Highly recommend We are here Every weekend, foods are delicious, good customer service and good investment.

There is nothing I love more in this world than a good happy hour. And what Kabuki does best is that they have happy hour on the weekends too. 2-5pm happy hour Saturdays and Sundays where rolls are $4-10 and nigiri is under $5 for two. Apps were also $4-10. This was a mocktail day but drinks were also $3-10 ish. Love sushi and love a good deal.

I eventually stopped trying to find the tip feature within the Yelp application. I apologize, as I find it difficult to keep up with all the updates regarding phones and applications. The information I wished to convey was to inform individuals that the parking lot next to the restaurant typically becomes full during happy hour. However, street parking and additional parking below the restaurant are usually available. Another piece of advice is to encourage people to use the Yelp application to join the waitlist. I had initially decided against sharing the following suggestion, but I felt it was only fair for patrons to be aware that they should inform the host or hostess of their willingness to be seated at the bar or sushi bar, especially when there is a long waitlist. Of course, one must be at least 21 years of age to be seated at the bar. We were very pleased to have Bryan as our sushi chef when we sat at the sushi bar. We received our sushi more quickly than when we sit inside the restaurant or outdoors. I was impressed that he was able to remember what we ordered, and he told the server our order about an hour after we placed it.

I've been coming to kabuki for their happy hour menu for over a decade and it's always reliable and good. Definitely not the fanciest sushi spot in Pasadena but a solid choice for a casual family dinner! I really like how they have HH on weekends now! My faves are the Alaskan roll and the firecracker appetizer with spicy tuna. Prices are very reasonable and service was great!

Very good. The pieces of fish were very thick! Our waitress was very kind as well. The teriyaki chicken was good too.

I came here with my partner and my mother for happy hour, craving sushi since it had been a while since our last visit. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I have an allergy to cucumber, and I made it very clear to the server from the beginning that none of the sushi I ordered could have cucumber (with the exception of the California roll my partner ordered). We've been here many times before and have always given the same instruction, so I expected it to be handled with care. First, the tuna roll looked off -- not the vibrant red I was used to, which raised concerns about freshness. Then, while eating the scallop roll, I bit into a shell, forcing me to spit the entire piece out. When I informed the server, his only response was "oh, OK" before walking away. He never apologized or acknowledged the seriousness of the situation until we had to go back and ask for the roll to be removed from the order. Even then, there was no apology. Next, we ordered the Alaskan roll and were told there was no cucumber in it. Thankfully, I checked before eating because there was cucumber inside. This was extremely concerning, given my allergy. It is very unprofessional and unsafe for a restaurant of Kabuki's size and reputation to be so careless with food allergies. Not once did the server apologize, and at no point did a manager come over to address the issue. On top of that, the plates were dirty, and the restaurant itself did not feel clean -- surprising given that this is a relatively new location. This was a truly upsetting experience. Not only was the food quality questionable, but the lack of care and concern for customer safety was alarming. Sadly, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone -- especially those with allergies. Mistakes like this put customers at serious risk, and Kabuki's handling of the situation showed me that customer well-being is not their priority. Truly disappointing. :(

The best thing about kabuki is the huge selection you can choose from! they have sushi and sashimi, but also some cooked foods. my friend got the poke which she says she always goes with and is pretty solid. I got the kabuki roll, and i loved how it came with different fish as a topping for each piece. i will say the "crunch" inside the roll can be very drying despite the various tops, so i'd order eel sauce with it. this location has an underground parking lot, and the restaurant is accommodating for large parties.

Marcello was phenomenal last Saturday afternoon. We arrived just before 330pm for their happy hour. We were a party of five and were seated right away. We always try to sit in either Marcello's or Martinez's area. We ordered all of our faves. Started with miso soups all around and house salads x3. We ordered the firecracker, dumplings x2, shrimp tempura x2, sesame chicken, wings and the sunkiss roll. What was pretty cool is that right when we sat down he brought our soda water. He never let our ginger and Siracha go empty. It was lent so no Sapporo. The happy hour is 7 days and a great way to try everything. Easy parking adjacent to the restaurant. The food is great but it the personalized service 10/10 that keeps us coming back. Ask for Marcello he'll take great care of you!!!

This is one of my go-to Japanese restaurants in SGV. They have a wide variety of options that all taste pretty good and are decently priced. The beef sukiyaki was so delicious and totally worth it! The kabuki roll was pretty impressive too; we don't usually like roe or uni but it worked so well with the underlying rolls. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Service is really nice. There is a free underground and ground level parking lot. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night at 6 pm, but my party of 6 was able to be seated with no wait.

This time I went and the food was not good. The chicken was tough and the teriyaki sauce was bland. Service was very slow mind you it was not crowded. Cool atmosphere with a decent-sized bar.

I thought I already reviewed Kabuki because I'm here... a lot. The food is always solid, like truly consistent every single time. Their happy hour is unbeatable. The menu is large with variety. Every time I go everyone's friendly, and they're always going the extra mile. Like they are so so nice. You don't see that a lot anymore. It gets packed! Parking can sometimes be hard to find even with the underground parking. Overall, just a reliable go-to spot for good sushi and good service.

