These "movers" did not use any packing material and warned me not to move things because of lack of packing material, they refused to assemble and disassemble simple furniture, the movers were not professionals and were friends "just helping out", showed up over 3 hours late, drove into and damaged a concrete retaining wall, damaged a door, damaged my walls, broke my bannister by pushing a mattress against the banister to flip it over the bannister rather than simply carrying it up the stairs, carried boxes upside down, slammed items and boxes down, while cursing and complaining the whole time. The movers even made comments about me to each other that was deeply unsettling. While Bellhop agreed to issue refunds, it is now refusing to honor those refunds. I haven't been compensated for any of the damage to my property or items damaged in the move. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! I had an extremely easy move that was completed in under the 3 hour mimum, which was paid upfront(which was supposed to be authorization, only, but whatever ). They ended up charging me an extra $600 after the move concluded, with zero explanation. I've called 10 times while being hold for 40minutes+ each time. I have yet to speak to a human being. Its like their phone lines play hold music forever on end, with no intention in answering calls. I had to go a round about way to even find how to reach out to support. The chat feature doesn't work either. Ironically, my move went very smooth. No issues with my movers. I watched the mover scan my QR code when the move completed, and yet bellhop decided to charge for an additional 2ishhours for whatever reason. Also, I reached out for a refund for a portion of the time that was extended due to the mover going to wrong location(via email to support). They gave me a refund for that, but then said that's all they can refund. SAY WHAT!? Such a scam of a company. Also Jaime this sales representative was very patient, helpful in answering any question I had about this long-distance move and Jaime's voice was very calming and I felt very comfortable in speaking to him on Monday on March 20, 2023. I asked Jaime a lot of questions about this long distance move to another state in Kansas City, Missouri. My first question was I asked Jaime this sales person, What is the process for me to relocate from my local city in Oceanside, CA to another place in Kansas City, Missouri? Jaime said with this Bellhop Moving Company, they don't have a crew of (two men movers) who work in the Oceanside, CA area, so (I would have to either hire 2 men or ask 2 of my men good friends) who live in Oceanside, CA to help me load a (26 foot rental truck) that will be provided to me for my personal things, light furniture and my office equipment into this (26 foot rental truck). Jaime said that Then I told Jaime that I will also need to have my car transported in this long-distance move to Kansas City, Missouri and what is the process that will be used to transport my car in a secure and safe manner? Jaime said my car will be loaded onto a flat bed trailer from this Moving Service that has an active contract with the Bellhop Moving Company. I asked how much will this service cost me to load my car onto a trailer? Jaime said the price is either $1,200.00 to $1,300.00. My car will be secured down with these nylon straps with these hooks at the end of each strap for all 4 wheels. I asked Jaime, is there Insurance on transporting my car on this flat bed trailer for this long-distance move to another state? Jaime said yes and this Moving Service is completely Insured so if anything does happen to my car during this relocation my car will be fully covered. I thought this is good information for me to know about my move. I asked Jaime how many days will it take for my personal items to be moved from CA to MO? Jaime said it's going to take about (3 days) for these 2 men to unload my personal things to Kansas City, MO. I asked Jaime to give me a Free Estimated Cost on this long-distance move. Jaime said the total cost will be $9,000.07. This cost is a little cheaper than World Class Movers would be charging me $9,836.69. This Bellhop Moving Company is only cheaper because I will have to hire (2 men to move my personal things) into this rental truck or I have to ask (2 men friends) to move my things into this (26 foot rental truck). This Bellhop Moving Company this sales representative, Jaime said I will have to put down a 10% deposit, when I reserve a (specific date and time) that I will be relocating from my home to another location. Then after my long-distance move is completed I will have to pay the rest of this 90% payment to Bellhop Moving Company. Jaime stated to me that it will take their 2 men crew, 3 days later to unload all of my personal things and to have my car transferred to another area. The World Class Movers the owner Andre said he has his own people who are 2 men employees who will do all the moving in loading my personal things and anything else. This (Rental Truck) is provided with World Class Movers and its included with their total cost. Jaime this sales representative gave me excellent customer service during our cell phone conversation on Monday, March 20, 2023. Then Jaime said to give him 3 days