This was our first experience with hiring a moving team and mainly did it solely because of the heavy/awkward bed frame, mattress and love seat that we have. Our move wasn't huge but it included the items mentioned above plus enough boxes, TVs, and other items to fill a 10x12 storage unit to about 70% capacity. The team showed up earlier than I did and let me know they were there, I informed them that I was about 10 minutes out, they were courteous and understanding that I was going to be there exactly at 9 or even a minute or two late. Once I got there they were ready to go. Sam (lead) introduced themselves and we walked to the unit, I pointed out everything that needed to go and they got to work. If there were any questions they text messaged me while I got to wander around and hang out in the car (it was cold, so this is a great thing!). They had everything out and loaded within 60-70 minutes! The driver confirmed the address and we were on our way to the new place. They showed up to the destination only minutes after I did, and Sam (Samuel?) came up to find where the items needed to go. After we went upstairs and I showed them around they got straight to work. They were done within the hour. All items were moved with care, put into their designated areas, and ready to go within 2 hours and 10 minutes(ish), we allotted 3 hours and were worried it wouldn't be enough, but they absolutely killed it. We are so appreciative! Overall experience was incredible and the 2 man team (plus the driver) were great to work with. During the whole experience the only thing asked of me was to help find a way to prop open the door (I just held it), which honestly is an extremely reasonable request. I saw an ad for Bellhops when I changed my address with USPS. I also had a friend who recently used the service. Yeah, the high fives and ratings seemed too good to be true - but I needed help, and I really didn't want the typical ambiguous quote/invoice, careless and shifty move feel again. I wanted something better. So, with my friend's recommendation, I headed to the website and booked. The online system was exceptional. Thinks of everything. And I found the estimates to be accurate. I expected a calculated, if not efficient move, but the team of movers I received exceeded my expectations beyond belief. I got 2 movers and 1 truck driver. The driver (3rd party contract) was late. But, my true Bellhops movers - Micael F. and James R. - didn't skip a beat. They were on time and ready to go. They had everything prepped by the time the truck arrived 45-50 mins later. They had positive attitudes. They were kind. They were helpful and they were thoughtful throughout. They were extraordinarily professional. Carefully and with efficiency, they packed, loaded, and unloaded. As they moved, Micael and James checked in with me with status updates and sought my preferences from the start and whenever anything didn't seem self explanatory. I felt at ease during the entire experience. I have never felt this way during a move, ever. I don't know if it's the job training or they know how to pick employees who were raised right. Either way, Bellhops communication and execution lived up to the hype. They also assembled furniture that needed it and even got rid of the protective covers and wraps for me. I have contracted with Bell Hops twice now and am so impressed with the customer service and the young men who came out to move my furniture. The process starts by requesting a date for the movers to come and provide a list of items that you want moved. Prior to the date, Bell Hops sends you a profile of the young men introducing them. I requested two young men for one hour and one of the young men was the Captain. The Captain called me to confirm the date and time and asked if there was anything he could do to assist me prior to the date (awesome). The young men arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They were careful not to damage anything (I had just had my floors refinished and the walls painted). They were polite and courteous (how often do you receive this quality of service?). After the job was completed, I received an e-mail invoice which included a rating for the young men and, if you have not tipped them cash at the time of the move, you are given an opportunity to include a tip with your bill. They were so amazing that I tipped more than 20%. These young men are college students and it is impressive the professional and courteous way they conduct themselves. We had a small but difficult moving job and after contacting two other well-rated companies and not hearing back I finally went to Bellhops - and I'm very happy it we did. Moving a sofa-sleeper out of our second floor guest room and moving in a futon to replace it was what we needed done, sounds easy enough, but the item being moved out can barely squeeze out the door and down the hallway. Not only did they (Sam and Mateo) show up on time, they were young, friendly, energetic and very conscientious about their work - cautious but fast they took out the sleeper unit then brought up the futon, all done in 40 minutes. They were smart too, making sure to secure the sleeper bed so it wouldn't pop open. The rates from Bellhops are very reasonable, after this first experience I would not hesitate to contact them first for our next job - thanks! read more

I do not normally leave reviews because I work in Customer Service Management so I believe it's part of the job, however the 4 young men that moved me were angels! I'm a single mom with 3 kids and moving is already stressful enough, but these guys came with manners, smiles, proactive questions centered on my ease and comfort, and ready to work! I really cannot stress how easy the company is to work with; in fact from quote to confirmation, payment and final review, everything was easy (I did all of it online which is preferable for my lifestyle)! Based on my experience at Bellhop, I'd recommend this moving company to others. Aaron T was on time, professional and a very hard worker. You could tell he was the more experience of the two workers. The other guy, Rhett B, was very nice and like Aaron, made a point to get our furniture in and out. However, he was constantly checking his phone. I'm sure it was for a valid reason but we did go over our time. This company charges in 15 minute intervals so finishing even 15 minutes earlier would've been nice. This company completely changed how I feel about moving. I was in the process of relocating and my friends weren't too thrilled to help. I used a Groupon coupon and had 2 VCU student Bellhops come out to help. I'm a pretty able bodied guy, but these guys showed up with a gatorade for me and helped me do about 4 hours worth of moving, in about 45 minutes. Made my life so much easier. Isaiah and John were awesome - not even a scratch on anything, and I tend to break at least one thing everytime I move. I live 3 floors up with no elevator and they didn't complain once even though it was an EXTREMELY difficult job. Couldn't have done it without them. I also expected to pay for the two hours I booked, but they clocked out the second we were done and the cost was much less than expected. Seriously the best service I have received across industries. I had a regional move and there were two teams (for loading and unloading) and both teams were professional, careful, attentive and asked where I wanted everything to go. I had nothing to worry about except being there at load and unload and that was such a relief. They deserve high praise and will definitely be using them again! Pedro and Steven were awesome movers. They worked quickly and efficiently moving a full apartment (bedroom and living room) from the third floor in the middle of a hot summer day.
