I've been to the Original Farmer's Market a million times before but always seemed to pass by Patsy D'Amore's Pizza. I'm happy today was the day that made that statement false. Know seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. This was the primary reason for my choosing PDP in the first place. I was hungry! I knew it, my stomach knew it. I needed something fast, and something that wouldn't require me to take a seat to consume. Hence, Patsy D'Amore's Pizza! This is some of the best pizza I have ever tried. I am truly shocked at the negative reviews, because I had a completely different experience. I love pizza and I think my tastebuds are more than qualified to be a judge of it. It's quality pie served at a conveniently fast pace. You'll receive your order, freshly made within 8minutes of paying for it. Wood fired pizza. I had a hankering for hot and greasy last night & Patsy D'Amore's Pizza fit the bill. If you're at Farmer's Market, you'll find them next to the donut shop, on the farthest east end of the shops. When they first opened in 1949, their 'cuts' were 20 cents! Now, you'll pay about $6 more than that for a slice of their pizza but any place being open that long is just wild! It is legend that Patsy and his brother brought pizza to Los Angeles - they had a shop together opened in 1939 prior to Patsy splitting off with this solo shop. There's a bit of LA Food History for y'all! When you look at this shop, you surely will just think it's a random pie shop, but they have a rich history! Okay now all that aside, the pizza here is pretty mid. Service could be stepped up with a smile when dealing with tourists so they end up loving our city, but hey - I don't need it. Made the trip from the Westside cause we heard good things about this place. Supposed to be historical . Well sure it's historical but that doesn't mean the pizza is good. So a bunch of famous people have been there. And sure the originators were from NYC. This pizza pales in comparison to many of the NY style places that have popped up in LA. Patsys wont even make it into my top 15. Also if you ask for garlic or pepper they put it in a little bag . And they are very stingy about the amount they give you. Just let people sprinkle their own crushed pepper and it will save time and money on those stupid little bags. Theirs was the best lasagna I have ever eaten in my entire life and has never been bested anywhere in the world that I have ever eaten lasagna, including MIlano! It is located on the east end inside the Old Farmer's Market (on The Grove side). The market is like a giant food court with a few other shops sprinkled in between. The design and appearance of this pizza spot make it seem finer than it is. The signage and colors are excellent right down to the font type used. They also have a nice open oven with a beautiful eye-catching flame. The pizza served whole or by the slice is good for what it is and where you are. It's fresh, satisfying, and gets an A-okay. I love pizza so it's great for a quick bite to eat while window shopping. The area especially on the weekends is usually very crowded with people eating all the types of food offered in the maze of booths. Disgusting place. Very racist people. We went to farmer's market at 12/28/2025 around 7:00 PM and decided to give this place a try. The place was very busy, everyone was getting 12' to 16' whole pizza, and ten people in front of us ordered whole pizzas, so when it was my turn with my mom to buy a 16' whole pizza, the lady with the green hair decided to not sell us the 12' to 16' whole pizza but instead offered us to buy their over priced slices of pizza ($6 usd each). So we agreed to buy 9 slices of peperroni pizza. We waited for almost an hour only to be told that they only have 4 slices of peperroni pizza ready, and they want to give our slices to other people who only have few orders. Like WTF, you made us wait that long and you want to give our pizza to the white people behind us who only ordered a few? Mind you those people just came in line for at least 10 minutes. Like we have to feed 9 people and you would take 4 slices from us because you think serving people behind us is more important that us who waited for freaking 1 hour? Are you fucking kidding me? This was so disappointing. They're taking a small pizza and cutting it into 4ths at $6 a pop. So a 6 dollar slice and it was so small with a couple of pepperoni on a PP slice. Yikes. Asked for a side salad. It was massively wilted and drenched in a bland Italian dressing. No textures, it was awful. I asked for a a sausage sandwich and I watched it sit on the counter for so long while they served customer after customer who wanted pizza slices. By the time they called me back, the sandwich bread was already chewy. Definitely not fresh bread. All in all, it was a $25 terrible order, (6 for slice, 4 for salad, and the chewy sandwich) . I'm positive I remember they used to be better. At this point, I won't be back. I hope they can improve back to good service and good pizza. The service is bad. I ordered 3 slices of pizza and the girl suggested I get a whole pizza for 50 cents more. She did not mention that there were 5 orders ahead and it would be 15-20 minutes before even putting the pizza in the oven and then 5-10 minutes after that I'd have my order. I asked for the pizza that came out of the oven first and she said that was the pizza for the front. After 20 minutes waiting I said forget it just give me the 3 slices and call it a day. This cut from the pizza sitting there full all along. The pizza was obviously cold. The associate was rude.
