The staff were incredibly friendly, greeting us with smiles on a busy Saturday morning. Super friendly staff, great prices, and out of this world delicious pastries and breads. This is their second location I'm trying and both of them are the same. This time I had their lobster claws which like their lake George location heavenly. Only true bakers know how to make these pastries and they do a job like none I've ever tasted before. Their cup cakes were a home run for the kids. I'd say they were demolished in 2 mins flat. I will be frequenting this baker quite often. Last night we had friends visit us that we haven't seen since before the pandemic started. We planned a socially distant dinner in our backyard since we have all been pretty much living like hermits. They brought a box of assorted cakes and pastries from Lake George baking Company. I'll admit, I've never heard of this place before. We made our dessert selections and I had a slice of chocolate cake. An entire slice of chocolate cake. The whole thing. I couldn't stop myself. Perfectly rich, decadent and sweet without a hint of dryness in the cake. I haven't had a slice of cake in a really long time and this was worth every calorie. The eclair got rave reviews as did the brownie and the Napoleon. I tasted the cannoli and it was spot on. There are plenty of leftovers, so I will have a chance to taste a few more things this weekend. Everything was beautifully baked and attractive to look at. We ordered a $60 chocolate multi-layer cake. This is what we got when we cut into it 2 nights ago. OK, we all make mistakes. So I called the following day and was told they'd call us back. Nothing, so I called again this morning. No apologies, but I was told they'd give us a $20 gift card, and that I could get a replacement cake next week, but we'd need to pay half price. So their mistake that they didn't apologize for, yet I have to pay extra to get it done right. I asked to speak to the owner/manager, Debbie Alberino, who yelled at me for about 10 seconds, told me never to come back to her store, then hung up without giving me a chance to speak. My son loves their cakes more than anything. But I'm amazed with this type of customer support that this place has been in business for as long as they have. We were up in Bolton Landing but we needed a cake for my son's bday. I called but no one picked up for two days. Finally I called the villages location and they explained the Queensbury location was closed on Monday and Tuesday. The worker placed order for me on a Tuesday evening to pick up on Wednesday at Queensbury. We went for chocolate cake with the famous fudge filing. Totally delicious. As someone who's from Long Island there is definitely lots of bakeries who don't stack up to this. Smallish storefront but with a delightful staff and perfectly baked pastries made with love. Mind you I am a regular customer that pops in for pastries often. I've also ordered custom cakes in advance so I am aware of how good they really are. I ordered a chocolate raspberry filled vanilla buttercream cake and a cannoli cake both 8 inches with a request for holiday decor on them in addition to a dozen mini cannolis all for Christmas Eve pick up totaling to about $130 or so. I'm given a pick up time window for the day of pick up. Holidays are stressful enough and I do not live in Queensbury but I am a loyal and repeat customer so thus I think that this will be seamless. I send my daughter to get the goods and she is with an out of town friend and they are there waiting for over an hour for my baked goods. Understandably things happen but it was never brought to my attention to call before showing up! Especially when you are told of your pickup time window!! They were not very apologetic and to boot we live about a half hours drive away. The kicker is when we open the boxes after dinner on Christmas Day and we're underwhelmed by an unadorned cannoli cake all in plain white frosting without any holiday anything on the cake. Also the cake clearly had a chai tea flavor and no chocolate chips whatsoever which is what we are accustomed to in a cannoli cake filling. My family is from downstate so you can't say we don't know good cake. We order from Carlos Bakery, Vaniero's, Mrs. Londons etc so we are very familiar with excellent baked goods. Needless to say, if I am spending a good amount and got a callback confirming cake details there should be no error. Very very disappointing indeed and I expected better customer service instead of the wrong cake. One doesn't drive back to return cake from that distance and twas not what I wanted for Christmas. Unfortunate that I read other posted reviews after the one that I am posting and it seems that there is a lack of attention to customer service and that the owners/manager is indifferent and unkind. This location has a standard selection of baked goods, cakes, cookies, and pastries, though not as extensive as the Lake George location. I really enjoy the treats from LGBC and I would usually stop at the Lake George location on my trips. This store had plenty of packaged fudge fancy cookies. The good thing about this location is ample free