great food and great service. this would be a hidden gem but everyone in this neighborhood has probably already been here or heard of it

Came back here and tried some new things: - Hash brown special: I forgot that hash browns and tater tots are different things, so that's on me. It was tasty and all sorts of toppings like scrambled egg and cheese, but don't think it's a must do. - I got the sir oink a lot and I appreciate the maple bacon aioli as a distinct taste, but the sausage is in pieces rather than grounded so I think I'd opt for a meat option that's more distributed next time around. - Also tried some desserts: the almond apricot tart was good but a little too much almond flavor for my personal taste. The pecan shortbread was much better but the edges were dried up so I'm not sure how long this was sitting there since the jar was full.

My favorite go to spot for a Panini! The service is always great. The food is delicious. It's a great environment with a back patio, which is great during the summer.

Still a must-try restaurant in Astoria. Still the best sandwich, panini, and crustini eatery in Astoria. I just came back after eating a chicken cutlet and a coconut dream with a hot cup of coffee. Everything was delicious, and this is a must-try recommendation if you are in Astoria!

Really cute coffee bar and restaurant. I visited for the first time and got the cookie butter latte and one of their homemade cookie bars to go. The baristas are pulling double duty taking and making orders so you may have to wait a few minutes if they are busy but the wait is worth it. I would like to come back and try the full sit down menu.

Have I really never reviewed my favorite restaurant?! I have lived in Astoria since 2008 and Il Bambino is still my favorite restaurant. From sandwich specials to soup to sides (don't skip the potato salad) to desserts to Nutella hot chocolate (!) this place has it all. I order from here almost every week. I cannot recommend it enough

The reviews don't lie - this place is amazing! I was visiting some friends in Astoria for brunch, and they recommended we meet at this place as it was one of their neighborhood favorites. I can see why - at its core it's a panini shop, but to just call it a mere sandwich shop does not do it justice. The ingredients are top tier, their paninis are perfectly assembled with perfect ratios of everything, service/atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The place was buzzing on a late morning on a weekend day despite inclement weather outside. Sipping on a warm coffee, enjoying a delicious sandwich, in the company of good people and good conversation, while looking out the window while it was raining @ Il Bambino will always be a core memory for me.

My wife and I make a yearly trip to Astoria to relive the year when we first started dating and I lived here. Luckily for us, each time we make the trip it starts here. An incredible panini shop. Every sandwich is incredible. While my wife has been loyal to the sir oinks a lot, I have meandered across the menu. Impressed everytime. We live pretty far away these days but will always make the yearly pilgrimage. Staff is super friendly and the seating area is always clean and inviting.

Definitely the place to go if you want a panini. They know how to create a textured crust and flavor combos are refined.

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day.

Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. All were amazing and is a must try when visiting. absolutely rec when you're on the east side!

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.
