Most recent visit on 6/19 for a dine in lunch. Have visited the Arcadia location multiple times over the past couple years for takeout and dine in. My friend and I came to have lunch while out in the Arcadia area. Sat in the sushi bar area at a table. We each ordered the lunch boat with salmon ($25). Noticed they had a special Match Day Menu. Ordered the loaded fries too ($6). He had a Kirin light (think $9.50) and I had the Benihana iced tea ($4.50). Today's visit was 3 stars for food and 4 stars for service, but I have had better on prior visits (4&5 stars). Seems consistency is the major factor in this rating. The loaded fries was a win. Hot seasoned fries, crispy, topped with chicken, cheese, spicy sauce and jalapeno slices. I'm not a fan of their soup. I would call it broth with slivered mushrooms, fried onions and sliced green onion. LOL. Their salad is nicely chilled but drenched in their dressing (this is normal from what I've had there). It is okay for me, but my friend ordered his dressing on the side. The lunch boat portions are ample and decent for lunch. The salmon was a tad dry (should have asked for some sauce). The California roll was okay but not rolled properly as it falls apart easily. This is the normal experience here, so be gentle picking up with chopsticks when dipping in your soy sauce mix. Today we each received 3 pieces of shrimp tempura, but no vegetable tempura as noted on the menu and like my prior visits. The pieces of sashimi today were nice clean slices. On the prior visit, they were kind of mangled like they were sliced with a regular table knife. My friend was not happy with the sashimi on his prior visit so he skipped the sashimi on his order today and substituted with extra California roll. Let's just say he might have regretted that decision after seeing my order. Think they forgot the fresh fruit on our lunch boats too. We were a bit disappointed the soup, rice and salmon were not hot, more lukewarm or room temperature. Our server today was friendly, checked on us regularly, did her best and that is why I still gave her a 20% tip ($7). Maybe someone in the kitchen should be responsible for making sure orders are complete before the food is sent out to the table. If that had happened, maybe the food would be served hot and the lunch boats would be complete with the vegetable tempura and the fresh fruit. It is a great place to take a leisurely lunch, not feel rushed, have some good food, catch up with friends, check your emails or socials, watch something on their tv, etc. I would say food and service is hit and miss. Price is on the higher end but can be very reasonable or excellent if you take advantage of their special menus or use their loyalty program. Plan to visit again for their Happy Hour and Match Day Menus to try their burger and other items.

We want to try their happy hour menu. We are fascinated with the $3, $6, and $9 menu. The server was great to show us the menu. Plenty of appetizer to choose from. We had the spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, crispy salmon roll, chicken fried rice and gyoza. The cutest thing is the coronitas. A cute 6 oz beer. Perfect size for me to have a little happy hour but with limited calories. Love this place. Will come back for more.

Fast and friendly service and atmosphere. We got a visit from the manager who was very accommodating. Don't laugh at me. I know this is my third visit to a Benihana within the last week. Tonight my Dad (last minute) invited me (& hubby) to this Benihana in Arcadia/Santa Anita. They gave me extra garlic butter topping my steak. Yes, I had another steak. I'll stop tomorrow.. at least for a little while. Very good meal as always and I really like the show when it has energy. All factors must balance. This location has a bunch of parking since it is located in a mall. Same prices, but longer distance from my home. I will return.

I took my daughter and her two best friends to Benihana for a special night out, and it ended up being one of the best decisions ever. It's not always easy to get kids genuinely excited about going out to eat, but from the moment we sat down, they were completely engaged. The chef kept them entertained the entire time with the live cooking, fire tricks, and fun jokes. They were smiling nonstop and are still talking about how amazing the experience was days later. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and kid approved across the board. The service was also excellent, attentive, friendly, and patient with three excited girls at the table. One of my favorite touches was the kids menu that folds into a chef's hat. Such a cute and thoughtful detail that made the night feel even more special and interactive. If you're looking for a fun, memorable dinner experience for kids and adults alike, this is it. We'll definitely be back.

