Cut and color by Zule...almost pic is two weeks later (hair is naturally crazy wavy)

Zule is such an amazing person with such a beautiful soul. She's extremely hard-working and she hustles like no other. Like fo' reals. She's 5 stars all over!!! The first time I called, no answer. I sent in an email on the website requesting an appointment. The second time I called, I was told that my Groupon would not be honored due to the person offering the Groupon having a personal emergency. No ding on her; I get it--crap happens. She suggested I just return it. I'm fine with that. I figured I'd just redeem it much later or contact Groupon about it. They ended up returning the call later on in the day, but I wasn't able to pick up, so they just left me a voice message stating they were going to schedule me on Friday (not a day I requested at all) and if I had a problem with it, to call and reschedule, otherwise, they would see me on Friday. I don't know the norms about scheduling like that, but okay, I can deal with a little off-settling-ness. Upon entering, the check-in desk was to the side a bit on the left. No one greeted me when I entered, but they did stare at me. I had to walk all the way to the desk to be greeted. I guess that's the only place they're allowed to greet people. Checked in, and was utterly confused when I was told I would be serviced by Zule because I made the appointment under the impression that another person, whose name I can't remember, was going to service me. Zule came in with that kind smile of hers. She talked to me about the services and pricing (another Yelper also mentioned that it was the Groupon + extra, and that's the same for me) then got straight to work. She was very professional, yet warm. I learned a lot about this girl, and let me say, I'm super impressed by her ambition and goals and hopes her all the best. She's very knowledgeable about her profession, but she also knows her limitation and will ask when she's unsure. She will also put in the time to ensure quality and customer service (she stayed till 9 to finish my hair). Oh, she's also makes sure that her clients are getting the attention needed and will feed you grapes and strawberries. At the end of our time together, I wasn't sure about the result of the color, she reassured me that if it didn't fade to the color I wanted, to just let her know and come back in. I'm highly satisfied with Zule and would come back to Zule. Zule is 5 stars across the board, but the salon is a 3. I feel like I'm stepping into a high school.

I came here on 08.16.16 for a Groupon deal I got for gel nails with Danielle. She did a great job. I love the color I chose too. I brought my own flower stickers, which she was nice enough to accommodate what I wanted: to put it on after I get my gel nails. It has been almost 3 weeks and my gel nails still haven't chip yet. Love it! Parking was a bit hard to find, but luckily, I found a parking eight in front of the place. Totally recommend this place :)

I bought a Groupon for white tip acrylic nails ($20! Such a good price!). I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle! She is such a friendly, warm person! Usually when I go do nails, it's hard to sometimes get the conversation flowing so with Danielle, it was easy. Her work is very neat and organized and she has other services as well for nail aspects! She is very professional and pays attention to detail. I'd suggest to call her and she can tell you directly the prices for certain services(: I would definitely come back again cause the atmosphere is very pleasant, she did a great job, and it's a good price!

I was in a bit of a hair funk and not really sure what to do with my hair. I had a regular person I was going to but just need a little bit of a switch up as I need a new perspective on my hair. I did some yelp research and come across this salon and saw a lot of great review so I thought I would give it a shot. I sent them a yelp message late at night and first thing the next morning Crystal had reached out to me and I was in the next day. I sent crystal pictures of my hair and what I was looking for and she did such a great job! The color is so nice and compliments my complexion! We just cleaned up my ends as they were a mess from my previous color. So happy I gave them a shot, as I could not be happier!

The owner is not helpful and is a fraud!!! The owner response proves he is a liar and only trying to do damage control when I screen shot the picture of the receipt. I got hair extension and in less than 12 hours they all fell out when I brushed my hair with a hair brush that is designed for hair extensions. The hair dresser who they call Caro for short (who had the short white pixie cut) cut the part of the hair extensions that holds all the separate strands of hair together and put them in my hair which makes no sense at all. When I rightfully so asked for a refund the owner said no and was beyond rude and only cared about her money. In return the hair dresser put the hair extension back in my hair saying she could now do them the correct way this time and glued them in yet in a matter of a days the hair matted and It took more than five hours to take the excessive glue out of my hair. **THE HAIR DRESSER SHOULD HAVE PUT THEM IN CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME.

I had a great experience getting my haircut here. At first, I was a bit weary based off the reviews, but I purchased a Groupon from here. Make sure to call the number on the Groupon, as that is the hair stylist that is doing the Groupon promotion. I called 3x & left a message via Yelp without a response, so I decided to go to the salon, since I live close. The stylists were very nice & each one greeted me when I came in. Melody was at the register & I showed her the Groupon. She looked at the phone number, & went to the stylist doing the promo. The stylist said she was booked through mid July. Melody was open to cutting my hair today & allowed me to use the Groupon with her, no extra charge. What really excited me is that she cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted it.. it looked like the picture I showed her. Melody's rates are very reasonable too, so I definitely will be coming back!

