The burritos here are amazing. Get here early they seem to go quick! Will try the coffee next time.

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog! This place is a treasure. Try the chorizo breakfast burrito so yum and the house made salsa delicious! Omgosh the latte was incredible with house made vanilla bean syrup. It's so beautiful inside and quiet enough to have great conversations as you sip your latte or fruity flavored lemonades. One of the few spots open early in the area, which was perfect for us since we were so jet lagged and craving a good cup of joe at 6 AM! This place is a solid 10/10--amazing coffee, welcoming vibe, tasty food, and super friendly people. I mean FRIENDLY! As a decaf drinker, I can be picky since some decaf can taste off, but theirs was bold, creamy, and rich. My decaf breve was spot-on. I also tried the reindeer burrito--OMG absolutely delicious. This was a great hidden gem that we stumbled upon in our travels around Anchorage. The barista let us sample both coffees on drip to see which we would prefer. We ordered their breakfast burritos which were super tasty! If we were staying longer in the area, this would become a regular spot. read more

The food is good. I've had a few of their burritos now the chugiak chorizo is very good and has a nice kick to it. The O'Malley Maple is still my favorite can't go wrong with maple syrup in anything . The staff are friendly and nice, and the service is great. The place itself is very clean and nice and definitely a good place to sit and hang out. My grapes are they don't have a burrito card yet. My wife doesn't like that all of them have sausage. But that's OK. This will be the place I go without her. $10 seems expensive until you bite into the burrito and the quality is very very good. I have to remind myself that I live in Alaska and pay nine dollars for burritos at coffee shops that are frozen in the middle and nuclear hot on one side. Went in here on the off chance and because i didn't fancy a "bowl" of whatever they had in Sweet Caribou. Those sort of bowls are not at all tempting to me. Burrito seemed the better option for me. I order the one with Maple something in the name, and Blake ordered the Classic. They told us 15 minute wait. OK, that's not too bad, and it's a nice space, i like the artwork/mural on the wall, and the natural wood/resin pour tables - those look like all custom work. On the plus side the Burritos came in less than the 15 minute period they gave us. But on the negative side, my Drip coffee, wasn't particularly hot. The Burritos were an acceptable size for lunch time, however mine was scorchingly hot on the outside, so i cut it in half. And a piece of breakfast sausage fell out so i ate it, and it was cold. So I'm assuming that these are pre-assembled Burritos, heated up on a panini maker or grill pan, and the contents weren't hot all the way through. It was not pleasant to be honest, i left about 1/3 of it. Blake said his was hot all the way through, and the 1/3 i left of mine, he ate that, and said that his had been way better. Honestly, very disappointed with it, i only gave 3 stars because it's a nice space, and because he enjoyed his Burrito, but i won't be returning, because i recently had a Breakfast Burrito in Girdwood, that was really good, and freshly made, and the breakfast potatoes REALLY tasted like country potatoes, properly cooked, prior to being wrapped, and it had enormous flavour. This one I had at Bema was mediocre, and disappointing. I really don't like leaving reviews if they are less than stellar, but improvements can't be made if we just say everything is amazing all the time. Pre-assembled, reheated Burritos? Nope. Maybe for a Coffee stand, but not for a nice space like this. If Burritos is all you're preparing, then do them well. Cook from fresh - it tastes way better. read more