Our recent visit to Benihana, do you all remember those good ole days, well it's kinda that way except more expensive much more expensive now. They have rewards and birthday and anniversary promos and such that helps a little it takes off like $30 but watch for strict usage rules, print out, only dinner , only weekday that sort of thing, read the conditions. And they are trained really well to not really ask you if you like something, but phrasing it as I can get you.... I will bring you.... and That is with Chicken Fried rice of course right?..... I can get you another one (beer) instead of Would you like another..... the entire dining experience is bombarded with these clever and I guess sly tactics.... easily adds up quickly. Now they have added signature butter and are upselling this item at the cost of $6 per scoop. All in all though, its a unique benehana hibachi experience that is full of upselling, tastes great still after all these years though, and that is the most important- just go in prepared and understand what you 'kinda' order and how you kinda respond- on guard! They still take a complimentary photo keepsake for you! That hasn't changed.

I wanted to celebrate my birthday there so my parents can live that experience but that experience was not so good because my reservation was at 2:30pm and it was on Monday, we arrive around 2:10pm and they told me when the time was close they will call us. We were sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting and finally they called us one hour later . My parents are seniors, my dad is 92 and my mom 87 so they need to eat at their time but they didnt because of that. So finally we were sit and my dad didnt care for the show because he was so hungry that all he cared was eat. The food was good, the ambiance and the ladies in the front desk too but the wait is unacceptable.

I've gone to this place several times when I'm craving good food with a show. The chief likes to put plenty of butter which makes the food very tasty. I had a steak and lobster tail and it was cooked perfectly. The service is always good, manager comes to check to make sure things are well. The only downfall is it's overpriced.

I don't leave negative reviews but this was not okay. I was so disappointed with the consistency of dining in and take-out. My family saw the deal for the Mother's Day gift card promotion they were offering and decided to purchase them. The promotion is if you buy a $200 gift card, you get a $60 gift card back. The $60 gift card can't be used until after a certain day in May so we had $200 to spend on a lunch. We decided to get take-out on Monday (04/13) and got the lunch duet for 4 people. The total came out to be $151 and that's a pretty hefty amount to be spending on lunch alone and we expected the same portions as dine-in. We were so wrong. When we received the order, it looked like it was a kid's meal. A lunch duet is usually 2 different protein choices, soup or salad, fried rice, and a side of grilled zucchini and onions. For 3/4 of the lunch duets, we wanted chicken fried rice and it was $1 additional add-on to the total. There wasn't a single piece of chicken in our fried rice. The amount of protein we received was not okay. I got the scallops and calamari and I'd say there were only 2 full pieces of scallops that were cut into small pieces so it looked like there were a lot. The calamari looked like half of a full one. I think there was a total of 8 pieces of scallops and calamari in total. Even my boyfriend's chicken and steak julienne portions were insanely small. For a steak julienne, there's supposed to be sauce and onions on it. Lo and behold, dry steak with no sauce or onions. We still had some money left-over so my dad and I decided to go in person to test out our theory, dine-in and get more. Our theory was in fact correct. We probably received double the portions. I got four whole scallops and a full calamari steak with my order. The amount of rice we got was insane. It was probably the total amount of all four of our portions for just one person. We also got a lot more zucchini and onions with our individual order. We sat at the bar and the service was amazing. Even though there were 4 tables and only one server/bartender, he was amazing and attentive. I don't think there should be a bias for quantity control when it comes to dine-in vs. take-out. Customers pay the same price regardless of deciding to eat at home or at the restaurant. Definitely dine-in if you decide to eat at Benihana.

There's mall parking to get here. This one is located by the food court outside of the mall itself. There's plenty of seating. The noise level is decent considering all the action happening. The staff are loads of fun and really friendly. Our chef was good and did all tricks and gags expected. This is great place to take friends and family for a special event. I only got the hibachi steak. This comes with 5 courses. The salad was okay but not my choice of lettuce cuts. The onion soup was decent. The mushrooms were great. Lots of these dishes have loads of a garlic butter. You definitely taste it. The steak was cooked to medium rare like how I ordered it. The fried rice was good with plenty of chicken pieces. I also got to try some ice cream which was colder than expected but good.

