First time ordering a pizza from Heirloom, on Christmas no less. Got the Margherita, which came slightly warm and ready for the oven. Five minutes later, a crisped, thin, sourdough-fermented crust topped with local mozzarella, and buratta cheese. What a delicious find! Next time I'll visit their cute pizzeria on Melrose in person.

My new favorite pizza spot. Used to eat at a popular spot down the street but now come here instead at least once a week. Super friendly staff and delicious food. Great environment and always feels good to support a family business. Love it!

Loved this pizza spot, may be my favorite pizza EVER- it is just off melrose ave so we decided to stop in while walking around and shopping. We just got one burrata slice initially and were so impressed that we decided to try two more slices immediately after! The pizza crust bottom is so perfectly crispy and it holds its shape very well. While it is simple at first glance, the sauce and cheese are the perfect balance of sweet, acidic, and salty which makes for a perfect bite every-time. The burrata also adds a delicious layer of creaminess too. The spicy margherita was just as good! They heat up the slices when you order and it only takes ~5 minutes to get your food. They do have an off-menu option for detroit style pizza that seemed intriguing, but we didn't end up getting that. We also tried their house made ranch which is like a citrus zesty ranch that paired well with the pizza, but it doesn't need it at all - especially since the ranch is a bit more expensive at $2 a cup.

Really good pizza! one of the best spots in Los Angeles . coming here at least once a week

I finally found it--a by-the-slice pizza joint in LA that's worth the drive! As someone who grew up on 99-cent slices in the Boston suburbs, raised a son in a best friend's Sicilian-owned pizzeria, and spent 17 years as a Yelp Elite, I don't make pizza recommendations lightly. But Heirloom Pizzeria has earned it--and then some. We stumbled across this gem by chance during a Melrose shopping trip that never happened. Parking nearby, I was drawn in by the simplicity of the place. Zoey, one half of the husband-and-wife ownership team, welcomed us and walked me through their options. I honed in on their bestseller: a cheese slice with vodka sauce. My son--a pretty famous YouTuber and most feared cheese slice purist--opted for both their regular cheese and pan-style cheese slices. Then it happened. You ever bite into something that triggers old memories from your childhood? Could be cotton candy, caramel apple, or that hang nail on your big toe. You just vanish into an old memory. One bite, and I was back in Methuen, Massachusetts, tasting my first-ever pizza slice. I could almost hear the arcade sounds of Pac-Man and Defender when games were just a quarter. The vodka sauce cheese slice wasn't just good--it was transcendent. I turned to my son for his verdict. His standards for a good slice are ruthless. His reaction? We both ordered another slice on the spot. The vodka sauce cheese slice is hands-down the best cheese slice I've ever had in Los Angeles. It may not be strictly traditional, but it stays true to its old-school roots while offering a slight twist that elevates it. Zoey and hubby have created something truly special. The ambiance is understated, but the flavors are unforgettable. This isn't LA-fancy with Peking duck or Jerusalem artichokes (those have their place); this is about pure, simple, East Coast-style pizza done to perfection. There are few places in LA that can pass my blind test for by-the-slice cheese. Heirloom Pizzeria is at the top of my list. I will gladly make the drive from Marina del Rey just for this.

Inside the restaurant was impeccably clean.

Was walking by and decided to grab a slice to go. Staff was super friendly and quick to greet me. Had a slice of the Spicy cheese pizza and was one of the best I've ever had. Thin crispy crust, a rich tomato sauce and the perfect amount of cheese. There wasn't any excessive noise and nice music playing in the background.

Litereally MY FAVORITE pizza . I will drive here from WHEREVER to get the pepperoni . Get it the way they make it which is either burrata , mint and hot honey . This place has the best vibe . Small little hole in the wall right on the ICONC melrose Zoey is just amazing she has the best service & really wants to make sure you love your food . They take such pride in their recipes . Order a whole pie or walk in and have it by the slice . So delicious

Highly recommend if you are looking for a quick place to grab a bite. They sell slices!!! My favorite is the bbq chicken pizza because I am a CA girl but really all of their slices are good. The ranch is more like a lemon aioli but still tasty. Service is fast and the people that work here are kind. Don't forget the hot honey!!

Good service, decent pizza, drinks are overpriced, pizza is a tad overpriced but I get it for the area.

I would come back just for this pasta alone. The tiramisu was chef's kiss So light, creamy, and the perfect way to end the meal. I lovedddd everything! The garlic bread came out hot and fluffy, but I do wish it had a little more garlic butter. Still yummy though! The chicken parm was good, but I didn't think there was anything super special about the flavor. I'd probably skip it next time and just get more pasta... Also, the decor is SO sweet and charming! Every table had its own little vase of fresh flowers, which was such a cute touch and made the whole place feel cozy and intimate. Overall, such a cute spot with AMAZING pasta. The vodka pasta + tiramisu combo is a MUST!!! Parking is either street or at a near by lot; it wasn't too expensive though!

This place is almost like hidden so if you don't pay attention, you might miss it. We checked in at the host stand and she took us to go eat near the bar. This place is not that spacious and can feel compact inside. We started out with the Garlic bread and Caesar salad. I thought the garlic bread was okay but I wouldn't order it again. They have the cola in the glass bottle here. My friends ordered the chicken parmesan and lasagna rollatini. I got the linguini and clams for my dish. Our food didn't take long to come out. The portion of my dish is small and for the price, I don't believe it was worth it. I thought it was fine beside the portion size. My friends like their chicken parmesan and lasagna. Customer service was great with us and our waitress was attentive.

This is a review about a three-hour dinner we were still talking about a week later…read more First, the smell the moment we walked in confirmed we were about to have some seriously good, authentic Italian food, and Mother Wolf delivered. Everything from the food to the pacing to the service was exceptional. It was impressive to see how seamlessly the entire staff worked together. Our server, the bussers, sommelier and kitchen seemed completely in sync. Courses arrived with enough time between them to actually enjoy the evening, our glasses were never empty, and someone always seemed to check in at exactly the right moment (never hovering, never leaving us wondering where everyone went). They actually made a mistake with one of our dishes, but even that became part of a great experience. They immediately acknowledged it and offered to make it right. We ended up loving what accidentally arrived and happily kept it. Mistakes happen; how a restaurant handles them says far more about the quality of its hospitality. We were celebrating two birthdays, and somehow the entire staff seemed clued in. From our first greeting through dessert, there was a warmth to the service that made the night feel genuinely special. We even ended up chatting with our server about other favorite restaurants in the area and bonded over our mutual recommendations. Our only problem with Mother Wolf: everything on the menu sounds incredible, so apparently we have to come back multiple times. Tragic. One word of caution unrelated to the restaurant itself: I'd skip the valet. Our keys were left inside our running car for about 15 min while the attendant had his back turned across the street, which made us pretty uncomfortable. There's a lot about a block away where you can park yourself for roughly the same price. Otherwise, absolutely loved our evening here. Incredible food, exceptional hospitality, and a meal you keep talking about afterward. Can't wait to come back--and hit the speakeasy next time!
