Walking over to the docks it was a challenge to find with the restaurant at the end of the pier with the limited signage. It was raining so maybe easier to locate on a sunny day. Upon entering staff was rude and seated us at a 2 seat table in the middle of the bustling dining room as opposed to a table along the wall (which there were several available). Server was pleasant but oddly wouldn't look at us -would speak while looking away. The coffee was flavorful and served piping hot but the espresso/latte machine was broken so limited to coffee and tea. Breakfast was delicious with the exception of the unimpressive luke warm potatoes/pan fries I didn't eat. Fresh eggs, ham, sourdough bread all delicious. Limited jellies (grape/strawberry) in small plastic package made by heinz. My daughter really enjoyed everything on her avocado toast meal. $47 seems steep for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast plates. Belle's is basic AF and in a good way- I can see why all the micro influencers want to go there for breakfast. Its right in a Marina, and overlooks working docks, so the view isn't amazing but its decent. The food was pretty basic and the drinks were your usual brunch go to's, but the service of our waitress which I wish i can remember her name was top notch. She was just great and made the experience better. We would only be back if she was there and if we had something going on in Newport and needed breakfast. The most disrespectful restaurant experience. We were told a table would take 45 minutes and we weren't seated until 2 hours later! We went back and checked in and they said "sorry people are moving, we can't do anything about that". There was no apology. The food as average. The worst is that the waitress charged our card more than the tip. We called the restaurant and they never returned the call. We dropped by Belle's at the suggestion of our trolley tour driver, Trolley Rob, as he said they have the best lobster roll in Newport. Not only was he right about the lobster roll, but they also have the best clam chowder. The lobster rolls have a lemon aioli that brings out the freshness of the meat & roll that's toasted perfectly. The clam chowder is so thick you can almost stand your spoon up in it & it's chock full of clams too. The ambiance is just want you want while eating a meal like this too as it's right on the water. Well, this place was fabulous! We walked up to get a table and it was going to be a 20 mins wait... we were the only ones on the list! They were understaffed, which is understandable now a days (thanks Covid/Pandemic). The host said we could go and get something togo and then sit next to the water under an umbrella. That's exactly what we did. The harbor was had very pleasant ambiance and had nice fresh air. The food didn't take long at all, maybe 10 mins! Our Togo Lady, Heidi, was super helpful and friendly/patient (my mom is in her 70's). The food was hot, fresh, succulent, and flavorful! Delicious brunch food. Good portion sizes, fair prices, a fun experience. It is a bit hard to find as it is located at the Newport shipyards, but all in all a solid meal to start the day off right. The omelette is perfect, well, just about anything you order will be. It was fun to eat facing the water, and you get relatively fast service to go along with it so you can continue on with your day without as much as a hiccup. A thumbs up from me. read more

Great spot for breakfast! I was within walking distance from our hotel and the walk there was very interesting as you're walking thru a ship yard with super gigantic cranes and boats of all sizes. My wife and I split the twin lobster rolls and we each had the clam chowder. All of it was very very good. I also had a cappuccino that woke me right up. My mom in law had a bacon omelette and my dad in law had a chorizo omelette- both enjoyed their food. I would very much recommend Belle's Cafe for their food and their view of the ship yard. Just remember that it is a seasonal restaurant as it appears to be completely outdoors so call ahead to make sure they're open and set up that reservation. read more

I have been wanting to try Belle's for years....we fitness walk by the shipyard almost every day. Today was the day and I am super happy and will return! First of all who wouldn't want to hang out along the water surrounded by insane boats! Secondly the service was very friendly, thirdly and most important is the food....delicious! My hubs had the Cubano which he totally enjoyed and I had a salad with arugula and a good sized piece of chicken encrusted in panko. It's dog friendly if you own a pup. Spent the weekend for the kite festival and decided to check this spot out as I saw it on a locals list of where to dine. Belle's did not disappoint! We got to check out the very very cool yachts and boats but more importantly we had a fantastic breakfast! The wacky waffles were to die for. I had a special of a French toast panini but it was stuffed with Brie, strawberries and bananas and holy crap, wow. My husband had the avocado toast with sunny side up eggs and I was mad cause I didn't even get to try it because he inhaled it. Service was outstanding, don't be put off for the wait, it was worth it. And mimosas that are fresh always taste better on the water. The vibe is chill and what I loved was I didn't feel rushed at all. 10/10 read more

Kelsey, our waitress was amazing! Very friendly and courteous. A stunning nautical theme, beautiful views. A light walk from parking on the side street. I had the lobster roll with a side of cucumber tomato salad in a vinaigrette with feta. It was sheer perfection and a delight for the taste buds. Placed a take out order at the window for 4 sandwiches. Said it would take a 1/2 hr. After waiting the 1/2 hr a staff worker came over to tell us they had no more corn-beef for the ruben and should have told us that when we placed the order. We said fine, replace it with turkey. We thought we would get our food shortly after that, we then had to wait 25 more minutes for our order. Food was definitely not worth the price or wait. The sandwich replaced with the turkey ruben was just turkey and toasted bread-no sauce or cheese on it. My lobster roll was nothing special and not worth the price. No apologies from the staff. Belles cafe is on a working boat dock with all outside seating. Monday at 10:30am was a 30 minute wait. Went for breakfast, but ended up having a mix of brunch. Food was very good and the service matched. I'm addition to our own meals we split an order of pancakes because we hear they had the "worlds best pancakes". I don't know about that, but they were outstanding. We will visit again. As a side note, I had my first authentic lobster roll. This is seriously a must for breakfast/lunch while in Newport! From great service to delicious food, you can't go wrong here. We had made a reservation since it is Covid time and we got seated quickly. Our waitress came over and got us waters and coffee. They even had iced coffee which was great on this humid day. It was our last morning in Newport and the food couldn't have been any better. The salmon I had atop their salad greens was perfectly cooked and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his Crabcakes Benedict. I was fortunate enough to be able to book a table for six the day before for brunch. We had to wait for our table since we did get there early and it was raining. Please note this was duting covid 19 pandemic and it was during the summer time. I did notice that they were quite a few people who did not make reservations and were turned away because they might have been too packed. we were seated at our table and the first thing that we noticed was that there were still some cups and utensils at our table and that our table was not wiped down before they seated us. We gently asked for them to wipe down the table before we were seated because we were very cautious about covid 19. We were able to place our order in a timely fashion. And we were able to get our food in a timely fashion. Since it was during the pandemic and we were outside all of our drinks were in plastic to go containers. I had ordered an omelette with spinach and mozzarella and inside order of pancakes. other individuals at my table also ordered omelettes as well as the steak scrambled special. across the board everyone really enjoyed their food. upon leaving we also did notice that there was a group of maybe eight individuals that were seated across from us and once they left their table a sign was put that the table was sanitized however we never saw them sanitize the table and they were still a little bit of a mess left on the table. we were hoping that that was the case just because the young lady might have been tired or forgot but it's very important to sanitize and clean the tables prior to a party arriving. one thing I need to mention the view was amazing the location was really superb. All in all would recommend it as a place to go for breakfast if you are in the area. I would just be very careful that the tables are clean prior to sitting down. Food was really good all around.