notice a head of time to book my space on the specific date and time. Jaime also said he will need the new address of this location on where my personal items will need to be unloaded and move into an apartment or a rented house. I had used Bellhop about 6 years ago and it was amazing. This time however, my move was scheduled for 4 hours and took under that, but when I got my bill it was for over 5 hours. They claim that the move started at 8:30 but it was more like 8:55 as I recall but I have no proof of that, so I will accept 8:30, but then they are claiming the move didn't end until 1:40 but it was done by 12:20 which I can prove because they sent the email to review the movers and tip right after the movers left at 12:20. We booked with Bellhop for a move. The reservation was for the 20th of December at 2pm. I was charged in advance for the move which I had no problem with. The reservation was for 2 26 ft trucks 5 movers and 5 hours. The team was over 2 hours late and showed up high, could smell the marijuana. They only brought 1 26 ft trucks and a small 10 ft box truck. We had every box ion main floor to make as easy as possible. I said the entire contents wouldn't fit with the trucks that they brought. They assured me it would. The proceeded to roughly load trucks and broke and scared furniture. Only half of our items fit and when I said you'll have to make a second trip they said it would be extra and got very threatening over it. They brought the items they had loaded leaving other half at house. When unloading again were rough with stuff and only brought into garage. I had to rent a truck and finish loading the rest of our stuff myself along with hauling everything from garage to the rooms of the new house. I am a disabled veteran that has a very bad back that struggles with lifting and carrying, which is why I hired a moving company. When I called bellhop they informed me that they could only reimburse me 250.00 of a 2600.00 dollar move saying that was fair compensation. I explained I wanted half back because they only moved half my stuff and they rudely informed me it wasn't going to happen and I could sue them. Which I plan to do !!! Careless movers and drivers. Do yourself a favor and either choose another company or pay the crazy insurance cost because YOU WILL NEED IT. Our damaged things were not so heavy that you would drop it but it was handled carelessly. Seen with our own eyes. My in laws hired this company. Messed up their carpet because they did not wear booties over their dirty shoes when they came in the house to move stuff. Had to pay to get the carpet cleaned again. The day prior, Bellhop called me and asked me to move my time to the afternoon, which was not possible due to timing of my trailer pickup. The representative said, "ok" and hung up. Ok, was I getting movers or not? I had to call twice and was finally assured that I was getting movers on the day/time I scheduled, but these movers were 3rd party hires, not Bellhop folks (as it turns out, I think all Bellhops are 3rd party hires through contracts that Bellhop has with these 3rd parties). The movers showed up on time and did a good job (I packed my own stuff & they loaded my trailer); however, they didn't clock out when they told me they were going to (they were close, but over), and Bellhop happily charged me extra. The truck and entire team was there by our start time of 8am and I was FLOORED at the amount they got done in such a small period of time. They loaded our entire ranch 3-bedroom home, garage, basement, and appliances in the 27-foot truck within the hour. The guys were so kind and eager to help. It took them another hour to unload the truck and take all of our belongings to their rooms. We moved into a 2-story home, and it didn't phase them at all. Bellhop is the absolute worst moving company ever! Do not. I repeat do not use them. They truly deserve zero stars. They mostly use third party companies to move your belongings. The men who show up are either several hours late or they don't show up at all. The men who show up also don't have moving experience so when they pack your belongings, things ended up damaged. They broke my brand new dresser because they placed it in the moving truck on its side instead of just leaving it upright and sliding it on the truck. My move was very expensive nearly 1,000 and Bell hop only credit me $350 for the broke dresser and for men who with showed up later or didn't show up at all. I've used Bellhops three times in two years, and I'm a fan. The college aged kids are incredibly professional and efficient. I've also had the same gentleman as my mover (lol he remembered me and my stuff) twice in a row a year apart, and I've never had a problem with them. Make sure to leave them a big tip--they're just kids and they do a great job. Additionally, in two of the three times I've had them, they had someone shadow the move to help train. I found out that that person usually doesn't get paid like the rest of them, so really, drop them a tip. read more

