I called the vet and asked to speak with the manager. The receptionist said she was busy, so I left a message with the following information. I have been happy with them over the 3.5 years I have been taking my dog there. However, the last time I was in, I was unhappy in a few ways. I had told the person with whom I spoke to make the appointment that I didn't want to come in several times a year, so could we please do the annual exam and all the vaccines my dog needed at the same time? But when I got there, the tech said the appointment was for vaccines only. I was frustrated, but okay, do the two vaccines. The real pisser for me was that the tech never asked me if I wanted the 1- or 3-year rabies shot. They had given my dog the 3-year vaccine 3 years ago and I always get the 3-year one, so I was not happy bc, again, that means I have to take my dog in MORE times than I want to! Isn't it basic to ask which version of a vaccine you want OR default to the version they last gave her? Also, they kept me waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time. No big deal, but no one else was in the waiting room and no one from the business came out to tell me they were running late. I did ask past way through my wait and was not given accurate information, nor any explanation as to why they were not keeping the appointment time they had set. So, they missed on common courtesy. Lastly, the manager never called me back! Does this business even care???? I'd like to hear from the owner, but doubt I will. I'll be looking for a new vet. read more

We had been visiting Bend for two days, and my blind senior dog got sick with bloody diarrhea. My friend in town recommended this clinic to us, and when they heard what was happening, they were able to squeeze us into their busy day. They called us the next day to check in us, and Bailey was improving. When she went back to her original kibble a week later, though, she started vomiting, so I called the clinic again, and we made a plan to put her back on the special diet and bring her back in if she hadn't improved. She did improve so we canceled the second visit. A month later and after just finishing the cans of special diet, we think she is on the mend. We have a follow up at home in two days, but we are so appreciative of the vets and staff here who helped us. read more

We have been taking our 2 dogs and cat here for 5 years. I adore some of their employees but quality of care is not great and has declined as they seem to turn over DVMs and staff quickly. We took our 10 year old dog in yesterday morning first thing for surgery. I purposely made a morning appointment to avoid stress for him. When we called around 1 pm, he had not been operated on yet. So our little man hung out in a stressful kennel most of the day and no one called us to reschedule or let us know. Needless to say we went to pick him up before he got surgery and we are scheduled with a new clinic for all 3 of our pets. Incredibly disappointing care and the response we got is this is normal. Not sure why I was ten minutes early for a secondary follow-up shot for my dog, and was usurped for a "dumpster kitten" which was brought in minutes after my arrival. I waited; even took my dog out for a walk on the premises, but ten minutes later when I came back in, the kitten was still being seen. Granted, they only had one technician that Sunday. I get it; the dumpster kitten is really important... but the appointment I responsibly kept was going to take less than five minutes of the technicians time; it was just an injection - however, it was a time sensitive appointment; it's why we made the appointment. They wanted me to come back by 4pm at the end of their day... on a Sunday. What? we don't have other plans? Maybe I should look elsewhere for a Vet who honors their client/patient. read more

I am honestly more disappointed to write this review than I can express. I moved here from an area where there is ONE exotic veterinarian at an emergency vet and none others within a 1 hour drive. So when we moved here and my first call was a clinic with not one but TWO exotic vets available to care for my 11 year old mini Rex bunny I WAS BEYOND THRILLED!! Our first visit went fine aside from a very long time seated in the waiting room (granted the remodel...) on either side of our appointment. We returned today after my rabbit came down with an eye infection. I called ahead and spoke to Sarah the receptionist who told me they only had 9:00AM and 10:00AM available, she agreed I could have someone drop my pet off for the 9:00 appointment and pick him up around 10:00. The reality was 9-1:45 that my 11 year old sick rabbit was stuck there surrounded by things a rabbit would consider stressful.... dogs... cat... noise... and my lovely family member was never called or communicated with (despite leaving all that info on their annoying surprise paper work) I was surprised to learn upon my family member dropping off my rabbit that there was a ton of paper work I COULD HAVE completed myself ahead of time... and an $18 FEEEEEEE for dropping off my rabbit... surprise surprise... and surprise again my rabbit's doctor wasn't even there... and that he was receiving care from a doctor I had never met before... ummm so great... happy to know after scheduling and nearly 5 hours of waiting that at least it is an exotic animal vet. Oh. And then when I try to close my bill over the phone the male receptionist (who didn't gave his name????) was extremely rude, didn't even know what he was charging me for, Andreas to place me on hold to clarify with the doctor, he couldn't even take a card number accurately over the phone because of what I can only guess is the fault of his arrogance and intelligence level??? So... bottom line... don't take your precious 11 year old rabbit to this clinic where they won't be taken care of and where you will be left in limbo and not communicated with for hours and hours and hours on end. read more

