I love that I can get a meatball pizza here that is delicious and has the best crust. It's not all greasy and garlicky. It's just plain but has a wonderful flavor and texture. Im guessing that the food quality has gone down in an attempt to keep the prices reasonable. I should have known since the place was empty at dinner time on a Saturday evening. It was packed on my last visit. This time it was thee worst sandwich I'd ever had. I was so excited to go back as it's been some time since I had the Tony V. The sandwich was virtually inedible. After our first visit (less than 2 weeks ago) we agreed--when visiting Germantown we would happily drive the extra 6 miles each way to Damascus and visit Maggi's. We were absolutely lying to ourselves. Dang if we didn't decide to try that bomb pizza again and try their sub and cannoli even without a trip anywhere else, Germantown or otherwise. Thirty minute trip each way for us and we did so happily. Got another pizza, the Italian sub (with everything) and a Pumpkin Cannoli (both for later). Came armed with paper plates and paper towels to eat the pizza fresh in the car. Totally worth it (the drive and the potential mess). This is *absolutely* our favorite pizza in the DMV and I foresee at least very few weeks/months visits when possible. Pumpkin cannoli was divine and I am NOT a huge cannoli person. Boyfriend claimed it as the best cannoli he'd ever had. Taking the sub to work tomorrow, but I *did* eat a bit and also excellent. Not sure we will ever visit without grabbing a pie, but we might work our way through the sandwich menu slowly. Cannot recommend highly enough--support small business! read more

We were looking for a place for a good cheesesteak and figured we call Maggi's. The guy on the phone said they don't officially have a cheesesteak on the menu but it could be made. Their cheesesteak was so good. Nothing like some of the other places in the area. Their pizza is of course the star of the show and the staff are very nice. read more

As a NY transplant I feel well qualified to say Maggi's stands out, and is a hidden gem here in Damascus. NY'ers are pretty specific about Boars Head deli meat. All of our hero's (not sandwiches, not subs, not hoagies) must have Boars Head. And look no further, Maggi's has the (Boars Head) meat! Yes- I'm forgiving the fact that Maggi's doesn't call their sandwiches hero's, I'd probably be looked at crazy if I ordered it like that here or if I asked for "pizza pies" while ordering multiple pizzas. So far we have had the classic Italian and the Cali Club, and I was truly impressed. We ordered them on our way to Stone Silo and they hit just right with our beers. The sandwich is piled high, is perfectly filling, and dressed just right. The club came with a pickle, and we ordered the hot peppers on the side for the Italian so I could steal them for the club. I am beyond satisfied with my first visit, and can honestly say it feels like having a bit of home away from home. I can't believe it took me so long to try. And I'm looking forward to dabbling in the pizza, and exploring the rest of the sandwich offerings. If you're wondering about inside- it's a normal deli meaning no seating. You order and go! We wanted to try a different local pizza spot, and after being in Damascus for over a year, we finally ordered some to try with friends. I ordered 2 large pizzas, half pepperoni half cheese, and the other was half pepperoni wirh jalapeños and the other half ham and pineapple. Pizza tool about 25 mins for pick up. I arrived, gave them my name and my pizzas came our piping hot and smelled so good. If your doing pick up, keep in mind that there is much parking, but you can park up front or the side, and run in and out. They also offer delivery. The pizza was pretty delicious and different from other local chain spots. The pepperoni was really good and my husband enjoyed the ham and pineapple. Glad we finally tried it and definitely plan on ordering there more often. read more

I love this place! As one who grew up eating that other pizza that could only be found in Adelphi, but is now everywhere, I didn't think any other kind could turn my head. But that was before I tried the New Yorker from Maggi's. My head is permanently turned. Plus, the guys are so nice and helpful. What else could you possibly want? I have been torn about writing this review and hope that our recent experience was the result of an off day. My husband called in our order for pick up, some of our usual favorites. When I arrived, apparently our order was deleted and not ready - even though one of our two sandwiches (tuna salad) was sitting on the counter. I had to wait around 15 - 20 minutes for them to pull together the rest of the order. When I got home, we were surprised to see that our usual stuffed sandwiches were replaced with much skimpier versions and the tuna salad was missing tomatoes and lettuce. For the price you pay for their sandwiches ($8-9), it was worth it for what you received, a good portion of high quality product but not so much on this day. In addition, the tortellini pasta salad was not as good as other pasta salads we have had here. Pizza still tasty as ever. Again, I hope it was an off day. The gentleman working in the back seemed to be grumpy and did offer an apology in the delay of our order. So we will try again someday. Still give Pasquale's a 4 rating based on good pizza and past excellent service and food. read more