parking. I picked up a napoleon ($3.50) which is one of my favorite desserts, is layered with a pastry sheets, creamy sweet filling and sweet frosting on top. And a frosted brownie ($2) too. While the baked goods here are five stars, the customer service here was not great one star. It seemed like person at the counter didn't care to be here. She rang up my purchases up to $5.50. Very disappointing. Nothing is made fresh here, small selection of goods, staff had little knowledge of the products they we're selling, didn't even have canolis, but they did have a tiramisu which was surprising until I realized it was made with sponge instead of lady fingers, so not really a genuine tiramisu. Also the hours are very short, they close 5 or 6 pm, so if you work and want to pick something up on the way home, good luck. All in all, I have to agree with another comment I read here, and say that you are better off going to price chopper. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I tried to like it....but I threw away half an eclair! And a piece of carrot cake, and a black and white cookie! I do not think I have ever left a crumb of an eclair uneaten,,,ditto for carrot cake. I tried about 1/2 a dozen different pastries and nothing tasted fresh baked. I have sucked the eclair paper from Walmart, who does a pretty good job of making them (and donuts) daily. I can't imagine making a return trip. First time I came in was a spur of the moment thing. Ive been looking everywhere(in new hampshire, vermont, mass) could never find Italian Rainbow Cookies. Its my husbands favorite as his grandfather used to make them. Figured itd be a great early Chanukah gift for him and I was super surprised when they said they make them! I ordered a pound of the cookies and surprised my husband with them who absolutely loved them. Their flourless cake is also my true favorite as well! I am from out of town, but I helped deliver the cake to my friend's reception. The cake was not ready the day before the reception (at the time when we were told that it would be ready), so we went back the following morning at the time which the employee of this company gave us. The cake was still not ready. We were told that some of the decorations had been ruined during transport. We came back later in the afternoon for a third time in an attempt to pick up the cake before the reception that evening. However, it was very clear that any attempts to fix the cake after the disruptions in transport were done hastily and without care. The frosting was blotchy; the flowers were not even fully attached to the cake; and the writing was crooked. We were told that we would receive a $50 refund, which we thought unreasonable given the trouble we had been through. We called the owner hoping to receive more of a refund, but he proceeded to claim the cake was "just fine" and embarked on a profanity-laced rant before hanging up the phone on us. The employees inside said that this type of behavior was indeed typical customer service from the owner, and the company had been giving out refunds all day. The cake was delicious but in no way, shape, or form worth the price or the abhorrent customer service. read more

To say I am highly disappointed and annoyed by this bakery is an understatement. I called to place a custom cake order 4 days before my sisters 50th birthday party. I asked if they could fulfill the order knowing it was only 4 days notice. I was assured by Nina after conferring with a baker that it would be no problem. I was told to email a picture of what I was looking for and a baker would get back to me that day. Well needless to say I called multiple times that day and never heard back. I then called the following day to be told again by Nina that they were extremely busy and no one checked the iPad for my email. She assured me the baker would be coming in at 12 and would get back to me immediately with a price and design. At 1;30 I called AGAIN where I was told by Nina AGAIN that unfortunately the "baker" Just arrived and was late so no she will look at it and get back to me. 15 min later I get a call from a young girl NOT the baker who tells me the bakers are unable to fulfill this order bc they need more than 2 days notice. When I told her I had contacted them 4 days ago her response was yea well we're really busy. I was absolutely stunned by this response. I told her they clearly are not interested in keeping customers or good business practices and hung up. This cake would have easily been a $200 order if not more. I will NEVER visit this bakery and would highly recommend you steer clear as they treat their customers horribly. read more

I wanted a special cake for my brother's 50th birthday party. My friend had hers done here for her baby shower. She had white cake with raspberry filling and whipped cream frosting. I usually don't care about cake but it was just SO GOOD. Which is what led me to the Lake George Baking Company for the birthday cake. I ordered the chocolate with custard filling and buttercream frosting. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. They did an amazing job and it was very affordable. I can't recommend them enough.
