I absolutely love this place for anniversaries or special occasions. As seen in the photos that's everything we enjoyed during our dinner that night, the food was amazing and never disappoints! The service is great, the staff is very friendly and makes you feel very welcomed and they give recommendations as well. The restaurant itself is built inside the old Louisville mine from back in the day, it's a very dark and warm that is inviting. My husband and I were excited to try out the Melting Pot, we both have never been and wanted to give this restaurant a shot. Unfortunately, our excitement simmered once the lack of timely service and long wait times put the fire out of what was going to be a fun and easy going Valentine's Day dinner. We had an 8:15 PM reservation but weren't seated until 9:00 PM--despite being told it would only be a 20-30 minute wait. Each time we checked in, we were given different estimates, and many other guests were stuck waiting as well. As someone who is pregnant and diabetic, this long delay made the experience even more stressful. Once seated, the service was painfully slow: * Ordered at 9:12 PM * First course (cheese) didn't arrive until 9:50 PM (38 minutes later) * Salad at 10:20 PM, main course at 10:45 PM, dessert at 11:15 PM * A server (whom wasn't even hosting our table) turned off our burner mid-meal while we were still eating right after another server had topped off our main course cooking oil. By the time we finally got our check, it had been 2 hours and 15 minutes since we ordered, and nearly three hours since we arrived. During our dinner, we watched as other tables who had been seated after us (with a different server) were taken care of and received their first two courses before we received our first course. While I understand Valentine's Day is busy, this location was clearly overbooked and understaffed. I wouldn't recommend dining here on a high-volume night unless you're prepared for excessive wait times and poor service. Food: 3/5 Service: 1/5 (our server was nice but it was very clear that she could not handle all the tables that she was serving, and we got the repercussions of that) Ambiance: 3/5 I suppose the best thing about this experience is that I got a teddy bear from our dinner and was able to walk downtown Lafayette and I found a good place for nonalcoholic drinks while we waited. read more

The price they charge does not equal the service and quality of food you receive. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our visit to The Melting Pot. I do not think anything was bad or terrible, it is just extremely overpriced. The service was ok and the food was ok, nothing amazing. However, this location is absolutely beautiful. It is in a historic old mining building in downtown Louisville. The architecture is amazing. Lots of rustic wood and rocks, creating a super cozy and romantic vibe. My husband I have been to another location for a date and enjoyed ourselves. This time we brought our kids. Our 9 year old liked it and could handle dipping his own food but, I did not think it was a good choice for our 5 year old. Hot plate, messy fondue, sharp skewers and a quiet, romantic atmosphere are not ideal for a 5 year old. So, we definitely learned our lesson with that. We paid $189 for my husband and I together (couple meal) and it was an additional $94 for our 9 year old. We received 2 appetizer boards with bread, veggies and apples to dip in cheese. (Not sure why my son did not get his own board). Then we each got a salad. Next was the entree, we got 3 plates that had 5 different meats to try. Last was the dessert boards (we only got 2, instead of 3). Each dessert board had strawberries (some strawberries were not good), bananas, a bite of each of the following: brownie, cake, blondie, Rice Krispie, waffle, marshmallow. We had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation and we had to ask our server for water twice. The quantity and quality of food just did not equal the price. And the portions did not make sense to me, considering we paid full price for a 4 course meal for 3 people but only received 2 apps and 2 desserts. I would definitely not return here. read more