Quick and easy spot! Walked in at 1PM on a Monday and only had about a 10-minute wait. Got the Power Meal for 2 and ordered the NY strip for just $4 more. Totally worth it! The chef was super kind, quick, and cooked everything perfectly. For $44 total, the portions and flavors made it a great deal. They even gave us a free photo, which was a nice touch. Would definitely come back!

We came in around 1pm for the Power Lunch. We ordered the NY strip. Food came out quick and the quality was as to be expected at Benihana. The NY strip was surprisingly sizable, especially for the price. It came with a side salad and rice. Service was super quick, and we were in and out in under an hour. Truth is !! I came here many times for birthday celebrations , but I do not come here often. The food was decent which I always feel!! However, our chef xavi was phenomenal!! He was very friendly, humorous, and entertaining. They have happy hour 3-6 pm with food and drinks specials. I had the mai tie and chili shrimp rolls that were the best!!! I dine at Benihana once a year just to use my birthday certificate. Otherwise, it's overpriced (you're paying more for the cooking show than the food), inauthentic and kind of depressing. The current birthday offer, which has been devalued over the years, is for $30 worth of free food and non-alcoholic drinks AFTER an $30 initial purchase of the same, for dinner only Mon-Thurs. Waits for a teppanyaki table can be long, especially if you are a smaller party, and there is even more waiting for the show chef after you are seated. We thought we'd avoid this delay by reserving super early (before 4 pm) and sitting in the bar area, which has a regular bar, sushi bar and table seating but no cooking show. As it turns out, the staffing during this non-peak hour is very low. There was but one teppanyaki chef and one waiter, and there were 3 tables to be served. At least 3 lunchtime teppanyaki tables whose diners had left long ago were left uncleared for the duration of our visit. Meanwhile, the bar area had one server/bartender and one sushi chef, so we still had to wait awhile for our all-sushi meal. The sushi, like the teppanyaki meals I've had here in the past, was acceptable for a non-aficionado like myself . I was supposed to get miso soup but instead got the onion soup. which is clear broth out of a carton with a few green onions thrown in. The passionfruit lemonade was good, and the refill was free. The vessel I was given to hold my soy sauce and wasabi was a disposable plastic cup that you'd use for takeout. The spicy tuna over crispy rice had rice that was kind of hard, not crispy. The chili ponzu yellowtail was good, as was the nigiri assortment. Our server was very friendly and apologized for the wait for the food, but she disappeared afterwards and I had to ask another staffer for the check. The bathroom was semi-clean. Same time next year, unless the birthday offer changes again. read more

I've recently went to Benihana for the first time and let me tell you the man Izzy was an amazing cook, food was DELICIOUS and hell of a jokester!!!! Travis and his team were great hosts. The food was excellent, my favorite was the lobster as part of the Benihana Special menu. The chef prepared it perfectly with a dab of garlic butter at the bottom for a ton of flavor. The show they give while cooking is a fun bonus. First off, our chef Djoni was amazing and really enjoyed his service. Would give him 5 stars if it was just based on him only, but the other service workers is what I would give zero stars. I've been to this Benihana a few times and visits were always mid-okay. Today visit though has me not wanting to ever come back. I was really disappointed servers and waiters at this establishment today. It was absolutely ridiculous as it took so long just to get our drink order. Every request took longer than needed and it seemed like we did not have one specific person. We asked for one thing and someone else would bring it much later. Some requests like simply asking for soy sauce was not done. We also had to ask for our dessert, was not offered a dessert menu, and just handed the bill to us. It was very confusing and frustrating as it took 30 minutes from getting the check and finishing the transaction as we were just waiting there. We saw the waiter, who took our bill, walk by several times and was confused and worried as to where my card was. There was no communication. After waiting for the bill back, a different server came back to give it to us and with attitude, apologized for the wait. Our whole table did not feel taken care of at all from wait staff. Also, there bathrooms have always been atrocious and seemed not to be tended to all day. But today was on another level. The handicap/baby changer stall was flooded and the restaurant did nothing but put an "out of order sign" on the open door and left all the water. Do better please. read more

