I've been coming here for several years off and on and well this year was the worst. I started coming the week of their grand opening and liked the selection and service but as I have gotten older the service isn't there when your vision gets blurred and can't see as well as you did in your youth and tell the Dr I need stronger prescription because I can't see to good in my glasses. The Dr ignored me during the exam my concerns because I'm diabetic and vision is blurred but she made my glasses and I can't see the street signs or even read a sales ad with the prescription she wrote this is a disservice to patients that need vision correction. read more

Update post. Ive been coming here for quite sometime. Vanessa no longer works here but the new staff are kind and sincere please dont be harsh to them as they know they have some big shoes to fill lol. As far as discounts go, I know Vanessa would give them but as everything now. Things have gotten more expensive and insurance companies arent giving discounts which she used to provide. Please remember to have manners when coming. Ive seen and heard some foulness from customers. They are human and are trying their best just like anyone else. I've been going here for years and it's been declining, the customer service and professionalism are definitely not what it was before Covid. I used to love this place, but now I am looking for a new optometry and today was the icing on the cake. I went to pick up my glasses and the hours are 9-4pm, I arrived at 2:50pm and they are Closed. I had a great experience here in 2019 but I was extremely disappointed today. Funny to read that this happened to someone else, a few reviews down below, and extremely disappointing to read the response from the business owner. It sounds defensive and again clearly a lack of accountability. I had a scheduled appointment from 2 weeks ago. I made all these arrangements - switched schedules around - to show up, I even showed up early. To our surprise, they do not see my daughter because supposedly her insurance card was outdated. I have not made any changes to her insurance and we have been using her insurance with no problems anywhere else. The girl at the front states they had checked a few days ago (on Wednesday, today is Friday 3:30) and that's why they SENT ME A TEXT (see below) to bring her card. I brought her card, that's not the problem. What they needed to do is CALL ME AND EXPLAIN THE ISSUE so that I would have figured it all out prior to me getting to the appointment on time. We could have cancelled and/or rescheduled via a phone call. She said in order for my daughter to be seen I had to call her insurance for the updated information. Everyone knows the likelihood of this being corrected on a Friday late afternoon is nearly impossible. It was a complete waste of my time. The only thing the office admin said is 'I'll make sure my coworker knows for next time'. That did nothing for me. There was no acknowledgement for wasting my time, no remorse or professionalism whatsoever. read more

I used to love this place when Vanessa was there. I found her the most helpful and she was very attentive. After she left, there were these other 2 gentlemen which were okay. I decided to give them one last chance. This last time is was a younger female and male receptionist, not attentive at all, did not greet us, they seemed overwhelmed and it almost felt like they were being bothered. To top it off, they had very limited supply of glasses/sunglasses. I have really good insurance and I hate to be wasting it on a place that offers so little. I think business owners need to train staff on good customer service skills to keep business, because a simple welcome would have gone a long way. read more

Eye doctor (older woman) did not take my concerns seriously and had very little empathy. I was told they would be getting a new shipment of glasses so they recommended I wait to pick some, I Called and they gave me the run around again and said they'd call me fast forward to a month and half later, they told me they no longer accepted my insurance. So I waited over a month just to hear that and I had to get my glasses somewhere else. Bad business! I also paid over $400 for my contacts ($432 to be exact) 6 month supply and just found them online for $272 (6 month supply exact same contacts) . Insane! Then, I waited over 1 month for my contacts, when I called they said somebody called me but I can guarantee that never happened. So many other eye doctors around, would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been practically blind so long I just settled in the fog, then a distant face appears and as it starts to smile, the fog clears up and I can see again! This face was Vanessa! Let's start off with, I love that they take walk-ins. Sometimes I don't like appointments and just want to do things in the spur of the moment. So it goes after a bad day and hanging out with a friend to cheer me up. So emo lol. I drove by my optometrist and thought, "Hey, it's about time I go again why not now." So I walked in and was able to be seen. Dr was nice and friendly. (^_^) After the eye exam, I was handed off to Vanessa to help pick the proper contacts for me. I haven't had color in a while and wanted to try it again. I have astigmatism so colored contacts are limited and pricey. Luckily she wasn't all about the $$$ and was able to give me honest answers and suggestions. I was able to try on the colors available and sat there for a good time trying to decide. Since she was so honest I thought I'd lay it on her that I hate my glasses and asked why when I pay to get them thinned out they're still thick. She explained to me the shape of the lens before they are cut and how to choose the right frames to prevent them from coming out so thick. Mind blown.. I never knew and no one ever told me all these years I was wearing coke bottles glasses. She took her t in me and helped me look through multiple frames to find the right one. I added on a pair of glasses and they came in quite quick.. let me tell you. I love them!!! They're so thin and dont even stick out.. HUGE difference from my last few pairs. Gosh I was so excited! I would give them 0 stars if I could. It actually blows my mind how incompetent the staff is... I do not normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to. 1. My glasses are extremely distorted where I can't see from my peripherals and reading is pretty difficult. I have never experienced this before, but I was told "oh, you will get used to them". It's been 2 years and yup still can't see. I bought prescribed sunglasses from LensCrafters with the same features (thinner lens, less scratching, etc.) and prescription, but I can for some reason see clearly and with no problems. 2. I bought a year's supply of contacts and was only given half a year. When I asked about it the receptionist apologized and said they were in backorder. She called a week later and said THEY WERE JUST BEHIND THE DRAWER??? she apologized and promised to compensate for her mistake by giving me points for the Bausch + Lomb reward system thing? She told me all I had to do was email her. I did an hour after she said so and never received a response. 3. I mentioned that I still can't see clearly with my glasses and the lady, the same lady who lost my contacts in her drawer, drew a dot on my glasses. That was it? She never said anything about fixing it or anything. Just drew dots lol. Not sure if I am missing something here, but seems like she just wanted to bs and not do work. I have only visited about 3 times: to get my eyes checked, to pick my glasses/contacts, and to pick up my "left behind a drawer" contacts. I'm curious if the staff are actually incompetent or just lazy. Could be a mixture of both. It also surprises me how people are giving them 5 stars when even my father had terrible experiences here. Something about how they switched the contacts so his right contact was supposed to be for his left eye and vice versa. I'm not sure if you guys want people who can't tell their left from their right working on your eye, but you do you. But I guess the only pro is that they have a nice selection of glasses. If you like wasting gas and being lied to this is a FANTASTIC practice! read more