This place sucks and everyone is an asshole that doesn't care about pets whatsoever and will charge you up the ass for something that doesn't work. Who the fuck puts a cast on a cat? Proceeds to not give a cone or admit that they did faulty work when the cast was ripped off within hours. They tried to charge us an additional $200 after paying $500 for a splint that didn't do shit. The owner has his head up somebody's wazoo and doesn't understand the concept of waiving a visitation fee for a follow up regarding their own screw up. So I have had several bad experiences with this vet office. The first experience started back to when my mom took her dog in for a ear infection. After she took him in for an ear infection, he had developed kennel cough from that bet office. So she had to take him back in to the vet office to get treat from the kennel cough that he had caught from their practice and she was charged... this is something that they should have paid for knowing that he caught it from their practice. Now for my personal experience. I recently took my Boston terrier in for an ear infection that he had developed. They were able to treat him and proscribed him some ear cleaner, ointment and some seasonal allergy medication. When I was getting ready to check out, they told me that my total was $171 and some change. So I swipe my card and several hours later, I looked at my bank statement and realize I was actually charged $271. I decided to call them and let them know about my frustration and they were not wanting to help with my situation of being told the incorrect amount that I was charged. Several weeks pass by and my Boston terrier still had an ear infection. So I decided to take them into a different vet office (which I would recommend any day). They were able to diagnose that he still had an ear infection and that he would need to be put under to extract the significant amount of earwax that has built up in his left ear. They believe that the was the reason that they ear infection had not gone away. So $264 dollars later my Boston was correctly treated. I had called Bend clinic and let them know of the situation and I asked if I could be reimbursed. As of right now, they don't seem to want to work with me yet again. Had they correctly taken care of this issue the first time I wouldn't have had to take my boy into another vet office to be treated. Not to mention the doctor tried to blame me for not taking him back in for a check up. She also tried to say that the ear wax build up happened during the several weeks that he was being treated (this was obviously not the case). Upon further conversation with the doctor the ear wax was there during the time that my Boston was seen. So had they correctly put him under and extracted the build up of earwax the first time, I wouldn't not had to take him into another vet office to be correctly taken care of. Based on my experiences I would not recommend going to this vet office. Until they are able to make this right my opinion will not change of this vet office. They are overpriced and they do not care if they incorrectly diagnosed your dog or cat all they care about is money. read more

We take both our pups here and have been really pleased with the quality of care! The doctors and techs who we have seen have all been wonderful with us and our babies. Front office staff is great too. Have never had to wait more than a minute or two in the waiting area, and they are super accessible for scheduling prompt appointments for any issues, answering questions, and refilling meds, etc. I'm a doc (for humans) and I just really appreciate all the hard work that these docs (for non-humans) do every day! This was my first visit to veterinary since recently moving to Bend. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed. The tech really love animals an they took care of my 13 year old cat in a professional an loving manner. The Vet came in an did her job an took the time to talk with me about my pet. It was a routine/annual exam but I was comfortable while they examined my pet. The place is undergoing a remodel, so the front is a little messy. I don't appreciate a vet that approaches me with nutritional advice and presses hard for me to go in "Science diet" or "Hills".... I already know that those companies pay off vets. They offer to purchase the expensive equipment they need and help them financially as they promote their food. How do I know this? I used to be a vet myself but left the industry because of how shady it is. I want to help animals but I'm not going to lie to someone in exchange for money. We all sat on the floor and had a floor party to get my pup more comfortable and gain a little trust with the doc. We were traveling and our dog got really sick. It's hard to find a vet who will take you quickly unless your dog is actually bleeding to death or has some similar ailment. Bend Veterinary took our little guy in within a few hours, treated him, and us, with kindness and gave him a thorough exam. The prescribed medication and asked that we bring them a fecal sample when we could. We were leaving in just a couple of days, but he improved enough to get them the sample. They called and checked on him even after we left town and got us the results. They continued to stay in touch until we told them he was completely recovered. You can't ask for more than that! read more

