I wish my child could attend this school forever and no that is not hyperbole. My baby was one of the first to join the guppies group when it was starting. We were getting ready to say goodbye to our in home nanny and had started to tour a couple of schools that left me....almost depressed? I was not sure I was going to find the right place that was accepting children under the 2 year mark that I felt comfortable with. When you have to return to work and trust another with your baby who is not fully communicating it is serious business. I had no intention to settle for anything that was just OK. When I walked into BSCC, taking in all of the bright rooms, clean space, interactive outdoor area and the ocean view I instantly felt a peace I had been searching for. Could I attend? Haha. I told Ms. Anna I would be right back with my son so they could meet, we could sign the paperwork and enroll immediately. Cut to now- he is almost 3 and I couldn't feel more lucky. Ms Erika and Ms Michelle (affectionally called Tita and Mimi) love my child like their own. My son started out nervous as most children and now he tries to call his teachers on the weekends from his toy phone to hang out. We get compliments on his vocabulary and sharing skills when he is out and he is also really getting down potty training! They have been so patient with him and give me great feedback. He has moved into Ms Dora's class where I'm sure he will continue to flourish. Outside of the regular curriculum the school offers fun activities such as Soccer Shots and Summer Friday water play where my kid always has a blast. They also have thoughtful events for the parents like their recent school wide art show, Father's day donuts with dad/ Mother's day flowers and coffee (complete with photo station). I am so thankful we found this place. I will be an absolute wreck when he graduates. read more

My two girls went to Belmont and LOVED LOVED LOVED! They didn't want to leave and I felt such a sense of peace when they were there, which allowed me to focus on work and all the things you have to handle as a parent. The transition to TK was very easy because they had lots of friends from the community at Belmont who graduated and went to local schools. Big shout out to Ms. Anna, Dora, Tamika, and Erica. My daughter has been attending since Feburary 2026. All the staff have been welcoming and helped my daughter adjust quickly. The center is kept very clean and tidy. I regularly see staff cleaning and disinfect toys, the playground is well kept, and the location is secure with a keypad on the door. My daughter loves her teacher Miss Tamika and the director Ana is super helpful. One of my favorite things so far was the art show they hosted showcasing all the childrens art- it was so cute! We only spent a short time here but we are looking forward to the graduation ceremony they will be hosting for the kids going to kindergarten next year. We absolutely loved the Guppies class! My daughter genuinely looked forward to going to school and absolutely adored her teachers, Ms. Ericka and Miss Michelle. They created such a warm, thoughtful, and supportive environment for the kids. Not only did she make friends and learn so much, but we also saw a huge boost in her speech and communication while in the program. She was already talking quite a bit before starting, but her language exploded even more during her time in class. One thing we especially appreciated was how mindful and caring the teachers were during our family's transition of welcoming a new baby sibling. They were so supportive and understanding, which made a big difference for all of us. We are so grateful for the love, patience, and care they poured into this class. We highly recommend this preschool to any parents trying to find a school that loves their students. We are so pleased with the all the staff at BSCC, especially Mrs. Erika and Miss Michelle in the Guppies (toddler) class. We value both teachers because they go above and beyond to care for our little ones in this beginner class. They are completely hands-on, have so much patience and always have a positive attitude. My son J started at exactly 18 months old and this is the perfect class for him. He loves the daily 'circle time' with traditional songs they all sing together. He enjoys arts and craft the most and they do this daily. This is so wonderful to get the kids messy, creative and have fun while learning colors, textures and sensory play. J's been at BSCC for 10 months now and his social skills improved and his friendships with peers are awesome as well. And now they are starting potty training at school. If I could give more stars I would! My daughter joined when she was just shy of 3 and we are finishing out her TK year with Ms Tamika. All of the teachers she has had have been wonderful! The classroom sizes are small. I love that for pick up and drop off we get to go into the classroom or playground to pick them up. Her previous daycare we weren't allowed past the lobby. The curriculum has been great at BSCC. They do STEM activities, writing worksheets, art. It is very well rounded! I cannot express how amazing it has been sending our 2 year old to BSCC (guppy class). She has been in the 18m-2y class for about 5+ months and we are seeing such