Not only does their selection include all the top brand glasses, the customer service is Great! They have state of the art equipment and they take most insurances. The decor is calm, serene and inviting. Dr. Nguyen was thorough, and explained the examination procedures every step of the way. Morena (sp) worked the front office on the day of my visit and she was very helpful and honest assisting me with my frame selection. Although my heart is still set on those Red Carpet Melodies by MJB, i was in need of an upgrade on my shades. They had a bogo (buy one, get one half off) deal going so I opted for the oversized maroon Gucci shades & some slate black Michael Kors shades (also oversized, but proportionately perfect for my face) I see myself being a long time patient of Bellflower Optometry. read more

Unfortunately, the receptionist did not give me accurate information nor did she check my insurance in advance and therefore wasted my time. I have two insurances for my son and neither one of them were checked prior to my arrival. When I arrived, I waited over thirty minutes before she attempted to contact my insurance only to find they were closed on Saturdays. In addition, she gave me the wrong information concerning my other insurance. Since time is so precious, this incident truly bothered me. Be cautious not to waste your time and to ensure you receive accurate information. And to make it worse, one of employees wrote below that they did ask for my information when they did NOT. There is no reason for me to lie. Not only did they waste my time but they are insulting and show no remorse for their mistakes. I found a wonderful optometry called DOWNEY VISION OPTOMETRY. Dr. Jenny Q. B. Tiet was so attentive, took the time to work with my daughter and her new contacts and was both friendly and welcoming to my son and I. After a HORRIBLE experience at Target Optical in Cerritos, I decided to shop around for eyeglasses & sunglasses......I walked into Sears Optical, JC Penny Optical & LensCrafters & was disgusted at the slim pickings I had to choose from for both. GEEZ the corner gas station has more choices for sunglasses. So, thanks to GOOD OL' YELP* I managed to find Bellflower Optometry.......SO MANY CHOICES & Reyna was AMAZING! So helpful, friendly, patient & professional. We managed to pick out a GREAT pair of eyeglasses & sunglasses for me & I need to say............I ended up paying over $100 LESS than Target. We came in on a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad to say we have found an optometrist we can trust! Dr Cam Nguyen was very thorough and patient with my 3 young kids... the first time they were made comfortable enough to sit through an entire eye exam... she's great with kids! And for me, she explained her procedures well and was great at answering all my questions. Her office nice and clean, just as you would expect it to be, and the staff was professional and courteous. I've been bringing my daughter here for her routine check-ups. Her eye sight has been getting a little bit worst every year, so needless to say they offered her new corrective contacts called Ortho-k. At first I was skeptical, I mean contacts that correct your eye sight as you sleep? And you take them off in the A.M.? On top of them being a bit pricy I wasn't sure what the Cons of these new contracts were. As I read more and more about it I was convinced and gave them a shot, after all it is her eye sight, right?! What's the worst that could happen? Her eye sight doesn't improve, but it doesn't get worst! Two weeks into her having them (of course after undergoing several eye exams to determine if she was a candidate for them) her eye sight is improving. She has returned since and has as of today 20/20 vision. Baa-bye glasses and daily contacts, she is off to a clear sight and couldn't be happier. read more

Dr. Nguyen works miracles. But let me start at the beginning. I had two corneal transplants. My Ophthalmologist told me to see Dr. Nguyen if I wanted to see normal again. Well you don't say no to that opportunity. I set up an appointment, and after a through analysis she recommended custom contacts which she would design and have made. Two weeks later I went back and tried them on (I never had contacts before and was very concerned about having something in my eyes all the time). Dr Nguyen put them in for me, I looked at her and almost cried. I could see everything clear, even better then before my operations. She is an expert at her craft. What I thought was perfect, she said needed a little adjustment before SHE would be satisfied. Dr. Nguyen said I could use the contacts while she had a better set made. When she finished, the contacts where wonderful, I did not even know I had anything in my eyes they were so comfortable. She also had glasses made should I need to remove my contacts for any reason. They were very good also BUT not like my custom contacts. Thank you so much Dr. Nguyen. That's my story, now I refer you back to the first sentence. read more

Not only do they have the newest digital and computerized test equipment, but They bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. Once my new glasses reading lens had an incorrect focal length, (I couldn't focus on my computer screen 3 feet away), and they sent the glasses back to the factory to have the lenses re-ground. All at no cost to me. Other businesses would have tried to make me feel guilty. But not here. Dr. Nuyet sure knows her stuff, and when the lenses get loose, Vanessa the receptionist has always tightened them with a smile. read more