For a special occasion, this is a fun way to celebrate. We went for a birthday and weren't disappointed. Yes, it is pricey and some of the dishes are too small for the price, but the overall experience is great. Our server was wonderful. She helped us with our order, made recommendations to help us save a little money, reminded us to be careful with the hot pots, and always spoke in a reserved but sweet way. The food was delicious, in fact the proteins seemed fresher and more tender than at the Littleton location. I haven't been here in 18 years! It was "Moms Night Out for my church group. We were able to reserve a whole section for all our mommas. I ordered their BFFF special which has appetizer, salad entree and dessert included in price. I was seated with a group of ladies who needed to be gluten free. Their GF cheese dip, and chocolate was amazing! It was plenty of food. I enjoyed every bite of each part of the meal from start to finish. The food is pretty decent but the pricing to quality is overboard. It is a fun experience when you are in the mood to casually eat while conversing with another couple or larger group. Very cool, reasonably quiet vibe. No loud background music or distracting hustle-bustle. You can easily talk across the table without shouting or repeating, "WHAT, WHAT, WHAT." Went there for a family celebration. They were very busy but that didn't affect our meal or service. I have food intolerance and they were so helpful, didn't skip a beat with our server, she and the chefs kept everything that could be separate separated so I could enjoy my meal. The food was delish! During my visit the waiter put the wrong burner on and it burned my(Tesla) key. The stand in manger kept questioning me if I was sure it was my car key. I advised without the key I was not able to start the car. She gave me a number for the manager and said if I have any questions to call him. We had a really great experience here Sunday afternoon celebrating an anniversary. The ambiance of this restaurant makes it a great place to celebrate anniversaries and stuff like that. We were seated and taken care of pretty promptly for our reservation, our server was Min and he was friendly and took great care of us. We aren't the type to do "fine dining" often so it can feel awkward to have your server be doing so much for you, but he made us feel comfortable and explained the menu and everything. The food was amazing, or two people, we were absolutely stuffed afterwards. Their menus are pretty standardized as four course options with various add-ons, so we started with the Wisconsin Cheddar, we each had a house salad, mojo style fondue, and yin yang chocolate fondue. Each fondue is served with an assortment of dippers, and the main course is served with dipping sauces as well that really complimented the dish nicely. With the main course the server will give you general times to cook your meats and guidelines, we have done fondue before so it wasn't too foreign of a concept but it's nice of them to let you know. We did order mixed drinks as well that I feel deserve a shout out, while they were pricier than I'd like, I can't deny that they were delicious. But be careful because the cost for those will sneak up on you, haha! All in all it was a great experience. While it is a pricey one, it was well worth it for the occasion. read more

We were disappointed that, despite having a reservation for ten people, we were seated at two separate tables and were not able to sit together. As we don't get to see everyone very often, the seating arrangement was very disappointing. No one mentioned we would not be able to sit together. When we arrived, they mentioned our reservation had been canceled through OpenTable, however, we definitely did not cancel this reservation made directly by calling the restaurant. The server also mentioned there is only one table in the restaurant large enough for a party of 10. Again, no one mentioned this fact when we booked our reservation. read more

We were very disappointed with our dinner experience. This was for my wife's 60th birthday, Thurday date night and our food was not good. The bread for the cheese fondue was old and stale and the cheese had no flavor and needed salt or something. We ordered the broth option because our waitress said the oil option is not good because they use the same oil over and over again and that sounded not right. I've never been here before and neither has my boyfriend. We have talked about going here for a meal for quite some time! Tonight he decided to take me for my birthday. The atmosphere was pleasant, the lighting is low but not so low that you can't see. Even as the place started getting busier, it was not overly noisy. Our server Elijah was a rockstar, he explained the menu and its options very clearly and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He maintained a good pace bringing out the different courses of the meal. We didn't feel rushed and nothing felt like it took "too long" PERFECTION. The control panel for the hot plate kept falling out and landing at our feet, Elijah took care of it every single time this happened. He was polite and apologetic about the issue (even though we were totally fine-stuff breaks, no biggie) he even spoke to the manager about it and they graciously comped a dessert for us. The food was amazing, you have to give the green goddess cheese a try, and the meats were delicious! They give you an idea of how long to cook each item for in the hot oil so you don't eat something raw. Our only complaint, a minor one at that-is that the way our table was set up, my boyfriend had to really reach to dip his items in the fondue pot. This was simply because we had a weird corner table, and it would seem my boyfriend survived. Just under $600 later (with only having two beers on the tab) and I almost fell out of the booth. Nothing we had or ate was worth this exorbitant price; we will not be back. And they added a "bigger dinner" (I think that is what its called) but it is $16 more for one lobster tail added, seemed a little expensive! The atmosphere is so cool inside with the rustic decor and whiskey barrels, but to be honest, after having been here a few times it seems a little overpriced for what it is. This was a really neat place to visit. My partner and I went to the Melting Pot to celebrate a birthday. We've been to several melting pots on the east coast before, but this is the first time we went to this one. Right off the bag, I will say I was very impressed. Melting Pots seem to be pretty standard inside. But this one was literally themed as if you were in an old mine/mining town. Really neat decor thorough out, so we were impressed from the get go. The Melting Pot is pretty standard, so the food is what we would've expected. They did haves promotion going on though, so we did get a four course entree each along with an entire bottle of wine for a fixed price. It was a really good deal compared to if we'd bought everything separately. The food itself was excellent (in particular, I love the sauces-- especially the plum sauce). Sadly, I didn't take any photos of the food, though mainly because it's what you'd expect of fondue (skewers in meat in a boiling broth pot). If you're someone looking to try fondue, this could be a great place to start (definitely go for the four course experience to get the most bang for your buck). And if you've been to another melting pot before and are on the fence about coming in, definitely stop by given that the location is an experience in and of itself. Would highly recommend. read more

