He recommended another bigger outfit come in and bid to replace...everything. Hard to hear, but after seeing what he fixed the past 3 months and more pvc would burst as we fixed cracked spots i started making calls. I had 5 companies i reached out to. got 2 bids one day, then Sal was the 3rd on next day , with 2 more after him who both never showed. Sal wasnt the cheapest, nor the most expensive. What won was 1) he is licensed. So many landscapers are not. That is worth the job, quality, piece of mind. 2) I brought up high water pressure issues with our area/house to not only our regular guy , but the 1st to bidders who both said, its not water pressure, its your guy not knowing how to use or fix pvc properly (but my main guy has been w/us for 15 years+ and has done break fix over the years, no issues) Sal came and in immediately agreed its pvc/pressure. We hired Sal after the other 2 no showed. He initially said 5-10 days but was done in 2.5. His crew started at 7 and was done at noon. Fantastic work. He even redid my control box after the bid/estimate (no charge) and pointed out how to run everything, he labeled all our valves /zones. Incredible work in the hottest days we have had in Phoenix. We already have another much smaller job getting a quote. All his work is warrantied!!

We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). Jake was easy to work with, easy to reach, and provided guidance along the way. When other companies were slow or difficult to reach with questions (e.g. paver sizes and pricing), Jake would have an answer in minutes. His business partner was also hands-on and helped with new electrical in the backyard as well. The only thing that wasn't as expected was that they actually finished early. Highly recommend.
