5-6 hours on the bus to and from work or school is crazy! Rude bus drivers, bad people at the office, routes are late busses don't wait so you will be sitting at a transfer station for a half hour for the next bus. There are 2 bus stops on each side of the road in front of building. The grounds are well kept, and parking lot clean. The different transit stations have a parking area - allowing for the capability of park and rides! Franklin my dear, I don't give a damn. Richland has a good transit system that will also connect you to other parts of the Tri Cities and does a good job. It's nice and cheap, efficient, and honestly hardly anyone is ever on it, but it's still an important and appreciable part of the cities. read more

My boyfriend lost his phone on a bus route 1 on Monday evening. The next day he spoke to a 1 bus driver, they told him they found it and they either had turned it into lost and found or they were going to. He has called and went in person to Three Rivers Transit and he continually gets told it's not there. When he tells them he confirmed with a bus driver it was found, they say nothing. Now, I understand you're not responsible for the loss or theft from a bus, but what if it's one of your drivers or possibly someone that works in the lost and found area? I'm very concerned and quite frankly disappointed how this has been handled. How does a driver confirm something is found and it's not where it's supposed to be? read more

Oh, how I wish I could use BFT more often. My commute is about 15 miles outside of town among the sand and tumbleweeds. So sadly, I don't get to use our mass transit system as much as I'd like. However for jaunts around town, BFT is a decent option. I've used it to get to the to/from the airport, over to Kennewick, and to other local options. The operating hours are a bit limited (only till about 7pm during weeknights, and there is not service on Sundays. I don't know if its still the case, but on some Saturdays they have free service. If only the US could be more Euro-esque and have a better mass transit options. I'd say BFT is a decent attempt--I just wish more people would utilize it---guess we need some higher gas prices! read more

Ben Franklin Transit It's grade is F- If you sign up for Dial A Ride, and your a Double Amputation in wheel chair, they tell you , you have Expections, they don't pick you up at Point A and to door at point B They tell you, it only Snows or Rains to pick you up , so you have to roll to a bus stop and wait and wait and wait Bus pulls up and loads anyone with feet, there is a Wheel chair Decal, on bus, that should allow, but No, drivers asks for your location , then calls dispatch to get a Dial a Ride to you, but that window could be 15 minutes or an hour If you go to a store, they won't drop you off at Front Door, they drop you off at another bus stop, then you have to roll all the way up , across parking lot in chair, with nobody helping, The when you are done shopping, you have to carry all the bags and roll across the parking lot back to bus stop and wait for bus again and tell driver where I need to go, so another 30-60 minutes to have Dial A Ride arrive. If your in a wheel chair, they should accept you any day you need to go to This I feel is a fraud on ADA, with amputation and chair. read more

I have to say I am absolutely appalled at the customer service of the BFT bus drivers! I saw this poor older lady hurrying to the knight st. Transfer station; not able to reach it she crossed the street to catch the bus.. whom of which was now driving towards her. Waving down the bus clearly... this bus driver whom ever the 225 was at 8pm drive right past her.. didn't slow down or acknowledge her.. she's now sitting at the station for 30 min when all it would have taken you guys was a stop for some poor lady... so sad this is what public transport has come to... read more

Supervisors pick and choose who to be nice to. They were nice to me but extremely transphobic to my coworker. Highly don't recommend.

This much needed service in the area is quite good. I will say that being from the Seattle area, I notice the lack of scheduled buses going different places and they are certainly not very frequent. many runs only go twice an hour. Everythign brings on einto the city center.. a big flattop parking lot 3 blocks from a post office. 2 bolcks from a coffee place and an ice cream place. The blocks are long, flat and dull with nothign to look at but the concrete and the back of an old cement Rite-Aid. But it is a system which many use. The drivers know their riders and often are every kind to them. read more

I really like the Ben Franklin Transit system as it helps me get around the Tri-Cities through all types of weather (especially with all the snow we're currently having), I also like that the last bus run is at 8pm instead of 6pm a year and a half ago, I especially like that the buses run every 15 minutes on Clearwater Avenue, some of the drivers make the bus riding experience a lot of fun and they're also friendly, approachable yet professional, it's definitely a cheaper alternative to driving. read more

This is a pathetic excuse for a bus service for a community this big. Why don't the drivers show respect for the rules of the road? Why does it take up to two hours and three transfers to get from point A to point B? Where are the benches for passengers to wait for buses? Why do people have to stand next to a light pole like some lady of the night instead of having a covered bench to sit on while they wait? Other communities with fewer people have these basic amenities for their riders; why not Ben Franklin Transit? The community I lived in before this one had a combined population of about 100,000. Kennewick, Richland, Pasco has almost three times that, yet the bus service is substandard at best. In my former community, people from all walks of life road the bus because they were on time, clean, went to work places, and there was a decent place to sit down and wait for the bus. You don't like the traffic congestion on GWW and other parts of town? TELL the bus company to make their bus routes more timely and useful, and their ridership will increase. read more

I love riding the transit. The price is fair and the buses always come in a timely manner. I can get pretty much everywhere I need to go for $22.00 a month. If I had a car it would cost at least ten times that much. The people at 3 rivers customer service are always friendly and helpful and the man there with the glasses is really nice to look at. sometimes I pretended I need to go to the bathroomo r need help with routes just to talk to him.
