Salty, overpriced, and a complete lack of personality or enthusiasm by the chef that is supposed to be the one entertaining the people at the teppanyaki table. We decided to take our kids here just to have them experience the whole Benihana thing. I haven't been to a Benihana in like 15 years, and it is way different now. From what I remember the chefs used to be entertaining. These guys twirl the spatulas around a few times, and then proceeded to cook our food without saying pretty much a word. Very dull, and not the experience we were looking for. The seafood Diablo was pretty much a soupy mess of over cooked noodles with three or four shrimp buried underneath. It was so salty that I ate the shrimp out of the noodles and left the rest. I was told that the steak was tasty, but was also salty. The kids each had chicken and shrimp and they were satisfied for the most part, but then again, kids don't ever complain about salt I guess. When we got home, we had to leave our clothes in the garage because they smelled so bad like food. They have range hoods above the grills that are doing a half assed job of sucking up the steam and smoke from cooking, but you still get inundated with food smell. Don't take any nice leather jackets or nice wool coats because you will end up having to have them dry cleaned after this experience. On top of all this, the bathrooms were pretty disgusting. There are much better Teppanyaki places than Benihana. Do some research. I would not recommend Benihana to anyone. read more

This restaurant has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We made a reservation for 3 at 6:45 pm. We checked in at 6 & then said they were on time. We came back at 6:30 & we were told we had an hour wait. Then they said another 1/2 hour. I left. My family stayed. We went for our anniversary on 4/21/24 and had a fantastic meal. Chris was our server and Mike was our amazing chef! Chris was very attentive and our drinks were never empty and discarded dishes were removed immediately. Mike was very entertaining and cook our food to perfection! 1. When you make reservations, the table should be available at the time of reservation. Otherwise whats the point? 2. You go to Benihana to be entertained, when you go with children this is especially so. Reservations for 3:30 made weeks in advance. Had to wait 45 minutes past time of reservation then another hour at table before chef showed up. We didn't get out of there til after 6pm ruining our other plans for the evening. Chef did no tricks at table. No flippity flip clickity click, no flying shrimp no rubber chicken no fake ketchup yarn no train whistle, he barely spoke to the table of 8 patrons at all. This is a Christmas Eve tradition for our family and it was sadly not what we had come to expect from Benihana. For an over $200 dollar bill I expected much more and this was a real shit experience. And by shit, I mean my food must not have been cooked properly because I've been on the toilet 6 times liquid-shitting out what I consumed since getting home. Merry Christmas! read more

All I can say is horrible customer service. We arrived at our reservation time and were told prior that we would be on a 45min to 1hr delay due to staffing. I was ok and planned on that so took a seat with the wifey and kiddos at the bar area. We ordered some app and drinks everything was fine. Then the service went down the drain. Seen multiple 4 person groups come in after us all to be seated before us ? Why ? So I went up to the hostess stand and asked where we were in the line well unfortunately we had moved you out of the queue? Wait what we had been sitting at the bar area as directed for over an 1hr to find out we are not even on the list. Spoke with manager on duty Sara had nothing to say but sorry we are under staffed. Today was our family's first time at the Benihana location in Broomfield and it was much better than our previous experiences at the location in Denver! Our server Nikki was extremely attentive and gave us exceptional service on our son's birthday. She was very quick with our food and constantly checked to make sure that our drinks were filled and that we didn't need anything else. I'm sure this place is actually really great. However, we went during lunch and our guy seemed annoyed that he got a table lmao I still will always go back for their white sauce. When we arrived for pickup (11/9) they pulled some food out of another persons to go order bag and started packing it up in a new bag like it was our order. Great birthday location, the service is getting more assembly line. Soup salad white rice came to table fast. The rice quality is lacking since the white rice was pre-scooped and staged for tables this causing the rice to dry out and crunchy. Brought that up to the wait person but she was too busy and I just returned the rice. The rest of the meal was systematic to what is expected at Benihana. Nothing new, just the rice. read more

