Despite being located in the shadow of Bend's alpha dog brewery, Deschutes, Bend Brewing does a modestly remarkable job of adding a low-key alternative to the brew scene, for which the city is becoming justly famous. You don't see BBC making the taps in Portland, which other Bend-based breweries are starting to do, like Cascade Lakes or Worthy Brewing. Maybe they don't need to. Maybe they are content with their beers, their menu, and aren't interested in expansion the way others appear to be. It doesn't really matter because they've a following, and I am a part of that. Their beers are worth stopping for, and they've some strong ones too. Their food is consistently good. And in the summer, BBC is right next to the river, something few others can claim, and making their outside seating coveted. The facilities are awkwardly shaped. Some sort of renovation or expansion would do them wonders, as the area near the bar gets uncomfortably crowded at times. But no place is perfect in this regard. For what this is worth, I would rank Bend Brewing as one of the more family friendly brewing joints in the community. In all respects, BBC is respectable. read more

Came here on a Saturday night, maybe an hour before they closed. We sat at the bar and got a sampler of all of the beers. For such a small brewery, there was actually a pretty good selection of beers. All were good. Our favorite was the Outback X. The bartender was very friendly and even gave us some recommendations on where to snowshoe in the morning. He mapped out some falls with driving directions, and gave us an idea of where to rent gear if we decided to x-country ski. We ended up purchasing a 64 oz. hydroflask and filled it with Outback X, which was quite spendy, but totally worth it! Never tried the food, but the experience was excellent as well as the beers and the service. One of our favorite breweries in Bend. read more

We decided to check this place out because we took on the challenge of completing the Bend Ale Trail while in town. I was a little disappointed when we came in because it was advertised as a spot where you can sit on the patio and see the Deschutes River. When we arrived we could barely see the river through the trees. The patio is a decent ways away from the river and you can only see a little bit of it. We decided to try their tasting flight and that baby was huge! There were 10 tastings on that flight! I loved the variety but I didn't fall in love with any of their beer. We got an order of fries to share and those were amazing! They have a really great texture to them that make them taste sooooo good! We were able to take a small tour of their brewery and I think its really cool how they brew all their beer in that restaurant and all the beer they brew is for the restaurant. They don't distribute their beer. The service was great and I loved the variety of beer they provided. I'm giving them three stars because I wouldn't buy any of their beer and they are a Brewing Company. I would like to go back and try some of their food because the food we saw looked pretty good! read more

What great beer! I had Ching Ching and it was AMAZING! Unlike any other beer I've ever had, it's infused with pomegranate and hibiscus, but tastes more like grapefruit and without any flowery flavors. It is tart and magical. Service was excellent too - what a find! read more

Ching Ching Sour Cherry Ale. It is the most unique beer I've ever had. Its refreshing and makes your mouth pucker at the same time. Its won several awards for a reason. I had no idea sour ales was a thing until we stopped here while attempting to complete the Bend Ale Trail. read more

It's OK, one of the older breweries in Bend. The Ching Ching sour ale is one either popular seasonal that everyone loves. The food here is not the best, stay away from the Nachos unless you like expensive chips and salsa(which is also on the menu). Instead do something healthy for you the soup and salad option is cheap and good. All the other food is way over priced! Locals night is Tuesday and come by at 4-6 Mon-Fri for 1/2 price apps. read more

We were here in July with our dog and really loved this location. We got appetizers and sat outside on the dog friendly patio to enjoy those and our beer flight. We then sat out on the lawn for a while (with our dog trying to jump into the river which was safely behind a fence) and enjoyed beer from the cart outside. read more

After some initial confusion at the door, our party of four adults and two young children, (4 & 6), were seated in the room at the front. We were happy to take this room, even though it didn't have a view of the river, because our kids were very hungry. Based on other reviews, we were expecting to have to wait. We also thought we might even be forgotten as we were the only people in the room, and the place was hopping! We were SO wrong! Our waiter went WAY above and beyond what anyone might have expected. Food arrived promptly and the calamari with a honey-mustard sauce was yummy. Our children had some special requests at various times and all were met and exceeded. They were so well taken care of that all the adults were able to really enjoy the truly GREAT beer! To top it all off, our waiter even found out where we might be able to best view the 4th of July fireworks. The only reason we couldn't give Bend Brewing Company a five star rating is the initial confusion and that 3 of the 6 of us felt the place was over air-conditioned. After being seated, the service and beer, however, rocked! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a family-friendly pub. We hope to stop by again on our next visit to Bend. read more