Went to Bellisima for the first time because I purchased a Groupon for a Cut, Conditioning, and Full Highlights. Chanel was the hair stylist. Turns out that Chanel had done my hair once before, a year ago, at a different location where she had once worked. She did a great job then, so I was cool with it. Anyways, she brings me a nice refreshing glass of water, with lip prints that aren't mine. Hmmm. Not a great start so far. So, we're chit-chatting, talking about what we've been up to since we last saw each other. Then she brings me the color chart to see what color I want. I currently have grown out brown and blond highlights and wanted to get full red highlights. So, as we are chit chatting, she proceeds to brush this color all over the crown of my head and I stop her and remind her that we are supposed to be doing full highlights....since that's what I paid for. She's like "Oh. I thought you meant full color". Duh! Why would I pay more $$ for highlights, if I just wanted color? What does my Groupon say?? Okay, whatever, I let her proceed. The fumes from the chemicals were really hurting my eyes, so I don't know what they use there. At the end, the color was okay, but Chanel kept saying how much she loved the way it turned out. Of course...because they don't want to admit anything is fucked up. She then tells me no more Groupons since I've purchased it before....not my fault you decided to work elsewhere, lady! Then she starts blow drying my hair, parting it in the wrong direction. Ggrrrr... i tell her that I normally part my hair to the right, not left...so, she tries to re-style it to go to the right, but of course, my hair is uncooperative now, since she already had it going the other way. Never once did she ask me HOW I wanted my hair cut and how I normally style my hair. I also reminded her that she's suppose to cut my hair too. She said she did. She cut off about 3" off the back. Okay, that's fine. So, I asked what about my bangs and crown. She's like "Oh, you want your bangs cut too?" Duh! I tell her I want them to land between my eyebrows and my eyes when my hair is dry. I also tell her that I want my crown cut and blended in with the rest of my hair. She looks at me like she's confused...so I said "like how you style your hair....that's how I style mine too". So, okay she proceeds to cut my bangs...too damn short!! She then cuts the rest of the hair on my crown and brushes my hair downward to hide the fact that she fucked up my bangs, hoping I don't notice. So, if I said earlier that I part my hair to the right, how is combing all of my bangs straight down remotely close to going to the right? Oh...and aren't I supposed to be handed a mirror so that I can check out how the back of my hair looks? In my head, I'm thinking "no tip", but when she's done she just stands there waiting, so of course, you feel obligated to do so. Ugh! If you do decide to come here anyways, at least be sure NOT to get Chanel.

Hair by Zule...Absolutely one of the best experiences, cut and style I have ever had!

I had been looking for a new hair stylist and style for some time. I wanted to keep my length yet look stylish. Its hard starting over and trying out someone new especially when it takes you so long to grow out your hair. I decided to start searching on yelp and something closer to home and found Bellisima. The reviews were great and I also noticed that some clientele had used Groupon. My husband purchased me a birthday condition, cut and style on Groupon, $30 for $90 service. Making an appointment was relatively easy calling the salon direct and I was booked the same week. When I got there, I was greated by Zule. She was very friendly, attentive and made me feel like she was listening and understood what I was looking for. I explained keeping my length was important also. My hair was washed and conditioned plus an awesome scalp massage. She began cutting while asking questions to make sure the layers were just where I wanted them. She then blow dried and styled my hair and I was AMAZED!! I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I was so completely pleased with my whole experience and probabaly one of the best cuts I have ever had! I left feeling absolutely beautiful. Thank you Zule for exceedimg my expectations!! I have found my new hair dressser!!

My hair was a mess before Lexie fixed it up. I saw on Groupon the haircut + balayage deal for $99, so I called for more info. Lexie told me to send her a picture of my hair bc she said she was good at eyeballing the price range. Lexie was very helpful & told me that it would cost $150 to fix my hair. When I went to the salon, Lexie was super nice and I loved how she walked me through the process of what she was doing to my hair. She warned me that my hair might turn a certain color and not to get shocked because it would change as she worked on it more. I would recommend Lexie to others and will be back to this salon. With that being said, the reason why I didn't give a full 5 stars is because: 1. The price kept going up! First, when I asked about the price, she said it would be $150 because I would need to have some foils in my hair as well as balayage. When she saw my hair in person, she told me it will be $180 because it wasn't a balayage anymore since she had to dye almost my whole head (further up my hair, near the roots) because my hair was seriously a mess! However, when we were done with the whole process, it ended up being $220 minus $10 because of Yelp review. So I ended up paying $210 without tip for my hair. But I do understand hair is supposed to be expensive, so maybe I shouldn't complain. It's just my thought for the price range went from $99 - $150 - $180 - $210 2. I loved the way my hair looked the day I got it done. It is 3 days later and some parts of my hair is a bit green. However, my hair used to have some blonde parts before I got it done. Only those parts are green (I'm guessing it's because that part is super dead?) I'm hoping that when I go back in 4 weeks to touch up my hair, Lexie will be able to fix it. Will write an updated review in 4 weeks!