I've never experienced such poor management from a restaurant, I don't think I will come back . I have been going to eat dinner on New Year's Eve for the past forty years and have never experienced anything like this. My reservation was for 7:30 and we did not get seated until 8:45. The hostesses were rude and unapologetic, telling every customer that checked in that it would be twenty minutes until they were seated. I checked in every twenty minutes and was provided the same response "we're doing the best we can" with no apology whatsoever. I insisted they tell me the truth and there were three tables still ahead of me after nearly an hour of waiting past the reservation time. People were checking in for 8:30 reservations and being told they'd be seated shortly (clearly a lie). The manager (a woman, 40ish years) came out and did not apologize, but yelled at everyone in the lobby that "it's New Year's this is how every restaurant is. " We then had to wait an additional 35 minutes to get our food started because they were short on hibachi chefs. Our chef Chris was fun but the food lacked the usual Benihana flavor and we were appalled by how small the portion sizes have gotten given the high price hike (three shrimp, and very small meat portions). Our waiter made a mistake with over charging our cards, it was later resolved. There was never an apology from the manager or visit to the table. I would expect at least a complimentary scoop of ice cream given how upset the packed lobby was all night. Again, given the poor management, lack of apology, and high prices I will not be back read more

Came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday and it was so underwhelming! The guy that was at our table barely did any fun tricks and wasn't even that entertaining at all! I was really hoping the kids would have a better time than this....food was just average too in my opinion. Very salty and mediocre at best. I'm a little bit lost as to why people are giving so many great reviews for this place. I mean I guess it's possible I caught them on a bad night but that just means this place is inconsistent and unreliable....I personally would not recommend this place. For the price range, you can definitely go somewhere else for better food and experience IMO. read more

After not coming to Benihana since before the pandemic, I decided to give it a try since I had a birthday coupon that I needed to redeem. We ordered the hibachi scallops and hibachi steak (medium rare). The course started with the classic onion soup and salad, the soup was a bit too salty for my liking, but the salad was fine. Next the chef came and started preparing the courses with the usual Benihana show. The scallops were cooked first and they had a nice sear to them. The steak turned out to be a bit tougher than what we expected, but the flavor was still there. The vegetables were all pretty decent too. We finished the dinner off with a complimentary photo and ice cream for the birthday celebration. I would've liked to rate Benihana higher, but the food is ridiculously overpriced. A dinner for two WITH the $30 birthday coupon came out to be $65, which meant that it would have been over $100 without. I just can't really justify paying this much money for a Benihana meal even with the portions, show, and quality factored in. read more

We've eaten at the Hibachi tables several times and have always gotten excellent food and service. Today they were very busy so we decided to eat at the regular tables. The food was cold, and the service neglectful. I got the filet and shrimp. The shrimp was cold and overcooked,, so rubbery. The filet peices looked like leftovers. They were all different sizes and thicknesses. It was supposed to be medium rare, of course it wasn't. We also got the child's steak and shrimp, again cold and rubbery, and overcooked. We asked 3 different people to bring our child a fork. Finally I went and asked the folks behind the bar for one. I would have complained to the manager, but we were having a celebratory meal and upsetting my family wasn't worth it. read more

I concur with Oscar D's review from 4/27/23. Apparently the quality you get here varies greatly and my company dinner tonight (4/28) happened to hit the jackpot like poor Oscar D. Don't know the chef's name but he's a young Hispanic guy. He attempted several times but the poor chap just could not get the onion volcano to erupt and the whole thing engulfed in flames; the tossing of shrimp tails into his hat was also a bust, none of them got in. Zero funny chitchat also. As for the food, dry chicken fried rice, dry shrimp, dry lobster,.... the only things not dry were the drinks har har. At the end of this dinner show debacle, he cleaned the hot iron plate with some strong smelly chemical detergent that gave me a headache. The best thing I could say about this Benihana 'dinner show' is I did not pay for it. I would not have been able to justify $75 for the lobster set given the dismal food and show. Asked for medium-rare, and Chicken Fried Rice (5.00), I don't know why they charge for the rice? I also got one of my favorite cocktails..Piña Colada (11.00). William was our server along with Linda. Service was somewhat lacking. I asked for water twice and never received it, and eventually had to flag down a server from another table. We also requested to-go containers and never received those either. I will mention something that did not affect my rating, since I understand this is simply how the restaurant operates. If your party is not large enough to fill a station, you will share a table with another group. As I mentioned, the family seated with us had two small children, one of whom cried for most of the meal. As anyone knows, the sound of a crying child can be quite piercing and obnoxious, so it is just something to keep in mind. All in all, it was still a fun experience, and we will definitely be back.

