I did a makeup trial for our engagement photo session a few months before the wedding, and Crystal created a natural look that accentuated my best features. Crystal was able to replicate the same look for the wedding. I received many compliments on my makeup in the engagement photos and on my wedding day. Thank you, Crystal! In addition to being a top-notch makeup artist, Crystal was a pleasure to work with -- she was responsive to emails and flexible with scheduling (about a week before the wedding, I realized that it would be better if she could start at 9 am on our wedding day instead of the previously agreed upon 10:30 am, and she was able to accommodate the change). Also, Crystal's good taste in music may not seem particularly relevant in this situation, but the music she streamed during the trial and wedding makeup sessions helped create a cheerful and celebratory mood, which helped me relax. I am hoping that one of my friends will get engaged soon SO that I could recommend Crystal. :)

The day of my wedding, she had extremely poor planning and time management, and decided it was smart to start me, the bride, last. That resulted in me literally being late, with her rushing to finish. The end result was a mess, it was awful. When I texted her photos afterwards politely expressing my disappointment (with trial and wedding photos attached), she did not offer to refund me but instead offered to redo my hair and makeup again for wedding photo retakes - strange, as how I clearly could not retake photos from that day and had no plans to pay tons of money for another post-wedding photo shoot?? I was preparing to tell her how I wanted to change the trial makeup to something more pink, but that morning, Jessie brought up the idea of changes to me first! She suggested a pink look would look better and I was impressed because I felt the same way. I appreciated that Jessie spoke out about what she thought would look better on me; I felt like she had my back! In total, we had 11 people who needed both hair and makeup. I was worried that it would take a very long time, but Jessie and her two assistants run like a well-oiled machine! Started at 8am, done by 1230pm! All my girls looked beautiful!! The makeup lasted all day! Jessie even gave me a little pouch of materials for touch up, but I didn't need it! My hair also stayed in place all night long! Situation: Color Correction *see photos*…read more Background: Bad balayage at another at Stilo Salon, by the owner no less, and turned out nowhere near the inspiration photos I brought in. I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. I highly recommend Vance if you're looking for a highly skilled professional that will make you leave his chair feeling confident and amazing about your hair!!!