Joslyn did such an amazing job with my daughters hair. I was a bit nervous since my daughters hair was dark and we haven't tried creative coloring before and we put our trust in Joslyn. We took my mom here for a late mothers day pampering. The experience for her was AMAZING! I really wish I could remember everyones name. From the lady that did my moms mani\pedi to the gentleman that cut and colored her hair. We explained to them my mom had an aneurysm in 2013. After the aneurysm she has become extremely sensitive to sound. She gets a pounding headache when in a crowded room and people are talking all at once. After we explained this to them they try to sit her in the most quiet places possible. They were so gentle with my mom. She was so happy with everything they did from head to toe. My hair turned out very pretty, don't get me wrong. But it is not even in the slightest what I wanted. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and first, she started saying what I should get instead when I very clearly showed her what I wanted. Very upset with how it turned out especially after paying upwards of $100. And it doesn't help that everyone at home says they notice no difference to my hair at all. My Friend and I both came here to get their Maternity Massages. Very Friendly staff, they offered us water, juice as soon as we arrived. One of the Massage therapists was about 20 min. Late which for me was the first Star taken from their score. The Massage itself was nice for me (I am 4 months pregnant) BUT not so nice ,at first, for my friend who is about 7 month pregnant. The table they put you on is not made for women who are far along as it is a regular table and you have to lay on your back. If you have ever been pregnant, you know that laying on your back once you pass the 6 month mark is virtually impossible. You cant breathe and feel as if the baby is suffocating you. I would think that they would know that. Most Maternity Massage places provide special tables with wholes in the middle for you to be able to lay on your stomach and be comfy, I asssumed they would have the same but i was wrong. The Price was about average, $70 each for 50 min. of massage. It was a nice massage however the rooms they put you in are not soundproof and are right in the middle of the chaos of a salon so while you are being massaged, you hear nice soothing music AND the sound of people laughing,talking and blow dryers going crazy...so much so that it drowns out the relaxing music. I wanted to get my eyebrows done but once they told me it was $20, I thought in this economy that was a little bit too high and decided to pass. Overall it was ok...just OK. Would I come back for this massage? no, my husband could just put some cream on his hands and rub me down for free. It was nothing special. The Ladies were very nice though :) read more

Loved it. Being a new mom of a 3 month old, it's hard to do my long hair. I called to see if Jessica was available to take me in for a last minute haircut. She took me in right away. I'm a guy but I like to get my haircut in a nice place by someone that knows what they are doing. I found this place and walked in. The owner Maribel greeted me and made me feel comfortable right away. She referred me to a stylist Crystal. This chic rocks, the wash and haircut was an experience. Chica is my nail technician who is amazing. She does a pedicure that is so wonderful and relaxing. When she does the massage on my legs it is so exhilarating and makes my tired legs feel so good. My nails always look good and the gel manicure lasts several weeks. She is so nice. I just like talking to her she seems interested in what I am talking about. She is very respectful and very kind. It is a great experience when I go for my beautification!! Chica is truly amazing! This spa has really good nail technician and the atmosphere is so pleasant and relaxing. Ask for Beverly!! I found a groupon for this place and I was in serious need for a haircut so I decided to check it out. I called to book an appointment and they set me up with Beverly. I told her kind of what I wanted and she recommended a few things so I trusted her and went with it. My hair looks so beautiful and healthy with long layers and shorter layers in the front. Not to mention that I have the best hair dresser (Crystal Quinones) who works here. She's been my hair dresser for years and I just love her work. Just moved to the area and was desperate to find a great new stylist. Making an appointment was sooo easy and they were able to book me same day! I was paired with Reina and she is AMAZING! If you are looking for an expertise hair colorist look no further than Jessica. Jessica was professional, courteous and had a very clean and organized station. Jessica was able to take my naturally dark hair and provide a hidden unicorn rainbow color effect. The bleach process did not damage my hair. The colors she used were vivid and did not bleed or fade. She was able to provide four beautiful hair colors on the bottom half of my hair. Professional on top and hidden unicorn on the bottom. Plus my hair looked healthier than before. I highly recommend Jessica and will definitely be going back. Jessica explained each step of the process from the lightening to the color and made me feel very comfortable during the entire visit. read more

