I stopped into Diamonds Direct because I saw it had just opened and I am newly engaged. Lucky me! When you walk into the store, you go through the front door which takes you into a small lobby with comfortable seat and a large glass window. The area looked similar to a bank which is for security but it made me feel like I was a VIP when I entered the second set of doors. Beyond the second set of doors is the show room. The second you are inside they offer drinks (beer, too).The room is almost overwhelming with the amount of sparkle available. The cases are lit perfectly and there is a lot of space to move around inside. There is an upscale, comfortable seating area in the middle of the room and I also noticed that they have a special room for kids to play in during the visit. I was in town from Charlotte NC to visit my family in Cleveland so my mom and I stopped by to scope out some wedding bands for my upcoming wedding! Renee was there to greet us and was absolutely wonderful from the second we walked in, to now, weeks later with her follow ups. I tried on a lot of bands, they were gorgeous but weren't exactly right with my engagement ring. I pulled up a screenshot that I took of the Diamonds Direct Instagram stories from a month and a half prior to my visit of a band I loved. This ring was an eternity band, but wanting a half or 3/4 band, Renee got on the phone with the designer immediately to figure it out what we could do. I was excited to see what they had, I was looking for a replacement for my wedding ring. All the stones in the engagement rings are CZ so every ring looks the same. Same color same sparkle over and over and over. Zero personality, zero wow factor. The Only real diamonds are in the front case, large carat and full of black dots. 6 figure prices. If you can get past the monotony of the CZ effect, If you like a CZ ring setting, they will bring out the real diamonds and they hold it over the pre-made CZ ring. If you like that then they will take your diamond and ship it to New York to have it placed in a setTing and then send it back to the store in a few weeks. It not how I want to buy a ring. I like to choose my stone first, So not a store for me. Some people were nice, our sales lady made me feel rushed and kept asking "what do you like? What do you like? ". My fiancé and I had shopped around at a variety of places in search for THE engagement ring I had always wanted. I had previously sold jewelry, so I was that difficult customer- had scoured across many ideas. We were paired up with Allison- one of their diamond experts. I had saved up some pictures and ideas of what I wanted, but had had the worst time finding in person. The second ring she gave me to try on was the winner! My anxiety was alleviated knowing she could perfectly find what I was looking for so quickly. Next was finding the diamond to put in the middle- a job for my fiancé without my presence. My fiancé's grandfather was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer the next day- and Allison was able to get this ring done in a pinch so he could propose while papa could still make it to witness. The ring I chose had an awkward basket for the center stone, and make anything flush really difficult. I brought a bunch of jewelry my grandmother left me when she died. Allison was able to diamond test one ring she left me, and we turned it into this beautiful wedding band for the ages! This took a lot of her and I going back and forth with ideas and communication- but I could not be more thrilled with the fairytale wedding set I have (especially that our wedding is so affected by Covid). They had a wide selection of jewelry and no pressure sales. They have a comfortable seating area in the middle of the store and offer customers beverages which is nice. There was an earring sale about 2 weeks before I went into the store to buy a pair I had seen before the holiday season and they honored the discount still for me, which was much appreciated.
