I feared that no one would be able to replicate the color but 4 hours later I walked out with the most adorable a line tapered cut I have ever had. I've been coming here for about 3 years: several haircuts and dye jobs. I've been mulling over writing a review for a week and finally decided to. The good: I've never had a bad experience getting my hair dyed here, as a matter of fact they're wonderful when it comes to fixing bad dye jobs -in my case it was 'I thought I was cool enough to lighten my own hair' and I was dead wrong. I gave myself platinum/green hair. They fixed it and made it the most beautiful plum color. And since then I dyed it with them another 3 times. The bad: It seems short hair cuts are not everyone's thing. I've received some super amazing haircuts from them and two major screw-ups. The great haircuts were all on my medium to long hair and the screw-ups were on my short hair. I'm pretty flexible and understanding but I can't believe my stylist made the same mistake twice, once is forgivable we all have our bad days, but twice?! SO here I am yelping my discontent. Just so you know I'm not over reacting I asked for a bob with layers at the bottom (I have curly hair and I need layers to avoid the mushroom look). What I walked away with was one really long bottom layer and lots of several short layers the pick up extra high because of my curls. The layers are so unblended that I have coworkers asking what kind of cut do I have (mind you they think its cute but they're older ladies with that taste for spongey haircuts). I have two choice wear lots of bobby pins to pin back the short layers until my hair grows out enough that I can recut it or do what I did last time and cut 3 inches off the bottom and have a chin length bob.... mind you when I went in I had past should length hair. I've been super loyal to this salon, but two mistakes that are exactly the same shows me you do not know how to cut short hair and the fact that you let me walk out like that... (as customer you don't know what you have until you play with your hair) I am super disappointed. I'm on the hunt for another salon. Take away: great with dyes and long haircuts, awful with short or curly hair. read more

I had probably the worst hair color ever (picture 4 color and cut correction) Thanks to Christina, I had called in last minute and spoke to Sandra (very sweet) and told me Christina is great at color correction and luckily she was available. I felt so embarrassed, I don't know why I never yelped for a hair stylist but I'm glad I had found the hair Lounge. It's been almost a year since my color correction (sorry for such a late review lol) but my hair grew out and my roots blended in so well with the color. Hoping to come in again for a new look. Be careful! Don't believe all the reviews as some of them are written by the stylists themselves . For example Christina gives herself a 5 starts but she doesn't respond to texts or calls to schedule an appointment with her. On her posted pictures says call or text for appointment which I did after a text and a voice message I called again when I finally got her she said to be out of the salon and that she would call after she checked her book she never did . Unreliable and unprofessional do not go there. read more

i do not like leaving bad reviews but I did not appreciate what was done to me. I had an appt with Sandra, I came in at the time of my appt. I walk in she is busy with another person....who I believe she had just started doing her hair. Told me to sit down and wait. I was waiting...I asked her how much longer, she became rude and told me that if I wanted to wait fine if not I can leave and come back whenever I wanted. This was not my first time in this Salon, I never had problems with this lady until that day. I left. Very disappointed. read more

It's been a little over a year since I've first came here. I instantly fell in love with what Christina had done for me. I walked in and asked her to make me beautiful and she did exactly that. Then I came back and Sandra helped me clean up the look and I was amazed. Every time after that, they've been busy so I had to go to a different salon. Although the other place was great, I really missed hair lounge. I decided it was time to get a full cut and chanced a same day appointment, which luckily I got. Sandra greeted me with a smile and listened to what I wanted and gave me her opinion. My end result was exactly what I wanted and so much more. Through the entire thing, Sandra was just so personable that it felt like home being there. I was in and out within 30 mins with an amazing, fresh cut. I came in without an appointment after seeing all the awesome reviews here on Yelp, and luckily Sandra (the owner!) was able to fit me in as a walk-in! I have been to a local hair salon nearby, and the Paul Mitchell School in Rosemead; but The Hair Lounge is BY FAR, my all-time favorite salon!!!!! Sandra is one of the nicest people I think I've ever met! Her shop was clean as can be; totally professional. She did exactly what I asked for; even helped me adjust my plans and my hair turned out even better than what I expected! She was able to work with my budget, and was so helpful and wonderful to me my entire visit! The parking is a bit iffy, very small and awkward, and the shop obviously can't control that. The products used were all name brands, she was so very gentle with my hair also. Overall, I have ZERO complaints! No wonder everyone I've read has raved about her shop, it's every bit as great as her ratings are! If you're in the neighborhood, I'd definitely give this salon a try, A++ in my book. =) I'll definitely be back. read more

I had some time to spare before an appointment, so I thought that I would get myself a trim at this particular salon. I could see on Yelp that it had good ratings, so I decided to give them a try. The salon itself was very clean and modern, and my hairstylist was a young woman named Christina. I showed her a picture of a haircut that I wanted and presto! She did exactly what I wanted her to do and I was very impressed with how accurate her precision was in terms of getting my hair to look exactly like the picture I showed her. My total bill was only $35 for a cut, style, shampoo, conditioner and blow dry! I'm from Van Nuys and that was definitely a good deal! She didn't even want a tip like most stylists I know in the valley, but she was terrific and got one from me! I never thought that I would actually say this, but I wish I lived in Azusa just so I can have her be my regular stylist! Good well done, Christina! read more

Love this salon. Came here cuz the salon I was going to prior the stylist was on maternity leave. So I called The Hair Lounge I needed a trim that day they squeezed me in that evening. The owner Sandra cut my hair. I told her how I needed someone with a good hand and not go crazy scissor happy chopping away. And she did exactly what I asked just a trim. She is super nice makes you feel comfortable. The salon is really cute too. You make an appointment and she ready when you get there, she doesn't over book keeping you waiting like I've experienced at other places. She's trimmed my hair now 3 times and my hair is growing faster then before. She very experienced knows her stuff and definitely has a good hand. read more
