So there we were: me and my emotionally fragile, hibachi-craving sidekick on what can only be described as a "repair the soul before we ruin someone else's day" outing. I showed up dressed like life had already defeated me--because, frankly, it almost had. I was one step away from rolling in actual dirt, but sure, let's go eat in public. She wanted hibachi, so hibachi she got. Enter Adam. Oh, Adam. The man, the myth, the employee the entire restaurant apparently plays hide-and-seek with. He swoops in, takes our order, delivers drinks like a champ, and then vanishes into the void. Not a break, not a shift change. A full Houdini act. Sir, are you on payroll or a seasonal illusionist? Meanwhile, the bar staff (absolute queens) notice we've been abandoned mid-dining experience. They step in, check on our food, start bagging things up like they're running a rescue mission. Because clearly, Adam is somewhere off filming a reboot of Gone Girl. (Screeeeeeech!! Loved that movie!!) Then, plot twist,he reappears. Across the room. At another register. Living his best, unbothered life. Naturally, I yell, "HEY ADAM! THEY'RE LOOKING FOR YOU!" because subtlety is for people with patience. The whole place gets a chuckle, Adam returns, and honestly? Round of applause. Performance art. Now, the food. I got the land and sea, filet and scallops. Asked for medium rare, got medium well, because apparently my preferences were just...suggestions. Still, it was flavorful enough, if a bit on the chewy side. Thank the sauce gods, because that's what carried it across the finish line. Scallops? Tasty, but tiny. Like "blink and you missed them" tiny. Sauce again doing the heavy lifting like an underpaid intern. Veggies and onions: a little greasy, but we move. Fried rice? Oh now THIS is where they decided to shine. Absolute perfection. Not dry, not mushy, just right. A few bonus pieces of chicken on top like a little "we care" sprinkle. Mmmm! Loved that for me. My emotionally recovering companion got the hibachi chicken and has since gone completely nonverbal, just aggressively shoveling food into her mouth like she's training for a competitive eating league. So yeah, safe to say she's into it. We also had gyoza and pork to start, solid, a little spice (always nice) sauce on the side, no complaints. Which, coming from me, is basically a standing ovation. Final verdict? Emotionally stabilized, stomach satisfied, and the real evening activity turned into an interactive game of "Where's Adam?" One minute he's taking orders, next minute he's a distant blur by the register, then*poof*gone again. Honestly, forget dessert, we spent the rest of the time scanning the room like we were in a live-action puzzle book. If you go, bring your appetite... and your spotting skills. Adam may be anywhere. Or nowhere. Or watching you right now. Who knows.

Portions are smaller than I seen in NYC but the service was good. The place was clean and the vibe was good. Quited a 1 hr wait but for 2 people going in at 7pm, we got a seat quick cuz there was a table only needing 2 people. The chef was kinda bored and did his thing a bit but he wasn't too into it..

Dante is an amazing server! He was attentive, receptive to all our needs, personable, and, best of all, passionate. Randall, our chef, was also incredible! He kept the energy high with his creativity and sense of humor. Mind you, we arrived at 10 p.m. and didn't leave until midnight, and they were still giving us their all. I truly feel like we got the A-Team. Of course, the food and ambiance were amazing as well. For our Valentine's date, we'll always remember how talented and radiant they were. When we come back, it won't just be because we love hibachi, it will be because we love the culture that Dante and Randall exude.