While visiting Redmond, a friend of ours recommended Bend Brewing for lunch. He said it had great beer and great food. Since we were going to shop at Old Mill District (2 miles away) we decided to go for it. The environment was exactly what we were looking for. Brew pub and not bar feel. Our server was friendly, efficient, and assisted my husband when he couldn't decide before the two choices he'd narrowed it down to. Brats? Or bacon mac & cheese? Yum. He decided on the bacon mac and it didn't dissapoint. I got a basil pesto turkey club that was amazing. Additionally, for someone who eats gluten free (like myself) there werw at least 10 options. The beer was really good too. You can get a flight sampler of all 10 beers, but you might want to share. They're easily 4oz samples. really wanted to try a salad as they make all their dressings from scratch. Guess we'll have to go back! ;) read more

We came in on a Saturday evening (around 8:00), and we were told to sit wherever by the bartender. After choosing a seat, we were ignored by three different staff members before we finally caught somebody's eye. When our server came to our table she apologized and was fairly helpful. We were very impressed with the beers. I had a flight of 7 and enjoyed all of them, while my wife had the bourbon barrel agreed Right Said Red. The food was solid pub fare but nothing to get too excited over. They were out of fish, so we couldn't try the fish and chips. Our waitress was mostly absent, but was helpful when she was around, and the bartender picked up her slack very well. Overall, a decent place for pub food, but the beers really shine here. read more

We stopped in after a day of exploring Bend and listening to music in Drake park. I cant give them 5 stars because the service was less than par. The building is super cool sitting on the water with a outdoor yard space for families, dogs, and fun. There large patio with plenty of seating and awesome beer. The name holds a lot of weight with it. We went in for dinner and some local brews. The place was jamming when we arrived, but we quickly realized that as because of the SF Giants game on. Once it ended, the place was crickets, even on a Saturday night. I'm not typically critical but....the beer was fine, maybe even a little flat. The food was pretty poor. We were there about 8:30pm and the only menu was "late night bar food". The Chile Verde burrito low on flavor. The service was poor overall. There's a ton of great stuff in this town, I'd advise to go elsewhere for both drinks and eats. read more

Went here for lunch on my birthday while doing the ale trail. Definitely a good little spot with good door for vegans :-) had a Gary which is a hilarious name for a veggie sandwich. Beer was good but nothing to write home about. I'll tell you what I would write home about though is the vegan cheesecake. Holy Hannah it was good. Located in downtown bend (I think!) this brewery is really nice. Beer garden backs up to the river so it always has a nice breeze. Got the flight and tried more sours than hops. Got the fish tacos and friends got the fish n chips. Both were good but bland. So for me I would stick to the beer which was fantastic! Loved the Spurs and the lower IBU beers! read more

Worst experience in Bend and almost at the top of most horrific restaurant experiences ever! The one star is for the view of the river. After waiting 20 minutes for a seat (which was the estimate at check in so no problem there) in 90 degree heat in full sun, a random group showed up and self seated themselves in the full service area. Another woman then did the same. Since no one at the restaurant altered the situation proactively, I notified the host. Somehow the manager then got involved and the woman went to check in. The group remained seated and got served before us. I then ordered an entree (which was pretty blah) with several minor modifications, most of which were not made. I told the server about this so the kitchen could be made aware (not because I was requesting it be fixed - too weary at that point and I didn't see the server between food drop off and bill drop off - but so this didn't happen to someone else). The response from the server was that they entered the order correctly. Needless to say I would never return. read more

Yummy food--and lots of it--for relatively cheap. We started out with some fried zucchini coins that were quite tasty especially when dipped in the house ranch dressing they gave us. Beware, however; two people is too few to finish off this meal of an appetizer. We also tried a few beers - the Hefe, Golden Ale, and Dark Lager. All received our stamp of approval. We both had sandwiches for dinner. I had the Lava Butte Turkey Melt which was good, but I felt like the smoky taste was a tad strong. My boyfriend opted for a burger which he also enjoyed.
