I'm usually not the type of person to write a review, good or bad, but I have emailed and got a response that ultimately said "you can come in to get it done again free of charge but we don't offer refunds." When I first made the appointment, the "cart" read that the price of my balayage with a haircut would be $160, which it was not at the very end. When I sat down in the chair, I showed her a picture of what I wanted, a caramel balayage, something warmer for fall as I was blonde before. She pulled a few swatches which looked great and I had assumed, as any other person would, that the swatch she had chose, would be what my hair would look like, or similar...I was wrong. She came over with 2 bowls, one of bleach and one of brown (I still have yet to find any "new" brown on my hair). I was confused, but trusted the process because she's the stylist and knows what's best for the client. When she finished rinsing my hair out, we went over to her station to cut and style. She had asked if I wanted any layers and I said no as I've had a bad experience with them. She proceeded to give me long layers anyway. During the coloring process, she had asked me about my naturally curly hair and if I've ever thought about styling my hair in a way that it would enhance my curls. I said yes I've done it once but again had a bad experience so I wouldn't try it again. She had said okay. Fast forward to the styling process. I asked her if she could curl my hair, and from my understanding "curl" means with a curling iron, I thought that this was a universal definition for "curl". All of a sudden she's putting mousse and gel in my hair and curling my hair on her fingers. Instead of getting beach waves, my hair looked a mess. My hair became frizzy over time as I was driving home and honestly looked like I just rolled out of bed. I went home, rinsed my hair out with only water so it wouldn't ruin my 'color' and had to blow dry it and style it myself because I wasn't very happy with the outcome. The next day, I was looking in the mirror and really couldn't tell a difference in the color whatsoever, it looked the exact same as it did a week prior. I still don't know where the brown went that she had in the bowl or what happened to. my reference picture that I showed her. The color at my roots was not blended properly (I had consulted another stylist who is a family friend from home) and she agreed, as well as one side had more highlights on it then other. The back of my hair (color wise) didn't look like my reference which I understand it wouldn't the first time, but I was expecting it to look different then when I walked into the salon and it did not. I'm disappointed because I paid almost $250 for something I didn't and still don't like. Now I have to find someone else to fix it and pay again. When I emailed the salon, I was hoping some sort of compensation for something. I had mentioned in my email that I didn't want to return due to this experience. The proceeded to email back and offered me to come back in and they would do it free of charge. I almost think it would be giving them another opportunity to mess it up because no one likes to do their job without getting paid. Good news, the staff was really nice. I paid well over $100 plus a generous tip for my daughter to have a manicure and pedicure for her birthday and this is the result. Plus now 3 of the nails have lifted and several have chipped. To say I'm upset is a grand understatement. I'm hoping she won't lose her toenail over this. read more

This was my 2nd time here....first visit for eyebrows with Taylor. She did a great job, very friendly. The following day was my 2nd visit for my hair to be colored/cut and it was with Frannie. Frannie is wonderful! My color and cut were GREAT!!! I'm glad I was referred to Frannie as I am new to the area and needed a colorist. I was not about the $5 fee on both days for 'environmental payback' or whatever they are calling it. I was not told about it and after getting home from the first visit I called to inquire about my eyebrow cost; which is $16 on the website but was charged $21. That is when I was told about it. I know some businesses add a surcharge since covid, but some I don't agree with. As for this one, I do not agree with and they should absolutely be telling new clients what it is ,what it covers, and that you would be charged on each visit. If given the information, I would have tried to make my appointments on the same day. I feel it is unprofessional and needs to be addressed. I know a lot of people have been trying to increase tip amounts and support businesses during these times. So when the business adds a surcharge I can't help but wonder; do the employees benefit from the surcharge? Or do they lose out on a possible larger tip? So if you are thinking of trying this place out, let me at least be the one to forewarn you that you will be charged $5 for each visit. So if you are looking to do more than 1 service, you may want to try to do them in one day. After going back to the website I did see on the covid sheet you have to fill out is where they have placed the $5 charge - but no information on what it exactly is. A better place may be on the front page. Also, the person (I believe his name is Don, sorry if I am incorrect) who checked me in/out and did appointments was great....friendly and personable. I will return, as I love Frannie's work and I do think finding a colorist you love is important. I look forward to trying more services in the future; possibly a massage once the covid (and hopefully the $5 fees) restrictions lessen. read more

I do not have any photos of this place. But I will take some next time!! This place is clean, smells wonderful, and the environment is very inviting. I am very particular about who touches my hair and have been looking g for someone new for awhile. I made the appointment over the phone and just went. I was gritting my teeth all the way there. But once I walked in, I felt relieved! Front reception greeted me right away and asked if I had ever been served at their establishment. When I said no it was my first time there, She showed me where the restroom was and the waiting area was at; offered me a water or coffee and told me someone would be right with me. A few minutes later this sweet young lady came into the room and introduced herself and she took care of me thru the end. She was courteous and respectful of my views of what I wanted for my hair. I could t be happier! Courtney is my new hair girl and I am ecstatic that I found her! You will not be disappointed! read more