an amazing growth in our daughter. She's learning her ABC's, counting, identifying animals, napping on a cot, eating meals with others, learning to share and play with her friends, learning to listen and follow directions, etc. While there was an adjustment period (of course), it only took her a few weeks to get into her grove and she gets so excited to attend her class and see her friends. BSCC provide an opportunity to celebrate holidays and birthdays together and they make their time their very special, educational and fun. I also cannot say enough great things about the teachers/staff. Most of our interactions are with Ms Ana and her teachers (Ms Michelle & Ms Erika) and they are kind, caring, responsive, helpful and its apparent the kids LOVE them and feel so comfortable and safe there. My daughter has been attending BSCC since she was 3. As a parent with little to no guidance in this ever-changing society, enrolling her into this daycare has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for her. I have been privileged to watch my baby develop with the best care of the most genuine and kindest of hearts, into one of the most compassionate, respectful, intelligent little human that never ceases to amaze. My daughter loves this school. Everyday (even on weekends), she speaks about her time at school; what she learned and how much fun she's had, with her peers and teachers alike. She wakes up excited and eager for school, saying how she is "ready to learn because learning is so fun" every single day. The environment has always been very welcoming; so cute, clean, comfy, a lot of fun activities to do and good selection of books (my daughter's favorite). The playground is safe and well-kept. I've had two kids go to Belmont Shore Children's Center and we have one more about to start, been here a total of 5 years. I can't tell you how much we love this school! Ms Anna, the director of the school, and all the teachers are absolutely incredible. They are warm, loving, and have done a great job at creating a welcoming and fun environment for the kids. My son has been attending Belmont Shore Children's Center for the past 2 years, and they have been such a blessing to our family. We enrolled him at BSCC when our in home daycare provider at the time moved away. From the start when Ms. Anna showed us around and explained their daily schedule to us, we knew our son would thrive here. Ms. Anna was always helpful if we had any concerns about how our son was adjusting to his new school setting. For the past 2 years he has learned so much and Belmont Shore Children's Center really prepared him for starting kindergarten this fall. All of the teachers at BSCC are caring and have really made our time with them fun. As parents we always felt comfortable talking with the staff if we were having any concerns with our son, and they have been able to provide us with tools to help encourage his good learning habits. The teachers planned so many fun activities for the kids to do. From art activities, water play activities on hot days, class cake decorating contests, and so much more. They also provided parents opportunities to join in the fun with activities like donuts with dads day and parent guest reader days. 2020 has been a challenge for all of us because of Covid-19. BSCC closed for a few months in compliance with state/county requirements, but from the 1st day of closure in March, Ms. Anna was wonderful in keeping us informed about what was going on. When kids were allowed to go back to preschool, BSCC had a very clear plan in place to keep everyone safe. The entire staff at Belmont Shore Children's Center has made sure that safety protocols are followed to keep my son and all other kids safe and healthy. It is very comforting to know that they truly love and care about the kids. As a family, we were sad to leave Belmont Shore Children's Center, but so incredibly grateful for how they helped prepare our son for his kindergarten year. My son started BSCC in the summer of 2021 shortly before he turned 4. He had attended another preschool briefly before Covid, but was very accustomed to being home and the transition wasn't the easiest, but all the teachers and Ms. Anna were so accommodating and let him go at his own pace. He can be extremely shy and tends to analyze and observe before deciding what he thinks. I was concerned that he wasn't engaging much with the other kids, but they assured me that little by little he was opening up. When I took him to the day they had ponies, I wasn't sure he was going to get near them (I had tried pony rides before,) but after watching a few kids, he decided that he wanted to take a picture and then he wanted a ride! I could see for myself how much he was coming out of his shell.He grew so much in the year plus that he was there! He developed relationships with ALL the teachers and Ms. Anna. He also made great friends that he still talks about and has playdates with. He loved all the special things they did for holidays, the water play days, BBQs, Santa and Easter bunny visits, PJ day and of course, the ponies. I loved the traditional learning that was happening as well as the STEM activities and art projects. I always felt like the staff was easy to talk to and somehow accommodating to each and every child. BSCC is a nurturing, kind, and fun environment to learn and explore! My son is a few weeks into kindergarten and he loves it! He is making friends, writing, rhyming, and coming home excited about learning! HIs kindergarten teacher just told me that she selected him as student of the month! I give credit to Ms. Tamika, Ms. Dora, Ms. Erica and Ms. Anna for not only preparing him, but for building him up and getting him excited for all the adventures at a new school. read more

