzzer to go pick it up, no waitress service outside. My big gripe with this place was the 12% service fee on top of the tax. Our items were $38 and ended up costing $51 with the fees, it just seemed steep. The food was wonderful, eggs benedict being the show stopper but my avocado toast was also very good, I did taste a little too much lime though. We went to Belles for the 4th and we waited 30 minutes on top of our reservation. They forgot we were there with all the people coming up to the stand asking to put their names on the 75-90 min list. We were lodging at the Gurney's resort just across the bridge on Goat Island, which provided us easy walk over to Belle's Cafe for breakfast lunch or dinner. This restaurant is located in a quite large shipyard that has a few sizable beautiful Yachts to view. The restaurant is set back from the street along the dockside and provides both outdoor in indoor dining. For lunch, we decide to upon the lobster roll and their Clam Chowder, which were both delicious. Their staff was friendly, accommodating, and quite attentive. We returned the following day for breakfast to have their buttermilk pancakes and Portuguese-style Azores Omelet that we heard so much about. As for myself, Belle's Cafe was everything I anticipating from a Newport cafe; delicious food, scenic view and wonderful friends to enjoy it all with. Visited this "hidden" cafe on the last day of my trip. Walked through an active shipyard and you will find Belle's Cafe. It was interesting and nice at the same time. There are seats inside and tables with umbrellas outside. I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot since it was nice looking out to the waterfront and the bridge to enter Newport. Ok so I'll start off by saying Belles cafe is definitely a little pricey, but it's very worth it! Make a reservation in advance if you can! The spot is so pretty right by the water near the boats, and the food is super fresh and delicious.
