The tire wall had a quarter sized hole, so repair was impossible. They recommended Hamid's service center at the Shell station across the street. I actually drove the car a little more than a block very slowly on the rim. Hamid amazed me finding tires for a subcompact car in less than a day. It always takes us a couple of days to get tired even at PEPBoys or the dealership. The morning after talking with Hamid, my car was ready. Price was very reasonable. My husband was shocked. We thought we'd be without a car for the better part of a week with a heavy bill. Incredibly fast, efficient service at a reasonable price. Great experience.

I was getting the runaround from the dealership (yet again) and enduring poor quality work from other stations....finally got fed up and brought my car here (for the tire repair mentioned below), after remembering how nice Navy, the cashier and owner's wife, had always been when I bought gas... College Park Auto Service quickly fixed my tire on the spot (which the dealership said I needed to have replaced, as well as all my other tires...I had replaced all four tires about a year ago...I mean, really?!!) College Park Auto also quickly repaired a right turn signal light which had been acting up for over a year (and which both the dealership and other auto repair places had not been able to figure out...) My right turn signal is now working normally, after a simple and inexpensive fix by College Park Auto---YAY!!! Thank goodness for this place, and for the awesome and humble mechanics here, especially Tek (and Navy is super funny and friendly)....This is my go-to place from now on for all my car maintenance and repairs (except body work, which they don't do).... Super grateful for businesses like these!

The mechanic (RAY) put my car into the bay immediately and started working on it. I then received a call that the roters look bad and I should change those too. I went and got the parts BRAND NEW from a reputable company and dropped it off within 30 minutes. RAY still had my car on the bay and he continued to work. This was 11 am by the time I brought the roters to RAY. I kept calling to get an update because more than 4 hours passed. The receptionist kept answering the phone and placing me on hold for extended periods of time. After 30 minutes of waiting on hold, I hung up and called back, I was placed on hold again. My car wasn't ready until about 6pm that evening. ( that was the first red flag) Over the course of 5 days my brakes were squealing very loudly. It sounded like metal scraping against metal. I thought that the new parts needed time to set in but then the screeching got worse and I knew something wasn't right. I called the Bowie Sunoco and spoke with the supposed manager(short middle eastern man with a long black ponytail), I described the situation and he asked me to come into the garage. It was 4:45 pm by the time we hung up, I got to the garage at 5:07 pm. I approached the manager and was expecting him to atleast look at the vehicle, no. He stated "You need to call the manufacturer because they sold you faulty parts." I asked "how do you know that if you never took a look at the car?" Then he stated "Well it's after hours." I asked "Why did you ask me come then?" He had no answer. I then stated "proper customer service would've been to ask me to show up at a specific day and time being as though yall were closing." He then said come back tomorrow... Tomorrow came and I drove my vehicle back to the shop. There was a different manager there now. RAY THE MECHANIC that originally did the repairs on my vehicle was there again. RAY asked me to wait while they checked the issue. RAYS diagnosis was that the roters I got were bad. They instructed me to go buy new parts and come back so they can change the roters again. They also were charging another brake replacement fee. Half of $135 I drove to store to buy the parts, I was gone for 15 minutes tops. By the time I came back RAY ,THE MECHANIC that was supposed to be repairing the vehicle, all of a sudden he went home an hour before they closed. Now they were asking me to keep my vehicle over the weekend and to pick it up on Monday. I said "How am I supposed to trust that when you just asked me to get parts but sent RAY THE MECHANIC home. (MAJOR RED FLAG) The manager that was there that day(a different middle Eastern man with a short cut about 5"8) He responded and said I can't help you with your trust. At that point, I called another trusted mechanic so that he could take a look at my vehicle. MY MECHANIC disassembled the brakes and roter and put them back on the proper way. HE MADE CLEAR THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THOSE PARTS. RAY DOESNT KNOW WHAT HES DOING AND SHOULDN'T BE CHANGING BRAKES ON LUXURY VEHICLES. I drove off and the very loud squeal was no longer! I was saved a lot of time and money. Only thing left to do is return the parts they had me repurchase. I've gone to this location Over 10 years. I DEALT WITH MIKE WHO WAS THE FAMILY MECHANIC. Mike was very educated, honest and a good man. He took his work very seriously and was more concerned with helping the community. If you dropped your car off with Mike, it WILL GET FIXED. There's no coming back a week later to say the repairs were faulty. Mike has since passed on. I miss him a lot. The only thing that frustrates me is that they don't care to uphold the integrity of Mikes good business practices. Majority of the people still going there for repairs are out of respect for the Reputation that Mike built. Rest in power Mike I wouldn't suggest getting anything more than a tire change from this location now. Customer service is terrible and the quality of work is even worse. The mechanics complain non stop about the commission breakdown so there's a disdain toward the job to begin with. Ray is always angry and rude. I believe he doesn't care to fix the work, let alone do a good job because he doesn't feel he's getting paid enough to begin with. Im still monitoring the vehicle to make sure there's not a bigger issue based on Rays poor work. If you're ok with terrible customer service, no accountability and money grabbing with illegal immigrants working on your vehicle, which can make it hard to hold them accountable in the court of law. Proceed at your own risk. They do not understand the concept of customer service, community or accountability. All they see is money.