Yesterday I tried to order and it was closed so I went with my usual 323 Hibachi on Wheels (go see my review). Even though I ordered two plates yesterday - you don't become Elite unless you exhibit "big back" eating tendencies lol - I was still craving more hibachi, especially steak. So here I go again trying to order from this place and they weren't taking orders. Persistence paid off and they finally opened up the delivery option. I got the steak and shrimp plate. The steak was tenderly cooked and not chewy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and they were not rubbery. The veggies came with a nice assortment of zucchini, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms; however, they could have used a little more salt/pepper and/or butter (I think they may have been sautéed in oil). The rice was perfection and this girl loves her fried rice. Note that they put scallions on top of the rice/meat portion as well as on the shrimp in case you have an allergy (I don't recall seeing that mentioned when I was ordering). As for the sauces, my go to is the "pink sauce". They offer a spicy version (the Joker) and a non-spicy version. The spicy version is too spicy for me but it was doable and the other one was too bland. I was disappointed with their version of "pink sauce" but their garlic butter and ginger sauce (which I never use) made up for the disappointment. Definitely go with the garlic butter and ginger sauce. I dip all of my hibachi in sauce and don't conform to what sauce goes with what - I conform to what my tastebuds like. While this was a very nice portion for the price, ya girl ate nearly everything and I had already eaten about an hour prior lol. Zero control when it comes to yummy food. This is definitely a place to get your hibachi on and gets a yummy in your tummy rating. One recommendation for the restaurant: For deliveries, I suggest stapling a receipt or something to that effect so the recipient can tell if the delivery person accessed the food/opened the bag and potentially tampered with the food. In this day and age, one can't be too safe.

My boyfriend and I were initially seated but quickly moved to allow our table to be used for a reservation that just phoned in; and thus, we were moved to a tiny back corner table where my I was two inches from the register and phone. This isn't awful, per se, but I was continuously becoming very friendly (metaphorically) with staff using the register and/or answering calls. It just didn't make me feel wholly welcome. For our sushi feast, my boyfriend and I ordered Mozuku seaweed ($8.00), Assorted Vegetable Tempura ($10), Deluxe Sushi Dinner (chef's choice nigiri and rolls, picked vegetables, miso soup, miso dressing salad - $45), Japanese King Mackerel Nigiri (2 pieces - $14), Unagi Eel (2 pieces - $13), Fatty Blue Fin w/ Takuan roll (12.50), and Glass Shrimp (2 pieces - $21.00). I am just going to get right into the nitty-gritty and say I simply did not like Sushi Kisen, at all. It might just be me (the restaurant was full so clearly people like it) and maybe I just don't gel with Edomae style. My favorites - the miso soup, salad, pickled vegetables and vegetable tempura - weren't even sushi! I love seaweed salad so I made the mistake of thinking this seaweed would be similar but it was a bowl of slop straight from the ocean and I found it putrid and inedible. But again, that may be my fault for not knowing. But what WASN'T my fault were my issues with the actual sushi: the glass shrimp was okay but a super weird texture and not worth $21 and would make more sense at half that price. The Japanese King Mackerel was the worst king mack I have ever had! It was grossly briny and "muddy" and tasted of poor quality even though I know it wasn't (but it shouldn't taste that way!). None of my boyfriend's Deluxe Sushi Dinner was that appetizing either and he didn't seem overly impressed. The Fatty Blue Fin roll was fine... but I truly sensed no flavor of any sort being simply bland. But at least it wasn't gross like much of the others that were not worth their price points. The eel was perfect - I am glad they didn't ruin that because I have quite the romance with eel. Again, I'll take some of the blame that maybe Sushi Kisen just isn't my preference but I think it runs deeper and they simply aren't as great as presented (which I can confirm from all of their recent reviews that share my same sentiment). Coupled with odd seating and a very disappointing sushi dinner; Sushi Kisen is simply not for me and a spot best decided for yourself whether worth a visit. To be fair, my boyfriend and I have had worse sushi so Sushi Kisen wasn't God-awful; but definitely not great, either.