I stopped in here today just for a cocktail and perhaps a bite before I had a nail appointment. It was around 4 o'clock and there weren't very many people in there. I ordered a happy hour cucumber Collins. It was pretty good, but honestly could not taste the alcohol at all. I ordered something that I get quite often other places, but never here at Benihana, he seared salmon in Nigiri. The service was very friendly, but super slow. Took forever to get my cocktail and then to receive the Nigiri. The pieces of salmon were quite large and a little bit overcooked. I prefer my salmon kind of raw with a bit of a sear. This was cooked too much, in my opinion. Fresh flavor, but not executed well. I have been here for dinner previously, and I enjoyed it very much. This experience was not at the top of my list. Maybe stick to the Benihana hot plate experience -

Benihana has been my go to place for my birthday for the last five years. Food is always good. Service is always great and it's always a good time Unfortunately, this will be the last time that I attend my birthday at Benihana the price that was paid for two people to enjoy dinner, and one drink was out rages !! I feel that the price gouging a Benihana is way ridiculous... all in all everybody's nice, entertaining and very chill but I won't be going back...... Thanks For The Read Until Next Time........

He ordered several sushi rolls and nigiri (including tuna and salmon items). By the middle of the night he was experiencing intense stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, and dizziness. We ended up in the ER this morning because he was so dehydrated and weak. The doctor confirmed it was consistent with bacterial food poisoning, likely from improperly handled raw fish or cross-contamination. This is not something to take lightly. Food poisoning from sushi can be dangerous, especially for anyone with a compromised immune system, pregnant, elderly, or young children. If you value your health, I strongly recommend avoiding this place until they clean up their food safety practices. We will never return and are considering reporting this to the local health department. Please, learn from our mistake and steer clear. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants with better hygiene standards. Your family's health is not worth the risk.

Maybe it was a rough day but our server was annoyed. They have a decent menu and their lunch specials are okay and reasonably priced. However the sushi was pretty mid. Each roll we ordered was wrapped in large amounts of rice with not a lot of fish. It's still quite expensive for what you get especially if you want unagi. Can't say we'll be back since we prefer Yonsei which is nearby but I can see why it's popular. This location does seem different than the one in Cherry Creek. The one in cherry creek seems like a higher quality selection of fish so possibly it's based on location.

Of course we always take the bonito flakes which arrive dancing on top of the food, to wave in the escaping heat of the fresh seafood omelet. They have a roasted barley tea I love that has no caffeine as made without a decaffeinating process and so different than herbals common in Boulder. It has real substance. As we started to eat our pork gyoza and Ebi shumai we saw a lit candle in some food being carried across the room. Having eaten here baby times over the year, we were surprised as we had never seen this here. The entire restaurant broke in singing happy birthday to someone too far for us to see. As a server was passing our table, I mentioned we were celebrating my husband's birthday too. He said meh!d let someone know. As we were waiting for our dessert later, the owner who we've met before , with one of the servers who was carrying an ice cream mochi with a flaming birthday candle arrived and placed it in front of my husband and all the patrons broke out in sing again! Who knew this was a tradition here? The owner, who is almost always on the floor had an instant camera and too a picture of our table with the candle celebration. He made a copy for us to take home and one for nh husband to sign which will go up on some wall I had never noticed. We'll be sure to check in the walk the next time we are in. It's such a fun place with really good food. Do make a reservation these days. It's always busy, the now are only open Wed- Sat for dinner. As we were leaving on a very cold night, there weee people packed into the little entry way waiting for seats. One woman was shivering as she had just flown in from FL she said, unprepared for the recent shift back to winter today. Shocked me this morning too.

I regularly order the Chirashi and Ramen, as well as their negitoro handroll which is genuinely as good as any I've been handed at $200/person omakase experiences. Their ramen broth is super rich, flavorful, and some of the best around, I've tried Uncle, Odd Rabbit, and most of the other spots people recommend and I still find Osaka's to be the best. The price is also relatively reasonable for what you get in Boulder and adding some extra noodles to an order really gives a large satisfying portion. The service is streamlined and efficient with the "call waiter" buttons on the table making for one of the most straightforward dining experiences in Boulder. My only critique is that the timing of sushi bar items and kitchen items can be unharmonious when the sushi bar gets inundated with orders, so just be aware of that when ordering. The desserts and drink options are solid and also make for a very well-rounded dining experience. I love the mont blanc and a draft sapporo. All in all, I recommend Osaka's as the best value Japanese spot in Boulder!
