One of the best pizzas in Seattle, in my honest opinion. Personally I like the Maria's garlic pizza. Also their "meat lovers" pizza is amazing. Its hard to get out of your comfort zone when you get such a great pie! The ambiance of the restaurant is also great, the owner has a "thing" for bicycles. After pondering over nearby Lampreia and Cascadia, my wife and I decided that we were not in the spendy mood, so we decided to try B.P. The place was busy and we had to wait for maybe 15-20 minutes. We were not particularly hungry so we didn't mind. When we got seated, we had to wait for maybe 10 minutes before our waiter came by with table settings & water. I didn't mind because it looked the the waiter had to wait on the whole place by himself!! Anyway, the grilled veggie & chicken salad was HUGE and my wife and I could only finish half of it, even with the foresight of ordering only the small (9") pizza. The salad was good, albeit a bit under-seasoned. The pizza (Josh's favorite) was great, with thin crust that I loved and sun-dried tomato, garlic, onion, chicken, pesto. One negative, the chicken on both the salad and pizza was dry. Otherwise the food was very good. The music was LOUD and looking at prior reviews, that's the way it is on weekends (we were there on Saturday). Reminds me of old college days... The pizza here is a true New York pizza. If you want thick crust or pan, go somewhere else. I am a fan of New York style pizza. This is the best I have had in the Northwest. The pizza is really delicious here. I like the Carlos Garlic pizza and the Northwest pizza. Of course, the a regular pepperoni is just as good. I like the large salads that are basically family style so everyone can have some. They are big enough for four people to have one. Happy hour is good and cheap. They usually have mulitiple pizza's to choose from. Service is hit and miss. I have had great service and a couple of times not so stellar service. I have fond memories of my days living in Belltown. My fondest must be of my 21 RUN and Belltown Pizza. I will preface by saying, the extent of my limited knowledge of cocktails and beer was bottled domestics and the fancy drinks you hear people ordering on TV. When asked by my friend what I wanted to drink I said the first thing that came to mind. A Long Island Iced Tea. SHIT. Am I a dumbass. I didn't actually know what was in it, but GOD can they make a good one at Belltown Pizza. I must have sucked down 5 of those little devils, easy. Slurring and pointing at my empty glass a couple times, the bartender was telepathic enough to know what I wanted without even having to ask. How thoughtful. I finished the night off with a Sex on the Beach (again, young and 1/10 retarded from all the alcohol), and no sex on the bed when I got home due to the fact I was calling Long Island by way of the big white porcelain phone. I will never forget this place. If you like watered down, soggy, greasy pizza, this is the joint for you. My group and I sat down around 9PM and ordered two large pizzas. Our waitress was nice and delivered us our plates and water pretty quick. The only problem was that our waters had pink lipstick on them and our plates were still wet with black marks across. We informed our waitress and she got us new plates and waters, only to get more plates with black marks. We didn't bother anymore because we were hungry. Our pizza came out and it was probably one of the worst, most soggy pizzas I had. I ate pizza in Cambodia that tasted better than this. I ate dinner with some friends. As we received our bill, we realized we wanted to split our bill. Unfortunately when the meal was finished and we received our bill, our waitress informed us that she splitting our bill would take 15 minutes. That's OK. Understandable that it might take a little more time. Afterwards, she then says that she can do it. She comes back in 3 minutes with a split bill for my party. The problem appears here: a 18% auto gratuity is added to every single one of our bills, with her blaming the machine for doing it automatically. I smell bullshit. The waitress showed laziness and I am of the opinion that she increased our table size to add the auto gratuity. Essentially, the 18% gratuity was not there on our initial bill. My entire group of 5 perceived this as a sign of laziness and attempt to spite our group for making her do a little more work. Would not come here again for bad business practices. read more

Stopped in for dinner during happy hour: draft beers were $3.50. Ordered a greens salad that had fresh and crisp romaine lettuce, tomato, and black olives tossed in a light vinaigrette. This was the first pizza place I've been to in a while that had a really tasty and fresh salad; kudos to Belltown Pizza for that! The veggie pizza was the main dish on this particular visit. Pizza here is pretty good. It's certainly not the best but I live nearby and the vibe of the restaurant is great so I'll be returning frequently. The Derby and the Duncan are by far the best pizzas I've had here, top notch stuff on those two. I have noticed however that pizzas with a lot of ingredients can tend to be on the floppy and oil-soaked side - not ideal. Fantastic food! The meat eater podcast brought me here. I was visiting Seattle and heard Steve Rinella talk about this place, I am glad I took his advice. My hat is off to Jimmy the owner, this is a cool place with a great vibe and even better food. The spinach and artichoke dip is the best I have ever had, for real. The other day I was walking through downtown, when a guy came out of a hotel and rapidly walked up to me. He was wearing a shiny, yet well tailored, gray suit with shoulders that would have made it quite popular roughly twenty years ago. In addition, though he had the same pale complexion you'd expect to see on a Satellite in mid-January, he had a wildly unkempt Afro that was whipping around in the wind, and looked as though it might rip his scalp off at any moment. Finally, his lips and chin seemed