Bema cafe- I have been wanting to try this cafe for awhile and started to look it up but it's online presence is very shallow, probly because it is relatively new! This cafe is right next door to sweet caribou, formally in the uncle Leroy's cafe. Actually has no door between sweet caribou and on the other side is zip kamboocha tap room. I grabbed a sandwich next door then headed over and ordered myself a 16oz mocha. If I'm correct I think they are the same owners as sweet caribou and they decided to take on coffee or partnered with someone who already did. They roast the coffee in house. My mocha was pretty good, all $5. Fresh tasting and had that coffee taste which I long for in a coffee. I don't order hot chocolate for a reason. The lady taking money was super nice and they have a high tech system. I asked about punch cards- they didn't have the same ones as sweet caribou and said they were in the process of getting their own. I just feel like in this town with no short of hundreds of places to get espresso, you need to stand out from the rest. Their coffee may not with the plain cups, but roasting in house is a stand out and the atmosphere was on point. Beautiful colored mural on the entire wall and beautiful tables to sit at. This is maybe the #1 place in town to pickup a breakfast burrito! It's hard to even find a breakfast burrito in this town, but the ones that you do find call into two categories: 1) cheap and small ones from a coffee stand you could probably make at home. 2) fancy and overpriced ones at some of the trendiest brunch spots in Anchorage. The breakfast burritos here slot neatly in-between these two categories. They are much faster than #2, but still not as fast as coffee stand burrito (allow ~15 minutes for them to throw them in the oven) The flavors are my favorite part, they are varied and unique: The burrito options are: Redoubt Reindeer: Reindeer Sausage, Roasted Red Pepper, Harissa Sauce, Cheddar, Roasted Potato, & Scrambled Egg O'malley Maple: Bacon, Breakfast Sausage, Tabasco Maple Onion, American Cheese, Cheddar, Roasted Potato, & Scrambled Egg Chugach Chorizo: Spicy Chorizo. Pepperjack, Pico De Gallo, Zesty Roasted Potato, & Scrambled Egg Cook Inlet Classic: Breakfast Sausage, Cheddar, Roasted Potato, & Scrambled Egg Valdez Veggie: Smoky Tomato Confit, Cheddar, Roasted Potato, & Scrambled Egg Definitely something for everyone! I also found their drip coffee to be really unique and inventive. My only critique is that it can seem like it takes a while for the burritos. Amazing coffee!!! Run don't walk. Great ambiance, the breakfast burritos are outstanding with ingredients that are crafted with care -- like roasted tomatoes and homemade green salsa. Same chefs for food as the Sweet Caribou salads, say no more. read more

I went in to give it another try while I was around the area. I tried to order O'Malley maple burrito but they said I would have to wait 13 min. They said the only thing that will come right out is the reindeer one. I needed something quick to grab to return to work so I just ordered the reindeer. It was delicious but not necessarily mind blowing. Just a hearty warm breakfast burrito. It came with salsa and sour cream. I gave it one more try for iced matcha latte. It had more flavor than just milk unlike the last time (thank god). But the match was not shaken up too well that I had to use the straw to stir it for a while before drinking and while drinking. Also unlike other cafe, they didn't put any syrup in there so there was not much sweetness to it to elaborate the bitterness. I wish they put one pump of simple syrup to help with flavor a bit better. Maybe I should've ordered iced vanilla matcha but I don't like vanilla flavor in matcha latte. Hmm I don't know if I would order the matcha again but I will probably try other coffee drinks next time. read more

Visited 10/2 early in the AM. The two guys working were incredibly friendly and helped me choose coffee and a burrito. Ended up with the Guatemalan and an O'Malley which were both solid but the burrito had a bit too much cheese for my taste and I didn't think much of the salsa either so would probably go without next time. read more

This is my new go-to for great coffee in Anchorage. I am a coffee snob who loves good pour over coffee. I discovered Bema this week and it did not disappoint. Columbian V60 pour over was fantastic. Owner Jeremy seems like a great guy who loves great coffee. I will be going back. I also love the bar seating and the large tables for working. 5 star all day! read more

I absolutely love this little shop! The vibe is just so calm and quiet compared to the bustle of the other businesses in the strip. The staff is always super friendly! And the coffee always tastes so good! It has such a unique flavor and the syrups taste very fresh - I only have one other place to compare it to and they closed during Covid, they made their lattes with housemade vanilla bean syrup and honey, it was always worth the extra drive, and the lattes here taste just like that! I haven't tried the food yet but it always sounds so tasty. I would definitely recommend stopping by. read more
