Vegetarian Options! Grandma Burrata, Grandma Veggie Royale and 4 Corner Fresh Mozzarella
Bailey R.

Okay so here's the deal - we've walked into this pizza place at least 10-15 times since moving down the street a month ago BUT we've only actually ordered pizza slices from here about 4-5 times... The reason being is because on our very first visit here, they had an AMAZING vegetarian slice of pizza (which we of course forgot to get the name of!) and we've been coming back to try it again, but it's literally not been available as a slice since. They typically only have about 2-3 vegetarian-friendly slices available on a regular basis: fresh mozzarella, regular cheese and something with zucchini on it. They sometimes have a grandma made with burrata, but we've only seen this once or twice. So what happens is this: if we walk in and all they have available for us vegetarians to eat is a fresh mozzarella or zucchini-something slice, we walk out and go somewhere else. This happens OFTEN! Which is so frustrating as this is the closest pizza place to our apartment and they have very delicious pizza. They just never have enough vegetarian slice options available!!! If you're not vegetarian, definitely give this place a try as they always have plenty of meaty options for you to choose from. If you are vegetarian like me, still check this place out but don't be surprised if you're not happy with the options available to choose from. It's hit-or-miss...

Pepperoni Slice

Service was very prompt but I was their only customer. I got takeout so ambiance was not taken into consideration. Slice itself was serviceable. Very greasy. Would recommend if you're looking for a decent slice. Flavor was nothing remarkable.

Best meal I had during my NY stay. Great char and chew on the crust with balanced flavor. Loved that it wasn't oily and the slice didn't sag Disclaimer: this was the only pizza joint I had time to hit up but well worth it Tried the: Buffalo (kick of flavor!) Great white (subtle) Cheese (Classic flavors) Pepperoni (can't beat the cups)

Woah. We stopped here close to 3:30p on a Tuesday, not your prime-time for hot pies consistently coming out the oven. Despite knowing we were not going to have a fresh slice, we ventured to mix it up with the trifecta (fresh mozz, pesto, vodka and tomato sauces) and a few grandma slices- ratatouille and plain. The grandma slices were solid- great crust, cheese overlapping the edges for some nice tasty burnt cheese corners (my fav on any pie)! The trifecta slices were absolutely fantastic! Zero flop, and the slices held the weight of additional sauces. The crust was thin and crisp with a dense chew. These guys know how to make you forget you got a slice of indeterminable age. Flavor profile was keeping the tastebuds jumping! Fun fact: My wife and I both started on the trifecta slices and a few bites in just KNEW this was the superior slice- so we stopped to eat the grandma slices JUST to finish with the trifecta.

Really good pizza. My boyfriend and I came for lunch on a weekend and had our choice of seating inside. NYC classic slice and Ratatouille slice were both perfect. Vodka pepperoni slice was also really solid.

I'm a big fan of this pizzeria due to a combination of factors including its close proximity to the subway, historical tradition beginning several years ago, and a true dedication to detail. Thin crust with freshly prepared ingredients, my favorite slice is the mushroom pizza with fontina cheese cooked just right. There are vegan options, individual pies and freshly cured pepperoni slices that feel like you're stuck in the classic 1950s. The staff are extremely nice and let you take your time asking questions about the variety of options they have in stock. The grandma's pizza slice is really good, too. There is plenty of space outside, especially during the summer days so you can feel the festive atmosphere of Astoria while devouring slices of special pizza not often found elsewhere.

Took my family here a while ago because it was a chilly, rainy day after picking up my son from school along with his cousins that were visiting at the time and they were all getting hungry and got excited for them because I've had the pizza here and I knew they needed a solid NY pizza that wasn't going to disappoint. After they came out I went to place the pizzas on the table not knowing that I hadn't pushed the tray all the way on the middle of the table and two perfectly beautiful slices fell on the ground The owner saw it all happened and I went to pay for two more slices. The owner graciously told me I didn't have to pay for the 2 new slices!! THAT is how you create loyal customers! Not only will I always stop by there when I pick up my son from school and he's itching for a slice but his cousins are new residents to Astoria and best believe they'll be regulars as well!!

Ambience: Bellucci opened in Astoria a while ago and it started off as a small shop and now has a whole seating area! After noticing how much it grew and the lines that are still present, I finally decided to try it! Food: we ordered an 18 inch pie - half burrata and half subway (there classic). I really enjoyed both pizzas! The burrata tasted really fresh especially with the tomatoes. The classic though was really delicious and I'd probably opt for that again! Service: they were really accommodating bc they were able to do a half and half pizza! I took them a while to figure out how to charge us, but they made it! Price: it is a bit more expensive than other pizzerias in Astoria but I think the uniqueness of their pizzas justifies the higher price!

Yummy GF cheesy bread
Cheryl N.

I was excited to try the gluten free cheesy bread. The price says $12. I saw $12 on the screen then the price changed to $16. I asked the person ringing me up why, then a guy in a white shirt who seemed in charge said what's the problem. I said the price changed from $12 to $16 I think there was a mistake. He said let me look and no the price is the price. A customer behind me confirmed the price said $12 on the board as advertised. The guy proceeded to look at the board which says $12 and said well, the board is wrong, I will change it on the board. I asked the guy if he could go or the advertised price and he said no. It took 3 minutes of convincing. He even went so far as turning the cash register around and showing me. I said to not mansplain to me. Silly man then realized it was because I was charged $4 extra by mistake for sides of ranch that are included. Instead of apologizing he blamed his employee at the register. The employee at the register was nice. Honestly for the horrible treatment they should have offered it for free. When he gave me my cheesy bread I said that I was disappointed in the treatment but I was looking forward to the cheesy bread. He did finally did apologize verbally. Which is great because who needs more conflict in the world especially now. I accepted but couldn't figure out why he lectured me for so long. Not sure why he was on a mission initially to prove me wrong, that's something he will have to search deep down in his soul and check his bias. The other customer left without ordering. Food 4 stars, service 2 stars. They were quick, order took less than 10 minutes.

