    Chicken Francais- Not worth $25

Ordered chicken parm and chicken francaise. Waiter asks us if we would like to order a side dish for an additional $3. We declined. Apparently, the entrees are now a la carte. Paid $25 for a piece of chicken that came with only a side salad. Our friends ordered the same, however, his salad came with a live earwig crawling through the dressing. The only thing they comped him was his $5 beer. He didn't get to eat the salad- should've offered a free dessert at the very least. Will not be returning. Do better- the pasta should be included

Want some authentic Italian cuisine than you need to visit Armondo's. Normally we do have reservations when going out however last night was a last minute decision. The restaurant doesn't open until 5pm, pulled up at 550pm and the parking lot had a lot of cars already. Walked into the main dining room area and it was mostly full. After a few moments a hostess greeted my husband and I. We said we have two, she asked if we had a reservation, unfortunately no. She said umm we don't have anything open, I said anything at the bar area? She said wait a minute, I'll see. Lucky for us a table had just canceled, got sat within a few minutes at a high top in the bar area. We didn't care as the food is fantastic. Sat for about 5 minutes before being greeted by the waitress which was understandable as every table was full and the 10-15 bar seats were all taken. Soda $2.50, Manhattan was $11.00 (which is priced good). Ordered the Utica greens (these are on the spicy side just fyi) shrimp cocktail, which came with 3 shrimps but someone snagged one before the picture (the cocktail sauce is also spicy ), for mains: pollo E gambereti and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Dinners do come with salad and fresh bread. Everything was so delicious . More than enough to eat for dinner and mostly everyone was leaving with a doggie bag, that's if you didn't bring your empty stomach. The place doesn't disappoint for wanting to fulfill your appetite. Service was great, not the waitresses fault however it did take a little while to get our food, assuming because the place was packed and the kitchen is on the small size. We were in and out within 2 hours. The owners I believe also run/own Grano in schenectady on State St. The menus are similar but both offer a different experience.

Do the entrees like Chicken Parmigiana come with any sides, like pasta or salad? Or is it all a la carte? Thanks.

I actually went there tonight, salad plus pasta or potato & vegetables were served along with bread.

"Chicken Marsala" with mushrooms and onions was very good -- Moist, tender, and flavorful. Cut with a fork! Roasted Potatoes were excellent! Browned on all sides with crispy skin and not greasy. They rightfully call them their "famous" roasted potatoes. Italian Bread was outstanding! Tortellini Primavera was blah. Sauce was too thin. Not enough vegetables. 2 Stars Ziti looked okay, but I did not have any. I heard the sauce was good. Baby Meatballs were weak, bland and slightly spongy in texture like frozen ones from market. 2 Stars Salad was limp and dressed too soon. Very little in it besides salad greens. Water was served in plastic cups, but there were nice white cloth napkins. Wines, coffee, and cookies were self serve. Price for this Buffet was $20. plus tax and gratuity per person offered Noon to 4 pm Wed. thru Sunday. The Chicken Marsala protein was selected from several. I would order the chicken, potatoes, and bread again on another visit or by takeout. Parking lot is huge. Many stairs lead down to the large basement Banquet Room. I smelled mildew when I sat down likely from the old carpeting.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.