We took our elderly corgi to BVC today for an urgent consult as we were not able to get in with our regular vet or a mobile vet service. Words can't express how grateful I am for the team at BVC. The receptionist got us in immediately despite the clinic being very busy. The vet tech was so kind, thorough, and treated us like our dog had been cared for by them for years. Dr. Moss was exceptional, he was also very thorough, listened to our concerns and showed genuine tenderness and was so gentle. Once all the labs and X-rays were complete he took the time to show us all the images and explained the condition and our options. Every moment of the experience was exceptional! Came back to get my dog, told them I was here to pick up my dog, while i waited, 3 others came and left, They were there for the same reason, to get their dog. 1/2 hour later, still waiting for my dog. Rude staff. Also had my dogs teeth cleaned, watch out, your healthy dog might come away with dentures. Friendly staff Clean facility Honest Cons: None to report Full review: Our doctor of choice is Dr. Lauren Stayer because she is so caring, thorough, has a great bedside manner, honest and very helpful. We have two cats, one of which is quite a character, and he always seems to make Dr. Stayer laugh with whatever new "weirdness" he is practicing. We always feel so comfortable with Dr. Stayer and know that our cats are in good hands. We trust her judgement and count on her to guide us in the right direction for the best care for our kitties. Before Dr. Stayer, we saw Dr. Maas and he saw us through a very tough time. We had just adopted a 3 month old kitten, and when she was 6 months old, she came down with a strain of FIP. Dr. Maas took care of her through the night, and kept her on observation, but in the end, there wasn't anything we could do further, and we had to put her to sleep. Dr. Maas went above and beyond for us during that time, and even had the whole staff sign a condolence card for our loss. Bend Veterinary as a whole is a great clinic. Always clean, courteous and helpful. They are also very considerate of financials, as far as making sure that they discuss the financial cap for spending, discuss options for decreasing costs, and advising us of coupons available currently; they will even honor coupons if you forget it at home - but make sure to bring it in within the next day or two. I would highly recommend Bend Veterinary Clinic as your vet of choice; particularly Dr. Stayer, as we just adore her. :) read more

I've only ever had bad experiences with bend vet. For one, they got my dogs appointment mixed up so I had to wait a other week to be able to get her in. When I mentioned stuff about her puppy vaccines on the phone the receptionist interrupted me to tell me very INCORRECT information about when puppies need to get their vaccines ( my puppy was about 10 weeks at the time) and every time I call they always have to put me on hold for like 10 mins. I feel they have horrible customer service and have very little knowledge of what they are doing. I did not feel safe trusting my puppy in their hands. I ended up just not going to the next appointment in the end. They are also way overpriced. read more

Also, after taking out pet to the ER vet, we couldn't even get our pet in with our primary vet here, which I thought was the purpose of having a primary vet - to be able to follow up and discuss your pet's health and discuss next steps within a reasonable time frame. read more

I went to Bend Veterinary Clinic for about a year for my cat. The first visit was when he was 4 months old and just acquired. No problems. The second visit was for his first year check up. Since he's an indoor cat with no other animals in the home the Vet said one of the vaccinations was optional. We chose not to get that vaccination. Then I started getting emails telling me my cat needed that vaccine. I spoke with them several times, but kept getting the emails. Finally I decided to go to another vet and notified Bend Veterinary Clinic. I kept getting emails, this time to schedule my cat's 2 year old check up. I called, twice, and finally those emails stopped. Now I am getting emails from a pet food company, telling me I should buy my cat food from Bend Veterinary Clinic. It appears they care more about billing for unnecessary vaccinations and selling food than they do about the animals. In this day and age, to give my email to another company is, at the very least, annoying. Stay away. read more

Stem cell transplant success! My senior dog had a number of health care issues, including arthritis and IBS, both of which greatly improved thanks to the stem cell transplant performed at this clinic. It was a quick and a basically non-invasive procedure. I am so happy with the results! We got to ditch pain meds, I have a much happier pooch all around! I feel very confident that Dr. Maas will always provide my animals with the highest quality care, he has so much expertise and follows up with lab work results quickly. The staff are attentive, warm and friendly. We don't have as many appointments now that my dog's health has improved, but the staff always remembers me when I do come in. My girl would have to be pulled into vets before we found this place. She's so much more relaxed and all the Drs. And associates are so patient and gentle. They have this can of cheese wiz that totally takes all of my dogs focus off any shots or exams they need to do. I wanted to give this place a good rating because I wouldn't have chosen this vet based on other poor reviews. I was recommended this vet by a local while visiting town and they were wonderful. My dog was having stomach issues and they ran a few tests to figure it out. He must have eaten something weird because they didn't find anything. They gave us antibiotics and probiotics to clear it up and he was good as new. I only felt that he was loved and cared for. Please don't be discouraged by negative reviews. read more

I will try to keep this positive!! After a Terrible experience with Blue Sky Vet. Clinic, I ended up at Bend Vet. Clinic quite by chance, AND, It was Wonderful!!!! Dr. Dye was patient, and kind with my doggie who had very infected ears. She listened carefully......my complaint with Blue Sky..............and prescribed far less expensive meds.