Very expensive! Often times the prices change on you at the register from what you were quoted by the stylist! I haven't been able to get the exact look and color I've been wanting for quite a while now. My stylist does a good job but I feel like I might have to search for a more experienced stylist to get exactly what I want and I hate to do that but I just can't afford to keep paying almost $200 and sometimes more (for color and highlights) to not get what I want & without a cut sometimes!! This was by far the worst hair cut of my life. I look like I have a mullet in the back ive never had any problems with the turkey creek but bearden is horrible!! She didn't even style it after and I paid $85 dollars for this. I've been in tears and dont want to leave the house because of this lady. I had an appointment for a cut and purple highlights yesterday. I showed the stylist a photo of what I wanted and gave the following additional information: I grabbed the sections of hair behind/below my ears and said I wanted "hidden" sections like in the photo. I said I wanted a vibrant purple. When she started doing the foils I noticed that she was doing some around the temple, which I hadn't asked for, but I thought, well, she's a professional and knows what will look good. I should have said something. After my hair color was sufficiently lifted from dark brown to blonde, the assistant rinsed my hair. I heard the stylist tell the assistant to towel dry my hair as much as possible and then apply a product in preparation for the purple. The assistant lightly squeezed my hair with a towel, but didn't really dry it. She applied the product and told me to go sit at the first station. When we got to the station, she told me to wait because the station wasn't ready. I was standing there, holding my dripping wet hair in my hand and getting the floor around me wet. The assistant finally had me sit in another station. She dried my hair with a blow dryer and then went to get the purple dye. The stylist had also told the assistant that she could use foils to apply the purple dye if that would make it easier for her. The assistant chose not to use foils. After applying the purple, the assistant applied a brown color gloss to the rest of my hair. It seemed like I had only been sitting for a very short while when the stylist came and told me she was going to rinse me. I would guesstimate that I had been sitting for 10 minutes. The stylist rinsed my hair then took me back to a different station for the cut. As she started working on cutting my hair, I noticed that the color that was supposed to be "vibrant purple" was very washed out and I saw a lot of blonde. I thought to myself, "surely she'll notice and say something." She didn't. When she was done, she asked me what I thought. I said it was pretty, but I didn't smile. Honestly, I was on the verge of tears and I didn't want to start crying, so I thought maybe I would just return for more color later. When I got in my car and took photos of the hair, I realized how awful the job was. Some of my roots were still blonde, a lot of sections of my hair were still blonde, and the color was extremely uneven. I also thought that the placement of the color right at my temples looked very silly and not at all like what I had requested. I felt like the bride of Frankenstein. I ended up going to a beauty supply store to get dye I have used before to try to fix the problem myself. The result was a vibrant purple (more like radiant orchid), but I just couldn't get over the fact that the streaks were right at the front of my face when I had said that I wanted them hidden. I tried to work with my hair to hide the streaks, but that was very hard to do. At that point, I sent the salon an email with photos of what I requested and what I ended up with as a result. After an evening of crying and trying to figure out what I was going to do, I decided to call the salon and ask them if I could just get my hair dyed brown to get back to acceptable state. After I left that message, I decided I would just do it myself. I was honestly embarrassed to leave the house looking the way I did. I have since dyed my hair dark brown and I'm glad that the debacle is over, but I am submitting this review because it is the second major problem with color I have had at this location. Right as I was finishing this review, I received a call from someone I presume to be a manager or responsible for customer service. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile! They took care of me as soon as I got in, showed me where the bathroom was and has me fill out my paperwork for my massage. The man who did my massage (I think his name is Blake?) was amazing! He was so friendly and my massage was perfect. He even informed me of the couples massages they have there, so I'll definitely be bringing my husband next time! And the woman who did my pedicure (her name started with a J I think!) she was super friendly and let me vent to her and my pedicure was perfect. She made sure that nothing was too hot and made sure I was happy with the color and how I looked on my feet before I left. I definitely recommend this spa/salon to anyone! The facility is clean and the stylists were nice; however, while my hair looks decent I didn't receive the color I requested. I gave previous pictures of what another stylist did to my hair last year and what I received today is few shades darker. I couldn't really tell in the salon due to the lighting so I didn't say anything while I was there, but now that I have been able to see it in different lighting at home I am disappointed. I also felt that the salon is misleading with their pricing. Their website lists one price for balayage, but they gave me pre-receipt that was $25 more before my consultation, so they increased the price without knowing what my balayage entailed. They also charged $25 for toner and $10 for having to use an extra bowl on my hair. Other salons I have been to include the toner as part of the balayage price because it is necessary to achieve appropriate coloring. Even with that in mind, I would have been fine with these extra charges if I was told about them BEFORE they were rendered. I wasn't told that she needed to use an extra bowl or that the toner she used was an extra charge until my hair was done and I had no choice but to pay for it. If they want to charge for products in an a la carte method, then the customer should be informed of these up-charges on their website, after their consultation, and during the hair process. read more

Terrible experience. Have used Salon Aquarius, Salon Visage, Regis, and other salons in Knoxville area and have had great experiences. Used Bella for a shampoo and style and requested teasing. Hair looked terrible and Nicole didn't know how to tease. Would not recommend. Did not have time and had to go home and redo hair. Called to complain and their customer service person was out today. read more