This was my first experience working with Asif and Waseem as I typically handle my vehicles' service myself. Unfortunately, I needed items addressed quickly so the vehicle could be taken on an unexpected trip. I asked for a quote to have the following done: remove/replace both rear hub bearings and remove/replace rotors and pads. They quoted a reasonable price and a very quick turnaround of done by 5PM the next day. I dropped off my vehicle, and it was done before 3PM the next day. The price paid was the price on the estimate, plus the cost of a new rear caliper, as one was seized. In addition, they cleaned and adjusted my parking brakes, which haven't worked well since the last time I did the rear brakes. AGAIN - - - EXCELLENT AND ON TIME SERVICE!

You becha!…read more This is NOT the Jiffy Lube that is at the intersection of Route 1 and Greenbelt Road, this one is farther up Route 1 near USDA; it has a second back entrance off Rhode Island Avenue. I adore this Jiffy Lube, the staff is really friendly and well-trained. They are super speedy, but have attention to detail. The waiting area is very clean (though the selection of magazines sucks - only sports and car themes - what's wrong with a basic Time or some news magazine?). They will of course suggest different things to increase your price, but they are also honest. They will pull out my air filter and admit that it does not need to be replaced, that my wiper blades are in just fine condition, that with the year and model of my car I may not need X, or can wait a while longer for Y. If you decline any upsell, they don't push, they let it go. I have been to several Jiffy Lubes and they experience varies. Had something stolen from my car at one, another they were condescending because I was a woman and assumed I knew nothing about cars, another they were nasty after I declined every upsell. Never at this location, they are consistently pleasant, professional, and seem to really care about their job and the success of the location.

At this time (June 25th), I was informed that my engine was no longer viable--a fact that was not disclosed to me during either visit, despite extensive diagnostics and repairs. On June 13, I was charged $875.64 for a range of services including ignition coil replacement, synthetic oil change, and tire rotation. Then, on June 23, I returned due to continued issues and was charged an additional $396.42 for a valve cover gasket replacement, which would supposedly address the engine issue. The technician noted oil in the spark plugs and a leak from the valve cover gasket, yet failed to inform me that these symptoms likely indicated a more serious engine failure. Had I been properly informed of the engine's condition during the first visit--or even the second--I would not have authorized further repairs. The lack of transparency and failure to diagnose the core issue resulted in unnecessary expenses and lost time. Save your time and money and choose a different mechanic. I am utterly disappointed after patronizing this shop for the last two years. Do better.

Unfortunately, our experience with the team here was disappointing. There appeared to be a lack of internal communication, which created confusion and unnecessary complications during a time-sensitive situation. We initially brought in our vehicle and received guidance from one of the mechanics on how to proceed. When we returned at a later time to pick up the vehicle, we encountered a different staff member who was unprofessional and released the vehicle without providing a quote for the recommended services. Subsequently, another staff member took an approach that directly contradicted the original plan discussed, which ultimately made things more expensive and confusing. When we returned once again, we were given a paper quote that was significantly higher--by several thousand dollars--than what was originally communicated via text. Due to the inconsistency, poor communication, and overall frustration, we chose not to move forward with their services. It was a costly and stressful experience, and we would not recommend this shop to others.