I called in the previous day for a cut and style, and Melody was able to take me the next day (a saturday morning), so I was happy they were able to accommodate a last minute appointment. When I arrived the salon was busy but Melody was able to take me right away, after offering a drink of my choice. She got to work after a quick chat about what I wanted (long side swept bang and a trim). She took her time and the cut came out great! I'm always worried about the overall length being trimmed too short, but Melody knew what she was doing and even went back to layer the bangs a little more before curling my hair. She was very pleasant and good conversation ;). I'm always akward when it comes to talking to strangers, but Melody made me feel at home. I hope to be back next time. read more

I came in today for a Groupon that I purchased for a haircut and balayage ($84). I got my hair done by Isa, and she did a great job! I heard that she was new, however she gave me exactly what I wanted and talked me through it. I wanted just a lighter color near my ends since my hair has already been dyed before- however she did a great job of adding a touch of color that brightened my whole head. Additional charges were just the toner and tip since the Groupon already included the lightener. So in total it was $113 without tip. My hair isn't very long but stops right before my chest. A VERY good price for my results. I was scared to go into a new salon and come out with great results but my hair really looks awesome! Went into this hair salon very nervous but desperately wanting to go lighter! I walked in and was immediately greeted with smiles! I made an appointment with Crystal because I had read such amazing reviews on yelp! I went in with dark brown hair and a little left over box dye on my ends and wow was I blown away by the results! I went in for a haircut today with Zule and I cannot be happier! Before starting she took her time talking with me about what I wanted, and when she started cutting I couldn't believe how incredibly careful she was with every single layer! Came here because of a Groupon deal for a Color and Cut package for $50. I got Zuley as my stylist and she is amazing! My hair was bleached blonde and length was down to my waist and I wanted to go back to my natural black hair and cut off all my split ends! And she did just that! The dye they use doesn't burn my eyes or smell super strong and she used a mask on my hair that made it super soft and shiny. She told me everything she was going to do BEFORE she did it. She was very gentle when washing my hair, basically fell asleep lol. She styled blow dried my hair at the end. My hair is back to life! And feeling smooth again! Do not buy a groupon. I basically just got robbed 100 dollars. I purchased the groupon and immediatly made a phone call to make an appointment, no one responded to me in over a week. Turns out Jessica was on vacation, but at this point too much time had passed for me to refund the groupon. When I finally do get in contact with Jessica, I find out that she only does Brazilian blowout 3 days out of the week (Thursday's, Friday's, and Saturdays), those are all days I work extremely long shifts and it would be impossible for me to come in unless I take time off of my work schedule (which I'm not going to do for a fucking hair appointment). Not only are these days too inconvenient for me, but the next appointment isn't until the end of the August. Ideally, groupon should have you book an appointment/work on scheduling before you purchase, but that would be too convinient for the customer, and would dissuade time concisous customers. So please read my review before you make the same mistake I did. I wouldn't be surprised if Jessica ignored my phone calls until the 3 days passed to insure I couldn't get a refund. That way they secure your money and can give you shitty inconvient service. read more

What a wonderful salon and staff. It's my one stop for all of my (and families) beauty care needs. James does a fantastic job with all of hair cuts and my hair color. My hair has never been so healthy and I try to color it every three to four weeks. I'll never let anyone else do our hair again. We always leave fully satisfied. Marti takes care of my manicures & pedicures. She puts care and attention to details. It's amazing at the length of time they last. My daughter gets her manicures and pedicures with Michelle and again, a fabulous job every time. The new owner and staff is great! I didn't think I would make it in on time and they waited for me! When I arrived, I never felt like an inconvenience, as some places do when they stay after hours. I had recently cut my hair at a different salon and I needed a style, my hair was very thick and straight, it looked very blunt. Until Crystal got a hold of my hair! Now,since the Salon is under new ownership (hurray-Maribel) the service matches the beauty of the salon. Maribel has hired all new staff- the stylists are all from Paul Mitchell. The former staff was unprofessional. They would be on their cell phones making personal calls, texting etc. My son's hair was cut unevenly and I was Not happy. My daughter has had her hair done 12 times by Maribel and she absolutely adores her. I have been going to Melody for ever now. I love this new location she just moved to. The shop offer so much more services than the last shop she was at. I would follow Melody anywhere. She's the only one I would trust with my hair. She's taken so many advanced courses and hairdressing and coloring. I'm not easy to please. I love this little salon in the heart of old town Monrovia. The salon is open and warm. And you're always warmly greeted by the people there. I almost don't wanna recommend Erika because then she will be fully booked all the time, but I can't recommend her enough. She's warm and friendly, and I love the way she highlights my hair. I always get so many compliments afterwards. Each time I go, we go over what I want done and she takes the time to get it just right.