Worst experience ever. I had my purse on the table. The waiter put the wrong burner on and it burned my car (Tesla) car key. The manager on duty insisted that it was not a key. Our second course, my brother got the California salad and I had the apple bacon spinach salad. Both were very tasty and portion was perfect. Not too little or too much. Our third course, we did the bigger night out. Coq au vin was our choice for broth. We swapped out raviolis for filet mignon. We also added an extra lobster tail. The entree was absolutely delicious. We finished our entire course and the extra lobster tail was a good idea. I love lobster tail, am stingy, and would not have liked to share it! Lol Our last course, we had the yin and Yang fondue. I hate to leave this negative review but I'd like to warn others. We were in recently and my whole family got food poisoning. I called the restaurant to chat with a manager, they took down my information but never returned my call. I will also be letting the health dept know. The table-side service was good but overall, management failure to address our food poisoning has me leaving 1 star. We came here celebrating our wedding anniversary, and from start to finish, felt like VIP's. We did the Silver-Package dinner, which included a bottle of wine, and all 4 courses. One tricky thing is parking! Mon-Sat is two hour parking until 5pm, which you should keep in mind. Our reservation was at 3:45pm, so we were ok, but did make us think, just in case for future reference. I always start of with the spinach artichoke cheese dip. Don't be afraid to ask for extra ingredients either! I have them use all the garlic they bring to the table and extra dashes of Tabasco! Yum! The teriyaki steak is to die for! My favorite sauce is the green goddess (for good reason!)! Cream cheese and shallots? Yes please! Chocolate favorites are the bananas foster (feels a bit lighter after a big meal!), and the yin and yang! It's a mix of dark and white chocolate! We have used this restaurant for several years. However, this year we have a member of the group that is vegetarian. We made a reservation for our group for a table with two pots several weeks ago for tonight so we could accommodate both normal and vegetarian food at the same time. The restaurant said this would not be a problem and booked the reservation. Called today to confirm that they had the reservation and was told that they would not guarantee the two cooking pots. They said that if they got any larger parties before our reservation time they would give them the table and would not accommodate our special need. We had to cancel the reservation because we can not arrive at the restaurant to find out that the vegetarian member of our group was going to have to sit at another table. I strongly recommend that you stay away from this restaurant if you have special needs. read more

We come here probably once every other year on a special occasion. Last time I was here was for my son's birthday in August of 2017. Came here again about two weeks ago for my birthday and the experience was just okay for the price you pay. I came with a friend of mine who had never been to the Melting Pot and when asked if we'd been here before, expected a little bit more of an explanation for her to understand how things worked so I didn't have to give her the run down myself. That didn't happen and we were left with questions as I was unsure of a few things. The food was great as usual, we had the four course meal. There was a gentleman, maybe another server, who passed our table and asked if we were done while he began taking our broth away before allowing us to answer. We still had meat to cook and had to quickly let him know we were still working on it. He was on top of things although should've waited before trying to clear our table. We asked our server for a chocolate recommendation and it did not disappoint. Overall it was a good visit with a few negatives. I then went up to the bar and the bartender refused to even look at us. A bit later I went up to the bar again and the bartender said that he would not serve anyone in the bar. What the heck. Tried the Melting Pot Last Night. Our server Brandon was fantastic. Very patient. Explained everything. Checked in several times to make sure everything was good. I would say Brandon was the best part of our experience. 5 Stars to Brandon. The food was good, and it was avery different way of eating, I would even say it was fun. It is pricey. Total Bill with tip and 3.5% fee = $330.00 for 3 people which did include 3 adult drinks. The Restaurant is a little dirty for the prices they are charging. What I did not like is the 3.5% surcharge added, an additional fee, this is a fee that is so the business can get more money out of the customer. I agree with paying employees enough to be able to survive in Colorado, but this does not go to the employees. I would rather see the prices be raised instead of getting a additional fee. In most cases I will deduct these kind of fees from the tip, which is what a lot of people do, because the business owners state it goes to the employee, again it does not. They also claim it is because of covid, lets not forget a business like this already is or has got free money from the government to make up some of the cost of covid, which us as tax payers are paying for. This time I did not deduct it from the server, only because Brandon was great at his job and deserved a great tip. read more