to be stained purple, as though he'd spent the afternoon drinking Merlot from a bowl. So, he walked directly up to me and asked: "Hey, man, do you know where I can get some good pizza around here?" And I panicked. "Um... pizza? ...Around here? ...um..." "Yeah, man, there isn't nothin' worse than bad pizza, y'know!" "Um..." I stammered, "If you go that way, you'll probably find some restaurants. I'm... not... sure... about pizza." "Thanks man!" He slapped me on the shoulder and took off toward Westlake. After walking another block, I realized I should have directed him to Belltown Pizza. It's a pretty solid pizza place, with a good variety of pizzas (I personally enjoy the chicken BBQ). My wife and I have always had a good time there. Wow! Such a great surprise. NYC pizza in Seattle. The sauce is light and a tiny bit sweet. The crust is thin with just the right amount of crunch. The cheese was perfect!We also ordered the large Caesar salad and it was more than enough for four people. It had great flavor. The environment is fun, casual and nice. Sports bar vibe, but not annoyingly loud. If I lived in Seattle, I would eat here EVERY week. My husband has been raving about this place and it did not disappoint me! We ordered the hummus platter for $7.95 and were amazed to see a generous amount of seasoned pita slices, hummus, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and calamata olives. The platter would have been enough for 4+ people to share as an appetizer. The pizza we ordered had thin-crust and delicious toppings, but at that point I was full from the hummus platter. While I waited I had a JWB on the rocks along with the good pour the flat screens were fully covering the M's game and there's really not a bad seat in the house to view. Its good pizza, but nothing that's super amazing. Its good though if you just need to get a quick pizza and some beer. But nothing I would go out of the way for, more if your just in the area. The nice thing on Wednesdays you can get a large pizza with a bottle of wine fore $20, which is a good deal. The pizza is big and the do but a lot of toppings on. We popped in here while walking around Seattle waiting for our flight. You could smell the pizza from the side walk and it's what made me want to stop in. They have a full menu with pizzas and salads and what not, but they also sell slices, which was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered the daily special which was pepperoni, bacon, and garlic. I came into Belltown Pizza today with some of my classmates to get a slice of pizza. After finishing our meal the manager Phillip confronted us and said quote, "Is there a reason why you guys continuously come here and not leave any tips?" I am a frequent customer of Belltown Pizza and have left a tip many times prior to this. This was my classmate's first time coming here too. The manager then complained and said that he "survives off of his tips." I notice that Brian L. is the owner here and I seriously hope that he is not paying his employees so little that they have to beg customers for their money. Phillip then said, "If you're not going to bother tipping, don't bother coming back at all." I honestly didn't expect to be disrespected this way when I just wanted to enjoy a $4 slice of pizza on my lunch break. Been here a couple of times. The pizza is fine, probably better than most local places. The beer selection is nice. The location and decor is great. However, this place has a couple of problems, probably due to poor management. First off, as others have pointed out, the servers can be kind of jerky-- like "I hate my job" jerky. Second, forget the booths near the door in the cooler weather. They are freezing cold. This is based on a number of visits. A better door-closer mechanism would solve most of this. Third, the place is insufferably loud. On a weekday early evening, we were sitting in a booth and could barely hold a conversation. The noise wasn't from audio system or the smallish crowd of customers. It was from the kitchen. The whole meal I kept thinking "Why isn't someone doing something about that guy slamming pans and dishes around all night?" Then I guessed he probably had headphones on, and as we were leaving, I peeked thru the window, and sure enough, the guy was wearing headphones, totally oblivious to the ear-bleeding racket he was causing to those on the other side of the wall. I came here on a Saturday night when I was hungry enough to choose the first place that would seat us. After trying a couple restaurants in the area, we chose this place because they were able to seat us immediately. The fact that they weren't overly crowded should not be a sign that the food wasn't good! I really enjoyed the pizza here. We ordered the "House" pizza which is a fresh garlic, roma tomato and feta cheese pizza. The feta cheese was really nice and not overpowering. The pizza had a thin crust which wasn't so thin that the toppings made the crust soggy. That's no fun. Overall, a very satisfying pizza. I like this place because everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is totally cool. The pizza's are pretty good and tha salads are great. They have a nifty location under apartment buildings in Bell Town, good luck finding parking but most people walk in there anyway. I liked the veggie pizza and the ceasar salad. Before moving to Seattle this year, I'd only visited once before back in 2013. We ate here and I had it logged in my phone because it was so good I knew I'd want to come back. I've been back once since moving to Seattle and can attest that it was another fantastic experience. The signature pies offer some great combos and they let you order half of one and half of another for one pie. The wait for a freshly baked pie is worth it as the crust is thin and crispy, and ingredients taste fresh. Both times, we've eaten entire pies in one sitting...and I'm sure it'll happen again. I only wish it was closer to home, but, then again, that could be dangerous. read more