This pizza spot was fairly solid. The flavors were solid and the price was somewhat reasonable. For personal preference, i wished it had some char and crispy pepperoni. The sauce was good. I think the price was $20+ for their medium size. Fun fact - This Bellucci Pizza spot is apparently not by the original owner.

Ate here today for lunch by myself during my lunch break while working full time and across the street as a teacher assistant at The 30th Avenue School (Q300). I had brought and ate the pepperoni pizza with a can of soda. It was great and delicious. The service there was also friendly, courteous and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose a pizza to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Yummy! 3 pm means pizza time!
Polly H.

The pizza is nicely done. The crust has a nice crunch. The dough has a crispy feel and and it's not too doughy. I love it! The staff is funny and is friendly. They offer freshly grated parmesan cheese on the top of your slice if you want it. I have been twice and neither visit was a disappointment. I had a grandma slice and also a plain triangle (circular sector). They have many different topping choices and also many options. Only downside is that it's tiny, and you might have to eat this at the park or at home? It is take out only. There's about the space of 4 people smashed together on a rush hour subway, so in case you are still feeling weird about indoor dining...it's just something to be aware of.

There was overlap in terms of this place. Seeing as how I have a good wood fired artisan pizza place in my job this should be decent I said to myself. As I enter I'm greeted immediately with a smile by what seemed like the day manager. As I'm sat down and poured my water I almost am already convinced which pizza I want but I look through just to read the nice lists of ingredients and picture each pie mentally. I ordered this nice pie with sausage and grano padano and notice I can add certain toppings. I chose egg because why not make it a pizza brunch? Pizza comes quick and hot. Tastes delightfully sweet and the char adds personality. The place is nice and rustic, warm and inviting btw. I appreciate the runner/busser as they operated as I would( I am one myself). They were quick and efficient in turning the table that just left, making sure he cleans the table in the same motion. The sunlight revealed a dirty table next to me so not all is perfect there. All in all though a tasty and pleasant experience. I would come back with friends to try more food and do a little day drinking. Nice spot in a cozy area of Astoria. Would recommend.

I've been coming to Milkflower for literal years and everyone here has consistently been so accommodating and attentive to my partner's vegetarian restriction. Today we were done working early and called at 3:30 to ask what time the lunch special (salad and a pie for $18) ran until. The woman who picked up said it ran until 5. We arrived just after 4. Once seated we asked again about the special - she confirmed it was still running and let us know that the salad was currently a Caesar salad. When we asked about the salad dressing, she told us it was vegetarian. The problem? It contained anchovies (the name of the dressing is lemon anchovy, printed on the menu). Even more concerning, our server appeared not to know what an anchovy was. For anyone with dietary restrictions, that's not a minor oversight -- it's a serious issue. If staff members are answering questions about ingredients, they should have a basic understanding of what's actually in the food they're serving. She went on to say there were no actual anchovies in it, that it was "just the name of the dressing." She again insisted there were no anchovies in it. When I pressed her further, she finally admitted that anchovies are blended into it. Again, I explained that means this dressing is not vegetarian, as literal fish are in it -- whether whole or blended, the dressing contains fish. When we explained the issue and asked about alternatives, none were offered. Not a different dressing, not a simple olive oil option, nothing. The complete lack of flexibility or effort to accommodate a reasonable dietary request was astonishing. She continued to offer the dressing on the side to my partner, which he cannot eat. 15 minutes later after ordering the salad with no dressing, the waitress came to our table to tell us the lunch special had actually ended at 4. We told her we called ahead and the woman we spoke to (presumably her since no one else was working, and since she herself believed it was still running when she sat us) said 5. There was no apology, no accommodation, no attempt to honor what we had been told over the phone -- just a shrug. For a restaurant that values customer service, especially for repeat customers, this was incredibly frustrating. We left without eating here. Mistakes happen. Phones get miscommunicated. Staff don't always have every answer. What made this experience so disappointing was the total absence of customer service at every step. We were given incorrect information, served misleading ingredient information, denied any reasonable accommodation, and offered no solution despite being loyal customers. Milkflower has always relied on its neighborhood reputation, but experiences like this make it difficult to justify returning. There are too many restaurants that value their customers and take dietary concerns seriously to settle for this level of indifference. If you have an actual food allergy (specifically seafood) please do your due diligence. If Milkflower management is reading this, please educate today's server that an anchovy is a fish, not just the name of a salad dressing, and that your lunch special ends at 4. Or hire a waitress who isn't so clueless.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

Our server was very attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout the meal. No complaints there at all. As for the food, it was honestly very lackluster. The best thing we had all night was the small original pizza, which I actually really enjoyed. The crust and flavor on that were solid. Unfortunately, the spaghetti with marinara sauce was a huge disappointment. At $22 just for the pasta, plus an additional $4 for ONE meatball, I expected so much more. It ended up being a $26 plate of pasta that, in my opinion, had almost no flavor. I kept wanting seasoning, salt, garlic -- something to make it stand out. It was just very bland. My husband ordered the polenta starter with shiitake mushrooms and bolognese sauce, which was okay, but nothing memorable. For the three food items, one cappuccino, and a sparkling water, the bill came to about $110 with tip. For that price point, I expected to leave impressed, especially after hearing the hype.
