The rice dried out seemed old . the meat was almost invisible and overcooked . With prices this outrageous you would think that the meal would have been the best . We always go to Benihana for everyone's birthday dinner, it's perfect for a small family celebration type atmosphere! The hibachi chef always does really awesome designs with the food while cooking for us! We've gone there for many 21st birthdays and the chefs always provides a great time with trick shots & hat tricks with sake & food lol. We love the entertainment and the food is spectacular. Food is cooked to order so if you don't want veggies in your fried rice, let them know! The server takes your order to how you want specifically want it & brings out soup, salad, & refills drinks throughout the meal. Overall the food was decent however they forgot my vegetable fried rice and there were no chopsticks even though we ordered sushi. The veggies and chicken fried rice were good but the chicken and shrimp had no seasoning and there were way too many onions. The sushi roll was good but a little dry with the tempura crumbles. This location is an excellent representation of this classic Japanese restaurant chain. Upstairs they have plenty of hibachi grills for seating people and larger parties. Downstairs there is seating if you are just interested in ordering off the menu. I sat downstairs with my daughter and boyfriend. We ordered drinks, sushi, and a tofu stir fry dish. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The stir fry dish was also well done. The stir fry was a little spicy for my daughter ... and a 5 or 6 on my personal spice 10 point scale. The ambiance and decor were perfectly suited to this style of restaurant. There we a big open staircase leading to the upstairs dining & hibachi tables that were right out of the '60s or '70s, when Benihana got their start. On my visit our service was exceptional. We get to the place the wait wasn't that long. We ushered to our table with other guests. We chose the hibachi. The server was nice but I felt our meal time was rushed a bit. We chose the 4 course meal therfore it includes the desert. The hibachi chef was very entertaining. He kept us laughing and talkative. I believe his name was Francisco. Very lively gentleman. As we were ending our meal, I noticed we didn't receive our dessert. The server came by to thank us for the evening without presenting the dessert to us. One of the guests had to remind her of the dessert that we were supposed to have. The food was good but not as good as I remember. The server was ok but nothing spectacular about that. I was looking forward to going here as I always heard that Benihana was a great spot to go to. Now, I've gone to my fare share of habachi steakhouses and had a good idea of what to expect. Let's start off with the pros. 1)The hostess station when you first walked in was very welcoming! The girls working the front were very warm and accommodating. 2)Our sushi chef was extremely pleasant and cooked the food very well. 3)That's it for pros. Con(s) 1)This place is in desperate need of a serious deep clean and all new carpets. We had a drink downstairs while we waited for our table (we had a 5:30pm rez as we were going to a movie at 7:30). The downstairs bar/restaurant was absolutely filthy. 2)We proceeded to go up to our table and the only thing I could notice was how gross the carpets were, this is not the first thing you want to see walking up the stairs to have dinner. And I don't just mean old, they were literally filthy and look like they have never, ever been cleaned. 3)We sat down at the habachi table, the grill was very dirty with food particles on it from the last cook. 4)The chef did "clean" the grill before he started cooking but it wasn't a good look to leave a dirty grill for patrons to see before they eat. All in all- the only reason I gave this 2 stars is for the chef and the hostess. The food was fine for what it was but seriously, this place needs to be cleaned in the worst way. read more