Belmont Shore Childrens Center is absolutely wonderful. My granddaughters started attending when they were 2 years old and graduated from the T-K class in June. The staff, teachers, director are the best. They are loving, caring and exceptional. The facility is immaculate and the playground is the best-different play areas for different ages. My granddaughters loved it so much that they wanted to go visit before they started big kid's school! My granddaughters are well prepared for Kindergarten this year, thanks to the education and love they received at Belmont Shore. Their graduation ceremony in June was one of the best graduations I ever attended. I highly recommend Belmont Shore Children's Center without any hesitation. I cannot say enough about BSCC. My son attended the full day program for two years until this summer ended and he started TK at the same school as his sister in 2nd grade (who also attended BSCC during summer breaks). My son grew so, so much from the first drop off. His social/emotional learning excelled as did his academic learning. He was two when he began attending BSCC and was in Ms. Dora's class. She is amazing...she is so kind, guiding and fun. She really helped my son learn to be independent and to be excited about learning. Eventually, my son moved into Ms. Erica's class and he grew in leaps and bounds. Ms. Erica found things about each kid to bond with them over and it really was a relief as a working parent knowing my son was in caring hands every day. And we finished at BSCC in Ms. Tamika's class...and oh my goodness she is a godsend. She is so patient and so intelligent - my son learned so, so much from her. He is excelling in TK both inside and outside the classroom and I owe that to BSCC. Finally, I honestly cannot give enough credit to Ms. Anna. Running the school is no small feat and she makes this place magical for the kids. I'm talking pony rides, BBQs, face painting, and more. Ms. Anna is always available to answer questions, you can be candid with any concerns you have regarding your child and she makes you and your child feel welcome and safe every day. I know it was time for my son to move to the traditional TK classroom, but I miss BSCC and will always be grateful for their role in my son's development. read more

***NEW DIRECTOR ALERT!*** Usually when a new director comes along, it can be chaos and worrisome. This is the complete opposite in this case. Ms. Fawzia has the credentials and attitude to take this pre-school to the next level and I'm excited to see what she does. She is so calm and reassuring, even though my son can be quite the handful and the teachers have been sweet to him as well. Lunch is catered every day and there is a great variety of food. And honestly, you cannot beat the price, especially for this area. When we first started coming here, it seemed a bit disorganized and chaotic; I think the original director was just overwhelmed. I enrolled my 3 year old there because I heard nothing but good things about this preschool. To my disappointed it was horrible a experience, the director there was new and obviously not qualified. The first day my daughter was there she got hurt and the accident report had misspelled words. I approached the director Miss Anna about it and she was extremely rude about the whole situation. I immediately pulled my child out and please if you're thinking about signing your child up at this preschool make sure to ask the director for her credentials, says alot about a place when the person in charge is not qualified. read more

We started sending our 2 year old son here and I can't say enough good things about the facilities & staff here!! We saw an improvement in his language skills & confidence with in the first month. They worked with him during nap time and now he is sleeping more calmly through the night too! They also work with him on potty training which has really been a great partner to our at home potty training and he has progressed in this area as well! My 3 year old daughter has been going here for almost a year now (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and absolutely loves it. For me the most important things about pre-school is seeing your child learn in this early developmental stage, and seeing your child excited to go to school every day, and those are both solids yes for m. When she started Ms. Sophia was director and now Ms. Reza is the director and I can't say enough nice things about both of them. Ms. Katie is my daughter's teacher and has done wonders for her. All of the teacher's I've had the pleasure of meeting are great as well. The fact that it's about 50 feet away from the pier and the beach is just an added bonus. My nephews started here when they were 2 and 4 years old. The family was new to the area and