Since I had a backup pair to wear I decided to wait, plus I figured they must be doing good work if they're so busy. I went back into his shop on Monday and he explained what the coins were worth (at market rate). He was also very upfront and transparent on his fees (which ended up being around 10%). Everything seemed reasonable so I proceeded forward. He wrote me a check and kept the silver and the transaction was complete. It couldn't have been any easier. The ring had a lot of problems e.g. it was mounted incorrectly and the diamonds fell out. We returned the ring and I was of course heart broken. After some research we came across Goldsmith Jewelers. When we walked in we were greeted by Tina and Kurt. They were both super friendly and VERY helpful. They explained the diamond ratings and certifying diamond bodies. The information that they provided and Kurt's certifications, AGS and GIA, made us feel at ease and confident that they could create a beautiful ring. We asked if they had Marquise diamonds or if they could bring some in for us to look at. After a few days they called us to look at two diamonds and different settings. The diamonds and settings we're so beautiful it took me awhile to decide what I wanted. I eventually decided to get a plain halo setting. The ring took three weeks to create but it was well worth the wait. I'm obsessed and haven't stopped staring at it since we picked it up.