The ABSOULTE WORST COMPANY! I have used many times over the years, but something has changed. I had difficulty even booking the move that should have been my red flag. I booked 2 months ahead of the move. Then on move day THE MOVERS NEVER SHOWED! was booked at 0800 then at 0845 they called saying they were "Double booked" and moved me to 1400. Then at 1400 they were " on their way" same at 1445 while I heard children playing in the background. At 1500 they stopped responding to me. Paying $83 per hour for the contractors while charging the customers over double the price and not doing any of the work . The name of my moving company is Haul Pros LLC , during 2024 we did over 50 moves for Bellhop becoming there top pro. during our business observed, they get very little detail. They do not care about their contractors or their clients as our partnership ending due to Bellhop charging a client over 4,000 dollars and paying us only $900 in which we told Bellhop we didn't have two 26" trucks available during the date they needed however they had no other movers and told us to go with the smaller truck this caused big issues with the client that was a veteran. They took $300 out of our pay and they took no lost . This has been a persistent thing with Bellhop them doing whatever to book a job and once it's booked, they do not care about the client or the contractor so in all if you're looking for a moving company, please do not use Bellhop they own no trucks and have no moving cruise. I had reasonable hopes for Bellhops as a professional solution to meet my modest moving needs (1000k sqft Apartment). The associates that ended up showing up an an hour late ended were very hard workers, but had little experience. What resulted was damage to furniture, floors, walls and boxes left behind outdoors, and me buying two wood staining pens. First off- there was no communication when the team was running late; a half hour after the team was scheduled to show, I called the 888 number for confirmation; the hotline associate said that they would call back after getting an update from the Team Lead. I never heard back. An hour later the moving team showed up and blamed the hotline for not being transparent. Entirely understandable that plans change- but a lack of customer care is inexcusable in an era where one can call, text, or alert clients via an app. The movers eventually adjusted the times they clocked in- but this was far from the end of the issues. Damages. To plates. To floors. To a BRAND NEW COUCH. Abrasions, punctures, indents, damaged trim. Please, take a moment to look at the pictures. Yes, that is a fist mark in the side of my couch, thanks for noticing! I contacted their Customer Care line, once again, for damage to the couch alone--- and they offered to deduct $90.00 from my move to compensate for the damage. Fair compensation for a piece of furniture that was worth thousands of dollars? You decide for yourself. And, if you are still reading this- you deserve a cherry on top of it all- my old landlord found a box of my clothes sitting underneath the patio side entrance that was left out in the snow. This review is two fold: 1) about the movers' skill; and 2) about the claims process / limits on "big" items. I scheduled 2 moves with this company. The first move I would have rated a 4 star - they were pretty good. But they did try and jam a sofa up a staircase causing lots of damage to the walls. The second move was TERRIBLE. The movers had no idea how to move big items, they didn't know how to use appliance dollies, and their regular dolly was broken. The didn't listen to me,and tried to take appliances up the wrong staircase without measuring all the openings, and got it stuck, causing LOADS of damage. Now, I have a brand new property with 5 beat up appliances - and the Customer Service lady is saying I am limited to $.70 PER POUND!! WTH!! So I have a banged up fridge that cost me $2,000 - and I am getting reimbursed MAX $200 because of the fridge's weight. Next time, I guess I should have put dumbells in the fridges!! So sad because I was going to use this company for 6 moves in 2 months- and many more in the future - but because of their reimbursement policy, they cut off their nose to spite their face. :( read more

We booked and paid for a move weeks in advance (almost $700)and they called and cancelled 2 hours before they were supposed to show up with 3 movers and the uhaul. With this cancellation being last minute and at the beginning of the month when lots of people move it was impossible to book another company. We also had to drive a considerable amount of miles to go get a uhaul because all of them were pretty much in use around the city or outrageously large and $1000 or more. We missed appliance deliveries to our new place and have to wait until the middle of the month for redelivery because Bellhops idiotic incompetence putting us behind schedule. Also, I am pregnant and very high risk and this was extremely stressful. And worst of all I had to call people last minute on a weekday morning for help moving. After a lengthy hold, I got connected with a manager and all she was good at was apologizing. Apologies don't move furniture though . She released our funds but we still have to wait 3 to 5 days for the banks to release. She also mentioned they have continuous staffing issues. BUT THAT IS NOT THE PAYING CUSTOMERS PROBLEM!!!It is your responsibility as a business to have effective plans in place to insure things like this don't happen in the first place