DDD - Guy Fieri

Our first visit so the staff member said they choose what you eat and if you don't like it after 2 bites, you can choose something else. What a concept "Try before you like it ". This establishment has been featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins & Dives (see photo) and is very inclusive which was super cool. You can write on the wall about your visit which I found to be fun and inviting. I had the House Omelette which was surprisingly flavorful and excellent. It was exactly what I was looking forward to for breakfast. I tried some of the chicken from Crazy Uncle and was amazing! I was so surprised and delighted as was the rest of my party. Now, I have to pay and that is where I will share my appreciation :0)

I've been to Waffles and Whatnot three times in just the past couple of weeks, and every visit has been incredible! Leer (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong!) has been absolutely amazing each time--so kind and welcoming--and the same goes for the other cashiers and cooks. The whole team creates such a positive vibe from the moment you walk in. My go-to meal? The chicken, mac & cheese, and waffle loaded with cookie butter, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. On my very first visit, they asked what flavors I liked, and I told them "sweet and savory"--and they nailed it. Ever since then, it's been my regular. I always think about trying something new, but I can't help coming back for that combo--it's just that good. Today, Leer mentioned they were exploring opening new locations, and I told her Fort Worth would absolutely love a place like this. With the owner being a veteran and Fort Worth having such a strong military community, I know people there would rally behind it. We love supporting our own. Also, if you really listen, the music playing in the background is all original--and every track tells a story about the restaurant's culture, energy, and mission. That level of intention just makes the experience even more special. All in all: great people, great food, great energy. Hopefully we'll meet again in Fort Worth! Editing to add a BIG shoutout to the man running the window that food gets picked up from. I saw him let a customer (who looked like he was wearing a kufi) know that the Mac n cheese was cooked in bacon grease. The customer was unaware of this and was grateful and changed his order. That kind of cultural awareness and honesty shows that place isn't just about great food--it's about heart.

Two words: speech-less! Hands down without a doubt the best waffle I have ever had. Thankfully as a first time customer I didn't have to make the hard choice of choosing just one item off of the incredible looking menu. And I was pleasantly surprised at what I received. The softest, lightest waffle with the perfect sweetness and the most tender, crispiest chicken I've ever tasted. Paired with the spicy bbq sauce the creamy Mac I was in love after one bite. This place knows exactly how to do waffles the right way. The food came quick and served hot. This is the perfect spot for a filling meal that will warm the winter away!

Cute set up. Spacious

Super nice staff. Bring your own water. Delicious fried chicken with spicy dipping sauce. My mouth was on fire. Wonderful local spot hope for more business for them because they deserve it. It is situated in a weird strip and parking can be scarce if too busy.

Delicious food! Their first timer "we pick your meal" deal and if you don't like it in two bites they make you something else ! Spot on perfect! Steven was a delight.

Food came quickly and was delicious as it always is :) When ordering this time though I was rushed to move along with it being steadily busy, as it usually is on a Sunday afternoon. As I went to add my email after paying, the woman skipped allowing me to add my rewards for my $20+ order which would have gotten me another reward. When I expressed I wanted to add my rewards with a new card she told me I couldn't. Overall great food and experience , employee just seemed a bit overwhelmed.

WAWN quirky, graffiti interior decorating style.

They say, "You can't judge a book by its cover,"and that is true of this restaurant. We went to Waffles And What Not (WAWN) because it was featured on Food Network's Diners Drive-ins and Dives. This place is an unassuming hole-in-the wall that we probably would not have tried if I hadn't noticed that it was featured on Food Network. I am glad I did. Playful, and quirky, WAWN was a delightful breath of fresh air on an otherwise gray day. We were greeted with a promise that first time patrons would have their meals chosen for them, If we didn't like what was served within two bites; they would take the uneaten food no charge and prepare food of our choice. They chose perfectly. Like the three bears I like my food savory, my son likes his food sweet. My wife likes her food savory and sweet. My son's Chocolate Banana Belgian waffle was very sweet and he loved it. My wife's Chicken and Waffles served with mac-n-cheese was perfect. She loves Mac-n-cheese. My waffle Sandwich filled with eggs, chicken and Bacon with cheese was so filling I could only eat half! I can't wait to eat the other half! Their coffee was rich and flavorful as well. The restaurant interior is decorated with customer graffiti. Patrons from days gone by have shared their names, art and wisdom in multicolored markers over most of the walls. A few flat screens display menu items and feature local advertisements. One monitor near the register shows the menu. The tables are bright red wooden picnic tables. WAWN looks a bit sketchy from the outside, and truthfully from the inside too. But, it is delicious food at Alaska affordable prices. Our total bill was about 60.00 with tip. Which is on the lower end for Alaska where I have found prices are about 20% or more higher than the lower 48. I absolutely recommend this gem to locals and visitors alike. It is quirky but in a good way that is fun and delicious, like art that should be cherished. Definitely, an experience I recommend.

Combination meal that was picked for me.

I stopped in on my coworkers' recommendation. I like the concept. All meals are based on the waffle. The staff is friendly and fun and helpful. When you walk in for the 1st time, you could be overwhelmed. The staff makes your first pick, if you don't know what you want. If you don't like it, you get a free replacement choice. You can choose, sweet, heat or a combination of both. The concept is breakfast all day. There is space in the dining area. You aren't packed in like sardines. The dining area is well kept and neat. My meal was actually pretty good. Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here.

Amazing food! Great customer service. If you are new here, they'll make your first meal for you and if you don't like it, you give it back. But you'll absolutely like it! Everything is so flavorful, hand made, and delicious. Will come back again.

Our first meal (has gluten), hubs gave 9/10!

Okay... walking in we didn't know what to expect hearing they pick your first meal based on flavor preferences of sweet, savory, or sweet & savory, but it was well worth it! Service was great and the place definitely is worth a stop!

Gravy. Buy this and pour it on your sandwich. $6, but worth every penny.

Wow. My husband suggested we try this place while in town. We shared a salty BAYB Daddy with a side of gravy. It was fantastic! I got it to go because we had the pup in the car. Ate it right there in the parking lot like a couple of heathens!

Long story short, I ordered one banana bungalow waffle ($12, really?) for myself. The guy in front of me in line ordered a total of 5 waffles for himself and his family. The girl taking orders told him the wait would be about 35 minutes, so I figured mine would take about the same time. Spoiler: it did not. It took just over an hour. And to top it off, the waffle didn't live up to my expectations. The edges were burned and something about the cream tasted off, like it wasn't as fresh. Before they open again next spring, they really need to figure out a more efficient way to run their business. Hire more people, get more equipment, allow people to call/text in orders, something. Maybe even limit how many waffles one person can order because I would have had mine sooner if not for the people who ordered 10 waffles for their party. Because waiting over an hour for ONE waffle when that's all you make is ridiculous.

Stopped by their food truck to try their waffles...they were really tasty, but I did not appreciate…read morethe attitude of the girl helping me out. I could be wrong, but felt as if she was giving me an unwelcoming look. Right off the bat, they told me 'We're out of whipped cream!' And some other toppings... While I get that they were out of some stuff, they didn't have to blurt that out first thing. I almost didn't end up ordering anything because of that. That really soured my experience. I ended up getting a plain waffle for $6 with nothing on it. With toppings it would've been either $11 to $13. Where do they get off charging that amount of money for a waffle with a few toppings??? You could get all of those ingredients for under $10 at the grocery store and make a good 20 plus waffles for that price. I suggest lowering your prices. Your waffles are good...but why charge so much for them?
