From the outside it's difficult to tell what to expect, but as soon as we got through the double doors, we were met with an inviting, spacious room and delicious aromas. It looks like a warehouse space. It's brightly lit. Plenty of seating. Looks clean. Bold overhead signage and photos explain what's on the menu. There were several people behind the counter and a number of them were at the grill. The layout allows for plenty of safe distance between staff and approaching customers. The staffer who greeted us said the salads and pastas would take only a few minutes to prepare. He wasn't kidding. I ordered a Chicken Salad which was really a Caesar salad with chicken. It was so fresh. My husband ordered The Fredo: pasta, chicken, grape tomatoes, pesto, Alfredo sauce and melted cheese. That was amazing! I stole some of his food. There was so much of it, he ate the rest of it for lunch the next day. The prices were great. The prep speed was remarkable. It's not fast food in the traditional sense. It's good food fast. We did takeout and got out of there in less than five minutes after placing our orders. For casual dining, this place gets high marks. I noticed one reviewer called it a "hidden gem." I agree. I was in Albany for work and looking for a quick lunch. I was in the Albany Med area and since I had never heard of Bellini's before I decided to check it out. Bellini's reminds me of Chipotle in a way because you build your meal as you walk down a production line. The name suggests that they serve Italian food, and I guess that's true to some respect but I got mixed signals. Anyway, I was looking at the menu and noticed a variety of options: salads, wraps, bowls, etc. I decided on a wrap and filled it with chicken, rice, marinara, roasted peppers, and onion. The wrap was pretty good, nothing amazing but it had nice flavor. Overall, while I'm still a little in the dark as to what exactly Bellini's identity is, I feel they do serve quality food. They may not have the name recognition as the neighboring Chipotle or Panera, but I wouldn't rule them out. read more

Pretty good. I had their Alfredo pasta with grilled chicken. The Alfredo sauce is kind of sweet which is weird. Not bad I guess but it's a little off putting. It prevents me from eating the whole thing which I guess can be a good thing. The grilled chicken is good. I've had the breaded chicken with this pasta before but I don't like it as much as the grilled. The breading is weak. The vodka sauce with rigatoni is another dish I've tried. I was in Albany for some work and was looking at yelp for some good suggestions for food around my hotel. I decided to give this place a try - I'm so glad that I did. I got the rigatoni pasta bowl with their house made vodka sauce, topped with chicken, Parm and mozzarella cheese (cause you can never have enough cheese), onions, peppers, sun dried tomatoes and pepperoncini. Their vodka sauce is absolutely delicious!!! There are a vast number of toppings available from which you can pick - which is refreshing. This pasta has made my day! Can't believe I haven't reviewed Bellini's before. I hate paying for pasta out, however, Bellini's Counter changed that for me. Their vodka sauce is excellent and I'm thrilled to see they now offer it for sale in the restaurant. I get the same thing every single time, vodka sauce with penne. I've had the meatballs which just cannot compare to my husbands (no offense) and the grilled chicken which is delicious. All my sons have enjoyed this place and asked to go their for meals out. The alfredo sauce is good, but doesn't compare to the vodka. My son has had a wrap with steak and really enjoyed it. It was huge as are their pasta bowls, with enough for two meals. Bellini's is a favorite stop when in Albany. We love the selection and quality of the food. The service is always great but on December 4th in the evening one crew member stood out. Went here for lunch with a co-worker yesterday for lunch. It was my first time here and I loved everything about it. I had a pasta bowl-rigatoni, vodka sauce, chicken cutlet, parm and mozzarella cheese- it was just delicious. I asked for Xtra sauce and it was just right. Yikes, it was a mess at Bellini's Counter on a recent Friday around lunchtime. I was not surprised to see it so busy, but I was surprised at the chaos and confusion behind the counter. So many orders halfway completed, belonging to whom, needing which ingredients? This bowl goes to that person, this bowl needs finishing, this bowl was made wrong and must be remade... And there was a cluster of 5 or so employees down at the end of the counter by the register seemingly not knowing what to do. I waited in a long line of people to order a salad, when the salad fixings don't even begin until halfway down the line. There was no one in front of the vegetable area, and that is all I was getting, but of course I'm not going to cut the line. It just doesn't seem very efficiently set up. When I finally made it to the salad area I was asked which of several bowls was mine. I said none, I was ordering a salad, but I could easily have pictured a scenario where I mistakenly pointed out a bowl that was not, in fact, mine, therefore derailing another customer's order. Finally with salad prepared I moved down the line to pay (this was about 20 minutes after first joining the queue - I was on my lunch break, but it's a good thing I was not on a strict schedule). My order was being packed up and put in a bag even after I said I was eating in 3 times. Clearly everyone was overwhelmed. I understand this place is new and it was prime time, so I will definitely come back and give them another chance. The salad was good, after all, and filled me up. We've been three times since it's opened and the food has always been great! We've tried salad bowls, rice bowls, and pasta bowls; all were excellent. The portions are large, enough for almost two meals, particularly with the pasta dish. Prices are decent, on par with Panera, about $10 a bowl. Great service, very friendly staff.
