The lanes are nice and wide and the pool is in good condition. I came in for the lap swim on a Monday morning at 8am and I easily found a lane just to myself. The staff is super friendly and personable. They say hi and welcome you, which made me feel very safe and happy to be there. The men's locker room and showers are do for an upgrade and the water in the shower was freezing, or as my friend says, invigorating! I waited a bit for it to warm up with no luck. The staff here are super friendly I called them on the phone to get information about the building and things they had to offer. When I got to the facility, they were just as nice and amazing people in person. When I went, it was about a month before Halloween and they had it decorated for Halloween and the fall holidays in general, which was very fun to see. I had asked about a changing table since I have a small child and sadly they do not have a changing table, not their idea as they wanted a changing table when they remodeled the changing rooms but the city said no. (city of Bellflower if you see this, give them a changing table. In both men and women's! It is very much a necessity!!!) So even though it was possible for me to change my young child on the countertop they had I also felt very unsafe changing my wiggly child there because I was unable to strap him down. I could have changed him in a stall but no mother will want to change their child's diaper on the floor unless they know it was recently cleaned which I am sure no place has time to do constantly. (AGAIN BELLFLOWER A NECESSITY!) Outside that my son had a great time playing in the water. It was his first time in a pool and it was great. I would say I wish the water was heated for him but it isn't terrible for adults. Looking forward to going back again to play in the water. read more

The pool is nice but the locker rooms are FILTHY! Hair everywhere on the floors, especially in the showers. It doesn't look like anyone ever cleans in there. Absolutely disgusting. For that reason alone, I'd go somewhere else. read more

I come here now for lap swimming. They have a multi-use card (10 visits) which is $20 - I get the senior discount which makes it even more reasonable. They follow COVID guidelines strictly. The staff is always fully masked. They spray all the surfaces (Hand rails, ladders, bleachers) in between sessions. The Lap Swimming/ water walking days are M/W/F starting at noon and going to like 7p, and Saturday from 7a - like noon. They let you in on the hour, and you need to get out of the pool at 45/50 so they can sanitize and get ready for the next group. The changing rooms and showers are not currently available due to COVID - but the restrooms are open. You have to make reservations and space is very limited as they maintain 6-ft distance - so they only use every other lane at this time. It's a full size pool. The staff is very nice. Your reservation is for a specific lane and the welcome you into the pool area in lane assignment order with the larger numbers first. So you line up at your lane assignment pylon and are let in - one person at a time. They take your temperature and punch your card and you're in! read more

Nice place for an event, easy access from the 105 or 91 freeway. There is both an outdoor and indoor pool. The downside to the venue is there is no scoreboard or visual timing mechanism to see from the stands. There is also no a lot of available parking. I absolutely love it. The pool therapy is amazing. I can walk in the pool 1 1/2 miles. However, I can't walk 1 mile on the sidewalk. I know that I'll continue with the water therapy and build stronger muscles in my legs and joints. I wish the pool was open 5 days a week @7a.m. for walking. However, 3 days a week is making a tremendous difference in my gait so far. The staff is helpful. I'm pleased. read more

Came here for a swim meet with our team and was not very impressed. The parking is woefully inadequate and forced us to do a passenger drop off and sent the driver home. Parking was non-existent within a quarter mile. The whole vibe here is one of an aging, past it's prime facility. Probably the best in the area in 1960. That said, the water was clean and of a decent temperature, and all of the race equipment seemed to be working well. However, there was no way to hear the announcements unless you were right by the blocks. There was also no timing clock to see your time. You have to ask when you get out of the pool. Again, very 1960. I would give this place 4 stars if this was a purely recreational review. However, they do participate in competitive swim meets and for that I can only offer 2. I'm glad our team only comes here once a year and will reconsider coming back next time. read more

The indoor facility wasn't open, but the outdoor pool is perfect. It is big enough, plenty of room for the loungers and enough lap lanes and the lifeguards seemed cool (no micro-managing). Went here a couple of days ago... Water is warm, I don't think I've ever gone to any pool that has water this warm. I'm not complaining, I HATE cold water. Pool was not crowded, mostly seniors come here. 2 lifeguards on deck (even if they were talking to each other most of the time) They have 2 pools, one inside, one outside. The inside was closed so we swam in the outside pool. Pool was REALLY dirty. They need some maintenance because I don't think I've ever seen a pool with that many leafs in my life and I've been swimming for about 15 years now. The showers have cold and warm water, restrooms and locker rooms were clean. $2.00 from 11-1pm for non residence. Their lap swim is from Monday to Thursday. read more

I want people to know how dirty this place is. Poop in the pool. Of course this isn't the facilities fault however, they handled it poorly. Asking everyone to move to the other side of the pool while they remove the turd is not enough. They should've had everyone get out of the water while they pumped the pool with chlorine and then let everyone back in when the chlorine levels were safe to swim in again. Simply having everyone just move to one side is gross. There's so many health hazards there. read more

I have been coming here for years. I started classes with my son at the age of three. The instructors here are great most of them are young and in High school, but they are very mature. My son requires a little extra help, and they have been accommodating from the beginning! His instructor Megan is awesome and is really great with kids, and very understanding of my son. read more

Nothing pretentious about this place. The staff is nice and leave you alone unlike other pools that I have been to where the staff pretend to be expert swimmers and stare at your every move. The restroom can be cleaner. Entrance fee is only $1.50 for residence and $2.00 for non-residence. The biggest advantage for this pool is that the temperature is always warm. I've never been to a pool that keeps it as warm as they do. Good place to swim regardless of your swimming level. read more

So I decided to take the kids to cool off, but boy did I get the worse treatment of my life. I had to basically beg for info about the place. Some girl name Sarah in the from office would give me information about the place in bits. About price of admission, hours etc. So I waited 30 minutes in the lobby so I won't lose my space in line. All of a sudden around 20 people start lining up outside the entrance door, and a lady named Christina comes out and tell me that I have to wait outside and now I have to go back to the end of the line (are you freaking serious?). The girl in the office got my money for the resident cards 30 minutes ago and couldn't tell me that when I was in front of her the whole time!!! There was no sign saying wait outside! And then they tell me they're sorry!!!.....no, they are not sorry. You know who is sorry?..my children. Thanks, but no thanks...never again. We just left! read more

I've been swimming at Thompson Pool since I was a kid and now as and adult. The Staff then and the staff now are the BEST. They truly can't do a better job. Who ever is in charge of adding the staff continues to add GREAT people. I have a membership to a top of the line fitness club and I find myself ditching it for this place. There is a very peaceful atmosphere about this place and I truly will continue to take advantage of it. read more

Extremely rude. High suggest to look for another aquatic center. The female at the front desk first told me that the recreational swimming was at 12pm and it was 12:06 and I went to ask again if were allowed to go in and she says "sorry it opens at 12:30". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I mean she saw me waiting in there and she couldn't let me know ? 12:26 and I'm still waiting, another female walks out the office and told us to wait outside.
