Thank you to Nick and Enzo for providing a wonderful service. You were both attentive and professional throughout the event. They even taught us how to make wood fire pizzas and they went above and beyond to make us the event was successful. Definitely worth every penny.

When I got into the…read morestore, I saw a cash only sign, so I had to walk down the street to get cash out of an atm. After that, I went inside to order. I decided to get a slice of pepperoni and also asked what else was good. I was told the vodka on a square is probably the best bet. The pepperoni slice tasted like a New York pizza, which was interesting because there aren't too many places that have that unique taste, aside from like village pizzeria. It was slightly better than that location, but also more costly, so you win some and you lose some. But what I really enjoyed was the vodka square slice. It had a creamy and savory sauce that really just hits, and then some spice that really brings it all together. It's really hard for me to think of another pizza that the square vodka slice compared to. The basil really brought the slice together as well. And the best part about it is it's memorable, and that becomes rarer and rarer as time goes by. The service is pretty quick, around 10 minutes to get your order after placing it. The ambiance is a small shop where you stand and eat. Pretty solid pizza place.

I am not someone who prefers a particular type of sauce although I do lean lite and sweet. The best square slice we had was easily the vodka slice. The pancetta and pepperoni were really good as well. I believe the reason the vodka slice was our favorite square slice was due to the crust. The crust in the pepperoni and pancetta slices were a little too hard and didn't have as much give and chew. The slices of their round cheese pizza were very good. I would say just as good if not better than the vodka slice. The crust and flavor of the cheese slices were really good. Remember though, this place is CASH ONLY! This also one of the few places in LA that has parking, so that was a plus. It is limited though due to being in a small area with multiple store fronts.

I really appreciated that he didn't just recommend the most expensive items--he actually suggested some of the popular dishes that people usually order. The tiramisu was excellent. I'd recommend sharing it because, at least for me, the portion was pretty big. We arrived a little early for our reservation, and even though they were busy, they seated us right away outside. Our table was along the walkway, which wouldn't necessarily be my first choice next time, but I appreciated that they got us settled without making us wait around. The outdoor area had a relaxed neighborhood feel, and it was nice being outside while the evening was warm. We started with the Fiori di Zucca. The squash blossoms were stuffed with ricotta and Parmigiano, lightly fried, and served with marinara. They were good, although they weren't the dish I found myself thinking about afterward. That honor goes to the mussels. I wasn't expecting them to be my favorite thing we ordered, but they absolutely were. The broth was flavorful enough that I kept going back to it after the mussels were gone, which is usually my personal test for whether a mussel dish has done its job. We also shared the Pappardelle alla Vaccinara with braised oxtail ragù, Parmigiano, and rosemary oil. The ragù had a deep, meaty flavor, and I liked how the rosemary oil cut through some of the richness. It was a solid pasta, but the mussels still won the night for me. My cocktail was light and refreshing, with cucumber and mint, and worked especially well with dinner outside. Everything we ordered was flavorful, and the meal made for a lovely belated birthday dinner. Parking around this stretch of 3rd can be a little tricky. I ended up finding street parking a few blocks away, but Oste does offer valet, which would have saved me the neighborhood parking hunt. For a first visit, I'm glad I finally got to try Oste. It was a relaxed, flavorful dinner and a really nice way to celebrate a belated birthday.

I really enjoyed the Supreme, we didn't request for anything extra on top and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. While it wasn't world-class and unique, it fell into the level of comfort and familiarity. If you're a huge fan of C*stco pizza and felt a bit heartbroken with the unrequited love for their supreme pizza, this is MUST try. 5/5 would get again! On the second round, we ordered Melrose. This one didn't impress us as much as the impact was weaker. Personally I added additional seasoning to bring more oomph to the pizza flavor, but this is one of those that you can't go wrong with a crowd and great for customizing. We look forward to trying the other flavors.

I wanna try the other types of pizza they have! The Service: Staff taking our order was very friendly and answered any questions we had. This is a counter restaurant so you would walk in and order at the counter and they would serve your food. The Food: We ordered the supreme pizza which can feed 4 people (2 slices per person) which I feel like it was pretty accurate unless someone is super hungry. The supreme pizza was amazing - it was filled with so many toppings but not too many where it made the pizza soggy. The pizza is made fresh - we saw the person in the back making our pizza when we ordered it - and it didn't take long either. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy and it held the sauce well. It was very well balanced. Price: $30 ish per pizza; about $5 a slice. I think it's super reasonable for the quality of pizza that you get. I would definitely pay this price for this pizza. The Atmosphere: Counter restaurant with some seating - not recommended if you have a large group since space is limited. Parking: Street parking only. Recommend you come early to allot for time to park.

We were super bummed to hear they were out of the famous meatballs, which was the main thing we came for, so we had to pivot our ordering. We started with the house salad and it was a major win--the tomatoes were incredibly sweet. Next, we got the Roman Gladiator pizza, which was loaded with sausage and pepperoni and the crust was perfectly chewy but crispy. We also ordered the carbonara. If the food itself hadn't been so good my rating would be even less. My advice to anyone thinking of going here, is don't, order your food to go or get it delivered, as the staff here clearly have no time or interest in the experience of anyone actually dining in, having better things to do like chat up their friends up front. Edit: almost forgot, they need to step up the pest control, we were harassed by flies the entire time. Get a fly control system!

I had a craving for Esco's pizza (a telltale sign that Esco's has now occupied my brain more than the neighboring pizzerias) so I popped in on a Sunday and found that they had slices of oxtail pizza. I immediately ordered it. They also had jerk chicken pizza and a chicken pesto pizza. After talking to the woman behind the counter, I decided to order pesto pizza, since she recommended it and it was the best decision! The chicken pesto pizza is so flavorful. Chicken pieces were cooked tender, not dry and it was fully marinated in the pesto. Great fresh tastes of basil, Parmesan cheese and the pine nuts, one slice was enough to be a satisfying meal. Buuut, I didn't in this case, because I still had the oxtail! The beef was tender with a slight crispy edge and was served generously on the slice. Jalapeno slices add just the right amount of heat. It comes with a a side of consomme where you can dip your pizza. I would definitely come back for both slices. People from Esco's are mad friendly and hospitable which is a huge pull for me. Bumped up the rating a star!