Menu and topping selection is the same as FWY. Got the signature with the snake fish and also a peppercorn soup with Swai. If I am comparing the food here to FWY, honestly this place has much more flavor. The fish is marinated and are in bigger chunks. It's very fragrant but also saltier. I was added water to my leftovers and it was still salty. The rice isn't as mushy either. Rice is free for dine in. Last time when I ordered takeout, I was surprised they provided rice automatically for free as well. My only complaint again is the lack of customization. The soups aren't spicy enough to my liking and I wish I could adjust the spice level. Service is excellent. Very attentive and polite. Parking is easy to find and restaurant is clean.

Last month, I visited Benihana restaurant in Arcadia with high expectations of enjoying a pleasant dining experience. However, my visit turned into a nightmare when the restaurant charged my card twice for a single transaction. During my recent visit to the Benihana Arcadia location, I decided to place a to-go order for eight steak and shrimp meals. While I typically frequent the Puente Hills location, which is closer to me and where I dine 2-3 times a week, I wanted to try the Arcadia location as I was in the area. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the way my order was prepared and the customer service I received. At the Puente Hills location, I always receive my meals portioned separately, which I find extremely convenient for portioning and distributing the meals. However, at the Arcadia location, my eight portions were combined into four containers, making it more difficult to distribute. Additionally, the rice was portioned into two containers, which only added to the confusion. When I spoke to the supervisor, Alisha, she informed me that they portioned the meals according to company policy. However, I expected them to be portioned separately, as that has been my experience at the Puente Hills location. Alisha suggested that I could have written directions to portion them separately in the notes, but unfortunately, she did not provide any further solution to the issue. As a result, I had to ask for a refund and place another order at the Puente Hills location, where I drove over to receive my order. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the situation, particularly Alisha's lack of initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Benihana in Arcadia tonight.. It was a real treat right from the moment we first arrived.. I can't help but to compare it to the worst experience we had at Benihana in Encino. Without sharing all details of that experience I will just point out I would not recommend anyone to go there. The worst experience came first from Zack the terrible bartender and top that with the even worse Dean the Supervisor, we left without having had dinner in the poorly lit dirty restaurant, thankfully.. We enjoyed a much better meal and experience in Arcadia with Joseph our waiter starting us off. The atmosphere was very pleasant and nicely kept. The first experience of walking in was the feeling of being in the right place. Joseph introduced us to our very friendly and entertaining chef Randy. He put on a great show and prepared a very delicious meal, What a great Chef Randy, not to be soon forgotten. At the end of our meal we were made to feel even more special when the restaurant Supervisor came by to make sure we all enjoyed our evening. We came here for my wife's bday, especially this is the tradition for us to take their Benihana picture for our bdays. I think this will be the last time for us in a while. My last bday I didn't leave any bad review as it wasn't good already. This time, Server completely forgot the entire table's soup and salad. As for chef, I believe he should be the management for all chef, and the taste of the food is great, but over cooked everything, and forgot orders. I ordered kids meal for my daughter so we have 3 sets of meal, and on our table there's one couple sharing the meal together, so it turns out I got less appetizer shrimp? (that over cooked too) I have been to Benihana since 2011, been to puente hills, Santa Monica, Torrance and Santa Anita. I have to say these two years, Benihana really gone downhill. Speed is slow, service is bad and slow, and I never seen any "manager" looking person on the floor for 2 years, about 6 times of my visits. This will be an end from Benihana for me until they improve on their service, speed and consistency of their chef. read more

