My hubby and I first discovered this place when our car broke down last year (animals got into our engine and chewed some wires!) and we needed AAA to tow it to a nearby AAA authorized shop. Our tow guy brought it over to Bender's and we've been customers ever since. They are very honest mechanics and have told us about what work needed to be done and what didn't. Last week when my husband brought it in for and oil change and tire rotation, he asked about the brakes and they told us to return later on since the brakes were still good. They are always busy so it's better that you call in to make an appointment to bring in your car for regular maintenance. They have very limited parking, and there's not a lot of parking in the street, so be prepared to squeeze into the driveway. read more

They over charge their customers. Watch out for hidden charges..I wouldn't recommend this repair shop to anyone.My cousin took his 2010 Toyota Prius to this place because his vehicle failed his smog inspection and they took an advantage of him and they over charged him for the work and his vehicle was still failing smog inspection due to wrong diagnosis and repairs.We called the state of California on this shop. According to the bureau of automotive repair, repair this is shop is not authorized to perform any emission repairs because they aren't licensed as a Smog repair station. read more

Recently had some exhaust work done and needed a major job performed which the removal of the exhaust was required only to find out the slip shod work that was performed by the other shop. They are always very nice any time I've been in the shop and the work is always done right the first time. 5 star service, I wanted to give 4 stars because their prices are a bit high... but I'll give them the 5 because you're paying for great service. Benders does good work. They're honest, (very) friendly, and will help out any way they can. We've been using them for years through thick and thin. Even when we couldn't afford to use them, they would still offer us tips on where to go for the work we needed done on our fleet of falling apart vehicles. My girlfriend got tired of being screwed over by dealerships and other mechanics so I recommended Benders. She came here, got her car taken care of (not cheap), and appreciated their candidness on the state of her vehicle and what work could be done (but not necessary at the moment as other places may claim). We were new to the area and had trouble finding a reliable shop. My husband's 14 year old car needed some work and we were dreading the cost. Tom was able to fix it at a minimal cost and it's still running great 2 years later. Then the dealership where we had purchased our new car told us we were in need of several major services totaling $700. We went to Tom for a second opinion and he confirmed that most of what they quoted was unnecessary and completed what needed to be done for 1/2 the cost. I always went to a place called Brake Masters in Pomona for an alignment because that's what America's Tire Company would suggest. I went back to America's Tire Company about 7 months after getting a new tires and an alignment and there were large holes and slits throughout all of my tires because the alignment didn't do anything since my cambers were so bad. I was shocked, I drive so far for work everyday and the fact that nothing happen to me is a blessing. The alignment company did not tell me that my cambers needed to be replaced (probably because they were terrible or wanted me to have to come back and get more work done). Brake Masters ended up refunding me for the price of getting new tires since they obviously didn't do their job in identifying the issue when they did my alignment. THEN they tried to recommend that I pay them $700 per side for new rotors (I still have the estimate). I'm definitely not one of those girls who is clueless about cars so I knew that my rotors were not the issue and definitely not worth $700 per side! I normally go to Valley Mercedes for all my mechanic needs and they suggested Bender's for my alignment. So once the new tires were put on, I went to get new camber kits and an alignment. A year and a half later and I am sitting in America's Tire Company today and the employee tells me that my tires wore down perfectly and that he's never seen such a great alignment on a Mercedes. I was able to see what he was talking about and it wore down in the middle on the tire and not on the insides or outsides. He said whoever did my cambers and my alignment did a great job. I knew Benders did great because my tires were definitely lasting longer this time around, but my visit to the tire place was definitely confirmation. Thank you guys so much. I am very picky when it comes to my car, especially because it's a Mercedes and you definitely can't cut corners, so I appreciate it more than you know. read more

I don't leave close to them at all, but I did research the AAA recommended repair shops and picked Bender's. I've taken a Chevy Express van and just this past week my Toyota Tacoma for issues. They resolved the issues and in a very timely manner. Mike is very honest and does no more than is required. It's hard to find shops like this anymore so will continue to go out of my way. In fact, we're taking my GF's 4Runner there for the second time next week for another issue. I pride myself in being a gearhead, but that was in my younger days when cars were simple. Very disappointed today. Let me start by saying I have spent over $7k here this year getting my Mustang rebuilt. Never had an issue. Today I talk to Mike, and ask if "in spirit of Veterans Day, if I could squeeze an oil change out of him" he says yeah and schedules it. So I'm excited because jiffy lube was only offering 25% but they had a 2 hour wait. Meineke was free but everyone was there too. Anyhow, I go and I get my oil changed and get my keys back and I'm on my way. Not. While I'm sitting in. My car about to leave the owner Tom runs out and starts banging on my car saying I didn't pay my bill. So explained I had talked to Mike and he runs I. Screaming for him. Apparently there was a misunderstanding, Mike thought I said "squeeze me in for an oil change". Uh yeah. Okay whatever I'll pay the bill,but I tell Tom I don't have any money I'll have to run home because I thought it was on them. He immediately gets condescending, asking where I live (they have my info on file) and in the rudest way possible say "well your a veteran, I should be able to trust you'll come back right? " that's why I will never come back there ever. Don't question my integrity. Don't treat me like a thief. Especially when you know I've dropped a bunch of money in your shop. Never ever will I go back. After all I've don't for this country, you choose to treat me like that? And I did go back to pay the bill. Because that's who I am. Tom Bender you should be ashamed of yourself for treating a soldier that way. You also lost a great customer, and I will never refer anyone here. PS. $40 for a standard oil change is absolutely ridiculous. I could've went to the dealer for less,and got a 27 point inspection and car wash included. read more

Came in to replace my front coil springs and I can't believed after so many years of coming to this fucking place I was gouge to pay labor only of $360. I won't be coming back to this place. I'm having my wife's car 2005 Honda Pilot coil spring replace by Horizon front and back and it will only cost me $200. Was referred to Benders automotive I have a 1999 VW bettle and it had been acting up, no one was able to fix it, or even tell me what was wrong with it . I took my VW here last week on a Friday and by Tuesday they had the results of the problem. Mike was my mechanic he was super helpful with explaining everything in detail to me he was great.... My VW beetle is happy and running like a champ... I'm super happy they were able to help me because most places do not like to work on Volkswagens and this place was able to fix and resolve the issue...super excited to be driving my bettle again.