and if things do happen it is THE BUSINESSES RESPONSIBILITY to fix it ASAP!!! Worst moving experience of my life! A move that should have taken 2-3 hours took over 5 and it still wasn't completed. The crew of 4 young men worked harder but not smarter and didn't seem to have experience moving furniture. .They struggled for 30 minutes to get a dresser upstairs, but refused to take the drawers out to make it lighter. They placed my cream colored couch on its end on a dirty front porch. They shattered a switch plate, gouged a door, the ceiling and a stair bannister. They scraped walls and trim, left a gouge in a dresser, dirty hand prints on the walls and in general, caused damage at both the property I left and the one I moved into. Two of the young movers were really trying hard and were polite., although still inexperienced. The other two were dropping the F bomb and playing rap music that was filled with expletives on the truck. At the end of the day, they left the couch cushions in the kitchen, didn't set up any of the upholstered furniture, and left. One of them had his girlfriend in the car across the street at both locations. You should know that this is not a moving company. The truck and driver come from one place (mine had the name of a delivery company on it) and all of the movers show up in their own vehicles. They appear to be young high school or college age kids who have little training or experience in moving. The move was handled in a very unprofessional manner and I have refused to pay the additional cost that is due because the move took longer than the bid called for. The company tells me that I cannot start the claims process for the damages until I pay the bill, so we may end up in small claims court. I'm really having a hard time believing all of the glowing reviews considering my experience. 1. I scheduled an 8am move time and someone called two days before the move to say they didn't have enough trucks, so they'd need to reschedule me for 2pm. 2. Ten minutes before the move I was informed that one of the three movers wasn't showing up, so we wouldn't be charged for three people. Gee, thanks. 3. The movers were sweet kids, but far from professional. They dropped several boxes and I kept hearing, "Oops, sorry," throughout the move. 4. There was a "glitch in their computer system" so the quote that was emailed to me was incorrect, but I was told that because they quoted the correct price over the phone and they had a recording of me agreeing to it, that they wouldn't honor the price from the email. What business holds a phone call above a written document? 5. They charged my credit card the amount they thought was correct without waiting until I spoke to the manager as I requested. To be honest I was just tired of calling and being transferred to different people. The fact that I'd just purchased a new home and had so many other things to handle caused me to just let the issues go and not pursue further actions (including calling the Better Business Bureau, which I still think I should do), but I was overcharged $150 and had several broken items. Bellhop provided moving service on recent relocation for our Mom into an Independent Senior Center. The quote and reservation processes were easy. Bellhop provided us with names and photos of our crew prior to moving day. They showed up on time and were efficient. A deep small divot was made in the sheetrock wall next to our staircase when they were carrying down a heavy dresser. Erik and Ryan were accommodating, polite & friendly to us as well as the staff at the Senior Center. They helped rearrange furniture at our request in Mom's new home too. There was a third team member, the driver, but we didn't interact with him since he did not come into our home or the senior center. They showed up wreaking of pot. Didn't try to be safe with how they carried anything including expensive furniture. I had no idea how unprofessional they would be or I would have gone with someone else. They sat around on their phones at different points wasting over 30 minutes. They showed up late but charged me for the full hour. They left early but rounded up to the next 30 minutes. They damaged an expensive mid century modern cabinet. It was our tv stand. They set it down wrong which broke a leg and destroyed the bottom. They assured me they had insurance. They documented it and said I would be contacted. After a couple weeks I emailed them and they said it was too late for a claim. After calling the reversed it and after another month of bs process they gave me $130 for my $500 furniture. Which I had to go replace. The entire reason I got movers was because I have an ankle injury and wasn't aloud to lift anything. I still had to go replace furniture and lift it. I hate this place. I have never hired movers before... but decided to get some help loading our truck. Hired two guys for an hour just to load up from our home to our moving truck AND IT WAS ONLY $99. And let me tell you... WORTH EVERY PENNY. Ryan was prompt and even showed a little early to help evaluate and make a game plan. He and Peerless worked their tails off loading our stuff and knocked it out in an hour. They were kind, hardworking, and moved all our stuff with an amazing attitude. I will be hiring them again.