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and lively, with the iconic teppanyaki tables and skilled chefs preparing to dazzle guests with their culinary talents. The food was delicious! I ordered Benihana Trio, with the filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp combo, and each bite was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and fresh. Watching chef Alex prepare it right in front of us added an interactive, entertaining element to the meal. The chef's flair and sense of humor kept the whole table engaged, and they even performed some fun tricks like the flaming onion volcano! The portions were generous, and it was clear that the ingredients were high-quality. I'd also recommend trying the fried rice. Also, the strawberry smoothy was on point. Horrible Service - Ruined the Experience We visited Benihana Arcadia on 1/15/25 at 5 PM for my tia's birthday, and unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. We were so excited for the evening, but from the moment we walked in, things went downhill. The hostess was incredibly rude, biting her nails and muttering "um" without any direction, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We even noticed her touching the plates after biting her nails, which was particularly unsettling and unsanitary. We were made to wait 15 minutes just to check in, which was completely unnecessary. Once seated, things didn't improve. The cook's lack of enthusiasm and poor interaction with us only added to the disappointment. The overall vibe was off, and it felt like no one cared about making our experience special. We ended up leaving after being seated. It's unfortunate because we had high hopes for the experience, but the poor service made it impossible to enjoy. We won't be returning. read more

We moved to this area from the San Francisco Bay Area and never thought we would find a Benihana's in SoCal that could ever measure up to the locations up there. But when we found this Benihana in Arcadia, we were not only floored by our experience , but genuinely taken aback by their staff which performed even better than those at the locations up in the Bay Area. Everyone from the hosting staff that greeted us to the waiters/waitresses; all assisted us with enthusiastic attentiveness that made us feel as if we were VIPs! Additionally, any special needs and requests we had were graciously accommodated. Lastly, the chef's at this Benihana were significantly more entertaining and engaging than our past visits at other locations; all our food and drinks phenomenal! Despite the situation, I maintained my composure and received only half-hearted apologies. Hungry as we were, we decided to continue our meal, although the food quality was disappointing. The soup seemed to be microwaved, evident from its texture and heat level. The salad was excessively drenched in ginger dressing, while the rice was unappetizing in appearance and tasteless. To add to the experience, the manager's attempt to compensate for the inconvenience with a minimal discount felt inadequate and highlighted the restaurant's lack of professionalism. rudest staff ever. we made a reservation for 4 and once seated since one of our guest wasn't there yet they gave us so much attitude eventhough our missing guest was in the parking lot. the manager came and my wife had to prove to him from her open table phone account that we had a reservation for 4 as if that was a way to treat your customers by calling them basically liars. Not once did anyone apologize or offered any type of curtesy the incompetent people at the entrance desk must have made a mistake and they tried to pin it on us if you can believe that. In the end we just got up and left as we definitely didn't feel welcome at all. that place is so dirty from the entrance door to the table everything was gross and sticky. i will never set foot in this place again. the rude staff probably saved us from food poisoning anyways looking at the insanitary state of everything there so thx for that, but again, no thank you. what a joke. read more

Benihana has always been a special place for my family. We've been coming here our entire lives, and it's where we naturally gather to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions. This visit was no different--we came to celebrate both my son's and my wife's birthdays, and it turned into another memorable experience. We had the whole family with us and truly had a great time. Our chef, Kiki, was hilarious and kept everyone entertained throughout the meal, making the experience fun and engaging for all ages. We had an awesome experience at Benihana thanks to the incredible team of Chef Zach and our server Kristy & Ethan. From start to finish, everything was perfect. Zach was a true showman at the hibachi grill--his skills were unmatched, and he kept us entertained the entire time. Extremely disappointing experience. I placed an online order and paid full price, only to get home and realize multiple items were missing -- no sauces, no soups, no salads -- and the dessert was completely wrong. What's more frustrating is the complete lack of follow-through. I called the same day and was told a manager would contact me within a few days. After hearing nothing, I followed up again and was promised another callback that never came. It has now been over three weeks, multiple "escalation" emails later, and still no real response or resolution. Mistakes happen, but ignoring customers and failing to take accountability is unacceptable. At this point, it's not just about the missing items -- it's the lack of service and respect for customers' time and money. Okay people this is hands down one of the best experiences I've had and the food is absolutely amazing, the service was fast and caring and very polite and friendly they made sure to take any plates and refill drinks almost the second I was done with them, this is an amazing place to take you family for a fun happy experience and for great food, the chef went above and beyond to make sure my family enjoyed the show and meal and was very nice and friendly.
