First time facial and it was a great experience! Staff was very friendly and offered me a cold refreshment while I waited for my appointment. I opted for the dermaplaning facial and it left my skin looking bright and feeling soft. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and explained each step of the process which starts with exfoliating the skin and then putting a serum to rejuvenate the skin. I have been receiving routine skin care treatments at Le Spa By Sophie since February of this year - and after 6 months I can finally share the results and knowledge I've gotten from these ongoing visits. I am 41 years old and prior to visiting I thought my skin care routine was fine - but during Covid I starting to see my skin aging, looking and feeling very thin, and many wrinkles I hadn't seen before. On my first visit, Selene was able to detect problem areas due to how I'd been washing my face and she also asked me to bring in all of my current skincare and hair products. I came to Le Spa by Sophie about 6 months before the pandemic, and I'm so happy they are back to business because, during the pandemic, my acne was a nightmare. However, after 2 treatments, my acne is completely gone, and my skin is better than before. I'm so happy with the result from Le Spa! Le Spa is a clean facility. Each time only allows 2 customers inside at a time. Once we stepped in, friendly receptionist Frank would check our temperature and make sure we washed our hands before we entered. Each visit, we have to fill up a form to ensure we are healthy and virus-free. Le Spa is trying to keep track of everyone's record; if any customer is sick, they can trace back the history and contact us if we need the next step. Once we are ready, Frank will lead us to change. Le Spa prepared a box of clean kimonos and a pair of sandals to change before for each customer to change. I love how well they prepare for each customer with heart and care. The BEST facials and BEST results. My mom has been going to Sophie for about 12+ years now and she still stands by her amazing work. I came for the first time since the Covid-19 shut down and I can not emphasize how cautious and clean they were. Sanitizing everything and foot mats to capture all the dirt from being tracked all over. They provided me with a fresh robe and slippers to wear before heading in for my facial. They made sure I felt comfortable in the environment and reassured me that they were taking all the necessary precautions. I have VERY acne prone skin and they do an amazing job at extracting all of it. It does obviously hurt a little, as it should, but the results are worth it. Found a deal on Groupon for $143 for for an advanced facial and one massage (worth $258) I opted for the thermo and cryotherapy facial (50 min) + back muscle relief (25 min) I sat down and was greeted immediately and offered a glass of wine and apple/cinnamon infused tea. I then met with their specialist to go over my skin issues and back/shoulder pain. I got the massage first and it was one of the best massages I've gotten! I had SO many knots in my upper back and shoulder area - my lady was able to get most of it out. She could tell I have been very tense. I even got a head massage at the end which I love (in general) The facial was just as awesome! She did extractions, the cryo and thermo therapy and then a nice mask at the end. I feel so refreshed. I wasn't able to use their amenities (shower, sauna, steam room) but the gentleman up front offered to give me a card to come back to use it. Such a nice gesture. The massage bed was perfect. Not too hard, the pillow below my feet was at the perfect height. It was warm and I was cozy. After I was done, I was offered their cucumber infused warm water and a delicious macaroon and marshmallows. What a treat! Overall, I had a great experience. I would highly recommend. I would advise anyone purchasing a voucher through yelp or Groupon to proceed with caution. Be very clear the minimum price for their cheapest basic facial is $164. Any voucher you purchase will require you to pay additional money out of pocket. Also, you are forced to pay an addtl 10% on a "consultation" that is obligatory on the price of your facial. So minimum an addtl $16.40. This is not a med spa so no clue why a skin consultation would be required other than a simple cash grab. This is not the first facial I've had done and have never encountered such nonsense. Ask yourself, why wouldn't a $160 facial already not include a basic skin assessment?? The atmosphere is also sketchy forcing a client to wear a mask for Covid precautions when you are there for a facial. The place was completely empty while I was there so I don't know who I was protecting with that mask since the receptionist was behind plexi glass. I religiously get my facials done at Le Spa by Sophie, and have for about 10 years. The facility is extremely clean, which I really appreciate. Everyone at Le Spa is very professional and courteous. The estheticians take the time to attend to my skin needs and do not rush the process. The procedures used have varied over the years to address my specific issues as my skin advanced in age. I find the facials so relaxing I even fall asleep at times! I leave there glowing and refreshed. They also use great products. I recently tried several of the La Solution products for face and eye areas. The La Solution Ginseng Serum and the brightening product are particularly nice for my skin. Also, after noticing my hairline beginning to recede at a couple of spots, they provided me a sample of a hair product to enhance the hair growth in these areas. 3.5 overall. my girlfriend and i got a groupon deal. it was 90 bucks pp for a massage, facial, and manicure [gel nail polish]. thinking that we would've been able to do our services together so that we could chit chat but that did not happen. two staff working. staff are trained to do all three services. we both did not have sophie so we have no idea who sophie is. my experience: manicure-i had my manicure first. she asked if i wanted it round or squared. i stated squared. lets just say i had to ask her to fix them at least 3 times. they were super sharp on the edges. i had to even file them down again after my spa experience to get it the way i liked them. i had to ask for three coats of polish because with two you can totally still see my nails [i painted them a seafoam green.] facial-i had no clue what was going on because there was a language barrier. this was my first ever facial so i have no idea what to expect. my nose was hella red afterwards along with my forehead and chin area. the experience did hurt but i hear that is normal. = result -- after 2 days my face is no longer red and does feel smooth. massage- definitely not the best. but definitely better than a korean massage. wasn't a full hour. Wasn't super wowed by the experience. Everything was decent. thoughts: *everything was pretty clean. *they had relaxing music playing. *smelled like an american spa. *not bad but wouldn't come back for a massage. maybe a facial. *staff kept having to step out/pause to answer the phone. they are definitely short staffed. *with a language barrier i felt like i didn't get the best treatment. things weren't explained to me. no recommendations were made. tips: *staff speaks limited english. *located in the same building as arcadia fitness center. *they don't offer you anything to drink. *small waiting area. *they warn you that the arcadia police department may inspect without notice. *shared parking lot as the fitness center and cafe maji. *closed on monday & thursday. *appointments only. *they do provide robes and a towel. I've been to Le Spa twice, the first time on a two-for-one Groupon purchased by a friend for massage, facial and gel manicure, and the second time today on a one-person-only Groupon, same services. First the positive! Massage: 5/5. Rita is the bomb. I was lucky enough to get her the first time and so made sure to request her the second time. She adjusted the pressure level perfectly and went over the 60 minutes promised in the Groupon. I felt very calmed and relaxed after this massage. Facial: 5/5. Again, Rita is the bomb! Very thorough, very calming, and very positive vibe. Gel manicure: 4.5/5. Rita did a super job, cuticles and all! I'm just more a fan of regular manicures.