There are a number of small boutique stores located here. This Japanese restaurant was a great find when I was out walking. I was actually going to pick up some food at another place. I read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect and was pleased to find that the food here is very good. This is a takeout only restaurant. They cater and also Chef Maezaki teaches sushi techniques in the surrounding area. I entered the front door and walked to the large counter. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I asked a number of questions and realized that I must be talking to Chef Maezakl. He showed me the menu. He also showed me specials that they were offering. After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. All I can say about the tiramisu is that it has an addicting flavor! I can't wait to have it again. It's nice that the parking lot accommodates all the small boutique businesses. There has always been plenty of parking when I was there. This shopping area with its boutique stores is a good find. I look forward to my experience at CM Ghost Kitchen.

Overall hits the spot for sushi fix. The only drawback is it's priced the same as restaurants which would have served two pieces of each fish plus uni and ikura etc. Although I will say I was pleasantly surprised at the tiny squeeze bottle sauces provided and that it tasted homemade (ponzu, yuzu, unagi sauce). May order again if there's a deal.

My friend and I shared the following dishes: -Carlos Jewel Box: My favorite dish here. I just loved the variety. Sashimi and fried seafood on a bed of fluffy and seasoned rice. Also a nice umami kick from the ikura. The sashimi was tasty and standard, but I really enjoyed the fried seafood bites. The tempura batter was great and the seafood was nice and plump. -Tendon Combo with Cold Udon: Same notes for the tempura here, the batter was great and the tempura here is on another level. I also liked the half boiled egg and breaking the yolk into the rice, so delicious! The cold udon dipping noodles were also tasty and refreshing. Great for hot weather. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles. The value of each set was pretty good for what it was and the food was good quality. This restaurant is located in a cute alleyway with good outdoor ambiance. This place looked really popular, with a lot of people coming in and out, so we decided to give it a try. The girl seating people when we arrived wasn't particularly friendly, she seemed like she was just going through the motions. Inside looked really busy, so we decided to sit outside. Even with the crazy heat, there was plenty of shade where we were sitting, so it was actually bearable. There was a QR code near the entry way that I had scanned but the young lady ended up bringing us menus, which was helpful. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura bowl with wheat noodles, but actually wanted the Undo noodles but I let it go. My mom ordered the all-vegetable tempura bowl. We also added a piece of chicken breast tempura to each of our meals for some extra protein. The tempura was different from what I'm used to. The batter was very light and flaky, but it was delicious! We both really enjoyed the vegetables. My favorites were definitely the zucchini and pumpkin. Overall, the service ended up being decent as well. Now here's the part I feel bad about mentioning. About 40-60 minutes after we left, my stomach started cramping really badly, and I ended up in the restroom. No need to go into details--it was horrible. I asked my mom how she was feeling, and she was completely fine. We pretty much ate the same meal, with the main difference being that I had the shrimp tempura and she didn't. So naturally, I wondered if maybe I had gotten a bad piece of shrimp. Of course, I can't say for certain that the shrimp was the cause. I'm not going to write this place off as a bad restaurant because of my experience. It could have simply been an unfortunate one-off situation. The place was clearly popular, and by the time we were getting ready to leave, there was actually a line of people waiting to eat. Overall, I think this is probably a good spot and we genuinely enjoyed the food while we were there. Unfortunately, after the way I felt later that day, I just don't know if I'll personally be coming back anytime soon.

The karaage had a solid fry, and wasn't greasy at all while being both crunchy and juicy. The sauce was a creamy and spicy and paired well with the chicken. The tonkotsu ramen was delicious although a bit on the sweeter side - the egg was very well marinated and the chashu generous and flavorful. - Tokyo set with tuna don (5/5): Also came with soba noodles, miso soup, and tsukemono. The tuna don had a generous portion of tuna and rice. It tasted fresh and was a simple and well executed dish that satisfies your cravings. The soba noodles were a surprise to me. I didn't expect the soba noodles to be in a sauce with a string sesame oil consistency and taste. It was refreshing yet a bit heavier as a result. I also love the variety of fish provided with it. Overall (5/5): Disclaimer - we came here late April. But this is a gem in Pasadena that we wished we visited sooner! The lunch deals have very generous portions for the price and we were super stuffed after. We also were quite impressed with the execution of the tsukemono which looked like canned vegetables mixed with mushrooms that were pickled together for an unexpectedly rich flavor. The vibes of the establishment are modern and tasteful, and we really liked how spacious it was. Service was also solid. Overall we hope to be back to further explore the menu!

It came with a cabbage salad, miso soup, bowl of rice and surprisingly some Mac salad. I honestly thought it would have had more sashimi cause the dish was kinda small but no worries. Next time I'll try the sushi lunch combo cause my coworker got that and it looked like a good deal - it came with 5 pieces, a California roll and a spicy tuna roll. She only got miso soup and not the salad though. Food was pretty good. I did get a stomachache later but I think maybe it was just too much fried food or I just ate too much cause the fish tasted fine when I was there. There's only two bathrooms though - one for men and one for women. The one for women was out of order so they let me use the men's. It was clean. I just note this cause I dislike having just one bathroom for a fairly mid size restaurant. We also walked here so I'm not sure about the parking situation but I didn't see a lot so I'm guessing street parking on green or Wilson is what you'll have to do. The only other downside was that the couldn't do separate checks which always sucks in a group setting.
