The pizza here was legit! It was so good we couldn't wait to eat it so we had a slice in the car. The service was great. They say the pizza would be ready in 20 minutes but it was done well before. The pizza is the best I have had in Frederick. Living here for a full month, I have had four other companies pizza. This is as good as I'd ever expect. Dining in was small so you can't really come with more than four people. Coming from Cleveland, all the Pittsburgh Steeler paraphernalia was a bit hard to be comfortable with, so the pizza had to be delicious to get past that. read more

I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was absolutely terrible. The crust was greasy and thin and I could hardly cut through it (because the slices were not fully cut). The cheese was so greasy that I couldn't even tear a piece apart without the whole thing falling apart. It was a greasy mess with a soft crust that was honestly nearly unsalvageable. Picked up Bellisario's tonight, last minute dinner decision! Chicken tenders are really good! Cheese fries with bacon were super! Pizza was off the chain! The steak and cheese wedge was good as well! I give them a five stars on the food! However, for the customer engagement at the register, I'd give them a 2 out of 5! As I was patiently waiting in line to pick up my food next, another customer had came right in the entrance and rushed to counter, butting in front of me. I may be a little anal, but the cashier should have excused the customer until she waited on me first. I don't believe the cashier even acknowledged that I had walked in the door. we happened upon this place after pickleball and ordered a mini veggie which was perfect for two people for lunch. it was delicious: heaving with peppers, onions, olives - just as ordered. I never eat the crust (bones) but did this time because the crust was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. We met the Owner who was extremely hospitable and friendly. Little bit pricey for a medium pizza, but good food, fast service and consistent. The pizza I've had, gives off an interesting sweet taste, and when I've tried the steak and cheese wrap it's always been good and filling. Nice little business. read more

I have only just realized, with shock, that I have never written a review for this great pizza and hoagie shop! This shop is my MAIN go-to pizza and hoagie vendor in the Frederick, MD area, and has been for the past 16 years. I live in a very rural area in the mountains, and Frederick is the nearest city to me, and, although it is a 25 minute drive from my home (at a minimum, and that is in low traffic...), this is my favorite pizza joint in the area. I also love their hot sausage hoagies. Since I live so far from civilization in a very rural area, I like to keep a lot of pizza slices, bagged and sealed in one-gallon ziplock bags, in my freezer so that I may heat some up whenever I get the urge to eat pizza, and so, about once every two to three months, I order two or three ultra-large 22 inch (it is called "Killer size") plain cheese pizzas from this shop, and then, after I have eaten a few slices and the rest of the slices have cooled, I bag and freeze those slices in a deep freezer for future use. Oh, and whenever I order two or three Killer size pizzas to go from this shop, I almost always break down and order two or three large size sausage haogies as well, and most of these also get cut into pieces and stored in the deep freezer for future use. In my estimation, this shop makes the very best round New York-style pizza available in the Frederick area. The sauce is perfect, the cheese is very good, and the seasoning is great, but the most important thing is that the crust is PERFECT every time! read more

Pizza was good! Hot, cheesy, and flavor was good. I like how the sausage was crumbled and not big balls. The calzone was huge. The breadsticks were not my favorite a bit dry but a good size serving. Overall definitely ordering again. read more

I was excited to try this place. I'm from New York so you can say I'm a pizza critic but I have sympathy for non New York places for pizza. Especially being in the state for some quite some time because of education. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza. Simple. APPARENTLY NOT! Did not taste an ounce like buffalo! They gave a side of ranch and "buffalo sauce" but tasted like normal hot sauce. The ranch was the saving grace otherwise this would of been a flavorless pizza. I guess all the good reviews are from the old ownership. 10/10 do not recommend. If I come again and try different pizza (which I probably won't) I shall update. We first tried Bellisario's several years ago at the recommendation of our neighbor. We obviously weren't enamored with it since we didn't order it again until about three weeks ago. After that night, we quickly declared it to be our new "go to" pizza. The crust was perfect; not too thick/not too thin and crispy with just the right amount of chewiness. The sauce was a little on the sweet side, but that's something I've come to expect from most pizza places in this area. The plain cheese on my half was great, but my boyfriend's half with onions and sausage was really fantastic. I would give this pizza 4.5 stars. Flash forward one week to the very next pizza night...The sauce is unevenly spread and spills over the edge of the crust in places. The cheese is also uneven and doesn't completely cover the sauce. The toppings are thrown on haphazardly and my plain cheese half is reduced to a quarter of the pizza. The slices are cut unevenly so there are four enormous slices and four super skinny slices. It looks like somebody had a contest to see who could make the fastest pizza with no concern for presentation whatsoever. I would never have guessed that it came from the same place as a week before...2 stars. We might give it another try at some point, but it won't be any time soon. read more