And chicken fried rice which is all they offered, I prefer veggie and I should have asked, but chicken fried rice for 3 was an extra $21.00. I also ordered the steak and mushrooms and got literally one sliced mushroom not exaggerating. The cook says oh all meals get mushrooms and proceeded to give everyone at the table mushrooms, which okay great, but why is it on the menu if I'm not getting some more mushrooms?!? Our meal for two adults and one child plus tip $229?? I don't know why we didn't go to an actual nice steak house. Just not worth it in my opinion. We won't be going back. We had made a 6pm reservation. We were called about an hour before our reservation by a manager and asked if we could be moved our reservation to 6:45 as they were having staffing issues. We changed our plans and made this work. When we showed up a 6:45 we were told we had no reservation and they would not be able to accommodate us, again blaming staffing issues and the fact we didn't have a reservation. The manager was very rude to my wife and my mother and did not do anything to try to resolve the issue. I was very disappointed in the managers tone and behavior. Worst birthday experience of my life. We called to see if it was viable to bring a party of 20 (2 were babies) to dinner, knowing we'd have to fit in their limited space. They said they'd put us in two facing tables and use two chefs. So, we made the reservations a week in advance, even got text confirmations. However when we arrived 10minutes early, they didn't have tables ready for us. We had 9 kids, who after 30 minutes of waiting started getting rather squirrelly and out of hand. There were teenagers manning the hostess station who kept telling us that they were waiting for people to vacate one of the tables. My husband asked to speak to the manager and had to wait awhile for him to finally come. He was told they would not ask the people who'd been there for 2 hours to vacate or move to the bar for us. I finally called around to neighboring restaurants to find someone who could accommodate all 20 of us, last minute, on a Friday night. Red Robin said "git on over and we will take care of you." We sent everyone over there and when I exploded to the manager who asked if I wanted to talk to the GM, who was also there. I wanted to unload on him as well because he also made us wait to talk to him, but my husband asked me to go wait in the car with his parents. Not sure what he said but I do know that for the rest of my life, I will remember the shoddy way I, and my family, were treated by these horrible people running this restaurant on my birthday. We all know Benihana sucks in terms of their service, experience, and ability to hold a reservation, but now the food even sucks? We went last night and had an 8:15 reservation. They called us at 8:10 and asked to confirm we were going to make it. We told them we were on our way and would be there in just a few minutes. We arrived at 8:14 and were inside waiting by 8:15. It was 8:42 by the time we got seated. Now, why did they call us to confirm we were coming when they didn't have a spot reserved for us to begin with? Seems like a waste of time to me. It was 9:14 by the time we got a drink. 1 hour to the minute after our arrival. Our waitress told us the bartender had to use the bathroom and that's why our single cocktail and a bottle of sake took over 25 minutes to retrieve. I hope the bar tender is ok and all, i just don't think you should still be at a customer facing service job when you're needing to take 25 minute bathroom breaks. Time to go home and destroy your own bathroom. Soup and salad came without incident and were fine. The chef however, he wasn't the fastest guy in the world and just took forever to do anything, leading to everything being severely overcooked. The shrimp weren't just rubbery, they could have been used to harden steel. The chicken was so overcooked i literally couldn't stab it with my fork, it was hard as a rock. Don't even get me started on the lobster. How a chef doesn't know that 15 minutes is too long to cook shellfish is beyond me. Welcome to Benihana! Within 2 minutes of our chef finishing cooking, our ice cream and checks were brought out. The waitress obviously trying to hurry us along as it was now 10:30 at night! We left just before 10:45, spending over 200$ on a dinner that i could have cooked better myself and i have a hard time frying an egg. We tipped $0 to the chef or the waitress, as i don't reward horrible service or horrible cooking. And neither should you. Have always enjoyed Benihana a few times a year, and expect to spend close to 2 hours there. We put up with the bad experience because the food is always so freakin good.