very nervous. I am sure my nephews cried for the first week. Miss Sophia and Anna were very caring and made sure that they boys felt comfortable. It was very sweet and a big relief for us. The school and the parents felt like an extended family before long. My kids have been here since they were two years old and now they're 4 1/2 and still loving it! The school is a perfect balance of structured learning and tons of playtime and exploration. We've seen a few other schools and BSCC has the best and biggest outdoor play area. The school is well kept and clean. The class size, teacher to kid ratio is good. My kids are getting the proper attention they need in terms of safety and learning. The parking can get tricky having the gym next door but it's a small price to pay for having the school right on the beach! read more

My 2 year old has been attending for almost a year, and we love it! Her teacher got to know her very well and very quickly and teachers are very kind and attentive to the students. They always have a lot of activities planned for them and I like that there is a lot of outside time for them to play. They also do several circle times throughout the day which my daughter loves. The new director seems fantastic and is always there, and her philosophy (Reggio Emilia approach) is one that should be seen in preschools more often! My husband and I were excited to enroll our daughter at BSCC and initially loved the location and how the school seemed so kid-friendly (art projects all over the walls, lots of toys and educational posters etc). I remember feeling as though I would have loved to go there as a kid, and my sentiments were proven true when the first time my daughter visited, she expressed her excitement to start going there. One of the main reasons we chose this preschool over others is that they were to provide snacks and lunch. However, we found out the week we enrolled that this was going to change by the beginning of the following month. We were not given a notice, but found out from another parent instead, and were only given a notice after we brought it up to Sophia, the director there. We also found that the snacks they provided consisted mainly of juice and animal crackers, as well as ice cream on occasion. I didn't particularly like this, as we don't tend to eat much sugar in our household, since my family has a history of diabetes. I also soon found out that the kids watch tv. EVERY DAY. This I liked even less. Given the weekly tuition, it bothered me quite a bit that during that time I could have just given my kid my iPhone and put on some Netflix for free. Anyhow, we understand that every family has their preferences and decided that this place was not a good fit for us, so we decided to terminate. Since the handbook stated that each child gets one week of vacation (wherein tuition does not need to be paid), and that 2 weeks advance notice is required to terminate, we let Sophia know that we would like one of the 2 weeks to be considered vacation. We actually did not bring our daughter to either of those two remaining weeks, though we continued to pay tuition. On the Monday after we officially terminated, I called Sophia just to make sure that I was not charged another week (it was automatically debited from my account) and was very upset to find that I was charged anyways later that day. I called (multiple times) to request a refund for 1. the week that should have been considered a vacation and 2. the week that they wrongfully charged me for, and OVER six weeks later and I have still not been refunded. I call weekly and Sophia always tells me that she will contact the bookkeeper (who has not returned any of my calls). She also never calls me back when she says she will. I was hoping that this would be a quick and amicable termination of services, but now I feel as though BSCC is purposely deflecting to avoid giving me a refund. To say that I am frustrated is an understatement. read more

The review that mentions the Reggio method needs clarification -that director was only there for a few months and ostracized. The rest of the teachers loathed her because they're not highly credentialed and that director was Phd. This "preschool" has nothing to do with any education methodology. Kids are not allowed to have any stains on their clothing. (Good luck with that!) They're not allowed to take their shoes off. They excessively use time outs which are not age appropriate. The parent handbook is blatantly discriminatory against any children with developmental delays. I have heard repeatedly from other parents that have gone to different preschools around the city that their child flourished when they LEFT BSCC. And everyone has gone somewhere different. BSCC is one to avoid unless you only care about your child being safe-guarded. But beware they won't even put sunscreen on your child and they let them stay out when air quality is bad and sun is harsh. It's a glorified daycare. They cannot teach or discipline effectively because they have minimum training and operate at maximum permitted ratios. Lunches are hotdogs, pizza, tacos, chicken nuggets. Snacks are animal crackers. Buyer beware. It's $ is on the low end of the scale but buyer beware because in this case you get what you pay for. read more