We tried Bellisario's again last week so I wanted to be sure to update my review. I have to say, the pizza was much better this time around. It was fresh and cheesy and the thin crust was great. I can officially say this is the best pizza we have found in Frederick, by far. I was really starting to worry there for awhile. Also, be warned, those hot peppers are no joke. Oh and I noticed they have a very reasonable lunch specials during the week so we'll be checking that out soon. read more

Best pizza anywhere! As the previous reviewer stated, it is sort-of a hole in the wall...there is some seating, but it's very limited. No delivery, so basically you want to order food for pick-up. It is the greasy New York style...the sauce is awesome (lots of oregano, I think) and the crust is perfect. The white pizza is also very tasty--not bland like the kind some restaurants serve. They also have calzones, hoagies, and something called a wedgie, which is like a sub except it is baked in pizza dough (vegetarian wedgie not on menu, but they have always made one for me when I ask, and it is excellent). The food is really great and the prices are good. The only minor issue is that they are closed on Sundays, and close at 9 p.m. every other day...so no late-night pizzas from here. But check it out anytime before 9, and you won't be sorry! read more

Ordered the buffalo chicken pizza. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement, especially considering the raving reviews this place received from others. Employees were immature and shouting slandering comments as well as a few NSFW things from behind the counter. Pizza was very bland and I witnessed the "chef" take the dough out of a tied off bag in the freezer. Finally, there was trash all over the floor, and on a few tables. Ordered an Italian sub which is basically ham & provolone. On top of there not being good Italian meats, the sub was extremely soggy. By far the worst sub I've ever had. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing but I'll never order this item from there again. read more

DAMN that's some fiiiiine pizza! I'd personally rate it *just* under Il Forno's for the Frederick region, but that's only because I have a soft place in my heart for brick-oven-chewy-charred pizza crust, and Bellisario's isn't quite as magnificent in that regard. It's also pretty darn greasy, but then again, that's where all the pizza flavor is anyway, so don't try to play "healthy" here and wipe it all up. Let's be honest- you just bought a reasonably priced pizza at a hole in the wall in a sketchy looking half-abandoned strip mall. This is honest pizza made by and for real Americans, and you need to RESPECT the pool of grease it comes with. As a side note, I reeeeally don't care about football, but if I was a super huge fan of anyone other than the Steeler's... I might watch my back in there. read more

Ordered their mini 10" pizza with pepperoni. I smothered it with parmesan cheese and oregano. The flavor was very good. The sauce was tangy and zesty. The crust/dough was the best part of this pie. It was crispy on the edges and soft and chewy throughout. High quality cheese and pepperoni was used; which, compels me come back very soon. Bellisario's pizza puts the national pizza chains (And you know who they are.) to utter shame (outright garbage pizza)! Spend your money on a local Frederick business who takes the time, pride, and effort to bake an excellent product instead of supporting the national garbage pizza chains! Capital Crave serves up a similarly good pizza if you are on that side of town; otherwise, Bellisario's and Capital Crave serve up the best pies in Frederick! The only knock on this place is the Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia lining the walls in Redskins Nation territory--that's just flat out wrong :-) read more

I used to go here back when the name same owner made her own pizza by hand. It was great. Now, not so much. Canned vegetables, industrial dough. Got 2 pies tonight, both bordering on inedible. The mushrooms and peppers were rubbery and overdone. Cheese pizza was undercooked and the dough was the same as a Joe Corbi pizza. A frozen pizza works be a step up. So sad. Good pizza. We go to some other places like Pistarro's for brick oven style pizza, but sometimes you just want that take out joint.
