It took me more than a month to see the result which is totally unwathchable (a blue screen appears every 5 sec). After I received the returned tape, I searched for local shop and found Mike's place. It took Mike only 6 days to finish the job and it is fantastic. It turned out that there is nothing wrong with my tape and the digital transfer is flawless. I regret that I didn't go to Mike first and end up wasting time and money (the Florida company refused to give me a refund for their poor job). I originally reached out via YELP and he responded within 24 hours with upfront pricing, and exactly what I needed to bring if I wanted a USB conversion. He told me he would have the job done within a week, and he delivered in less than a week. I suggest you either call or message them with what you need, and they will tell you upfront if they can or cannot do it and how much it would cost etc.

Very nice people but the conversion job was less than satisfactory. They gave me a hard time about…read moreit- blaming the age of the media and not their fault. They say they tried hard and made me feel bad saying they tried it on multiple machines and still the quality was poor. At that point they should have called me but they did not. She claimed it was 1 in 1000 that had this issue. I did the research and pointed out a possible fix; they sent my VHS tape over to their Torrance store and the result was noticeably much better. In the meantime, I missed my deadline and the poor version was not acceptable for the event we were planning to show it at. So I WOULD recommend this business but ONLY the Torrance store with the better equipped deck. I was made to feel bad for insisting on better quality- this was not a good feeling so I do not think I would use them again. (I imagine they are not going to cry about losing me as a customer) In the end, they gave me the fat file so we could do professional corrections on the file so I can still recommend them but they did say up front at the end, that they don't do this usually. And they did NOT charge me extra.

Before I called these guys, I thought having scanning done was going to be a complex task but they made it so easy. I had everything digitized from my family's old photo collection and also from my wife's family. Some of the prints date back to the 1940s. They did an astonishing job with all of my negatives, slides, and prints. They took the prints out of my old photo albums, scanned and put them back in the exact chronological order they were already in, just as though they had never been touched by anybody. Additionally, they did a great job packaging and condensing my other scanned loose prints and film into separate bags. They individually labeled each archived bag (which they provided for free) by group, indicating which digital folder names the photos were scanned into. When I received all our original photos back, they made it so I was able to put the perfectly organized boxes they provided directly into our garage, repackaged for long-term storage. Since we now have the digital scans of them, which look way better than the originals, there is no reason I can see the need to access any of the original photos or film again. However, I still don't have the heart to throw them out, so I'm glad they were able to really free up some space for me in how they returned everything. The quality of images left my whole family speechless. They images are very sharp and clean. Even displayed on my full screen tv, they look like they were taken on a high quality digital camera, if one existed decades ago. It's amazing how the color corrections (a service I added on) came out so well on my older photos. I'm seeing my childhood (that I thought took place in a red and orange world), in incredible natural but vivid color. I am very grateful for their generous and friendly customer service as well. I haven't encountered this level of customer service anywhere else in as long as I can remember. A big thanks to the whole crew over there for their excellent work digitizing my family's history. I'm so glad I went with them.
