I really wanted to give this place higher reviews because the servers seem nice. However there were a few too many things that prohibited me from doing so. First, the margarita (mixer perhaps?) seemed stale or otherwise had a bland flavor to it. Secondly, the food itself was somewhat disappointing. I ordered the enchiladas con mole verde/suiza and it tasted akin to what you'd expect reheated or a frozen meal would taste like. The service was extremely slow. Came on a Monday (of the freeze) and this place was somewhat busy considering nearly every other shop of magnolia was closed (but not packed). And it took nearly 30-40 mins for the server to check back in with me after I finished everything just to wait for a togo box/check out. This is after me flagging them down twice. Def what bumped this from a 3 to 2 stars for me. Even more, they incorrectly charged me for an extra marg...

I really wanted to like this place but it was such a mixed bag. The chips and salsa were yummy, I give them that but the tortilla soup was no good. It tasted like the tortilla pieces were fried in old oil and it permeated in the tomato broth. The steak fajita were tough and it came with only onion & a couple of hunks of tomato; no bell pepper besides a jalapeño. Rice and beans were unremarkable.

My wife and I were in the southside area, and it was time for dinner. We were searching for somewhere to stop in for dinner. We hadn't been to Benito's in a long, long time, so we decided to stop in. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately, there was no wait. Benito's has a MASSIVE menu with SO many options to choose from. My wife is more of a TexMex kind of a gal, versus the more authentic cuisine of Mexico. I'm always adventurous and love trying new and different foods. Benito's has awesome chips and salsa. It was hard to stop eating and dipping the chips. My wife decided on the Chicken Fajita Nachos, and I decided on the Combo #9 which included a cheese chili relleno, chicken flauta and tostada. After a short wait, our platters were delivered to our table. One suggestion I'd like to see are bigger plates. My Combo #9 items were kind of piled on each other, especially the flauta and tostada. Everything was good and served piping hot. My wife enjoyed her fajita chicken nachos.

I've passed by Benito's so many times but never thought anything of it? My Dad wanted Mexican food and this was the closest restaurant nearby. So, we headed there Tuesday, around 5:00 p.m. There were not too many people when we entered. There was just one rowdy family and another small family. Meanwhile, the crowd began to grow. The ambiance is beautiful! It's it's so colorful inside! It looked like Mexican blankets were used as curtains. There was a string of lights in the center of the restaurant that gave the perfect touch! The booths were a little too low and made it very difficult to get in and out. It was so uncomfortable? We had a sweet Waitress. She had a pleasant demeanor and was very helpful. She came to check on us several times. She also had a cute uniform. The uniforms are so cute. I wanna work here, just so I can wear the uniform. Lol. Now, on to the food. Lol. There are a lot of Food options. And the prices are average to high. They do have specials and depending on what time you go,you could get a deal. I decided to get the Caldo De Res to. My soup was running over my bowl. It's Mexican Beef Stew with Vegetables. It has Spanish Rice, Cabbage, Zucchini , Squash, and Beef Tips. The Broth was flavorful and Salty. It also includes Tortillas of your choice. I chose Corn Tortillas. The Corn Tortillas were warm and very thin. I really enjoyed them though. As, I ate my Beef stew, I kept saying mmmm several times. Lol. If, you're ever on West Magnolia and are craving some Mexican food, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Ignore the other bad reviews about this place. The service was pleasant, the food was so delicious and the ambiance was beautiful! You will love the bold colors and rustic furniture.

    Margaritas on the rocks

Margaritas are great here, plus the chile rellenos and fajitas were delicious. Cute décor. Our server Blanca was super sweet, attentive, and helpful explaining a couple things.

I'm originally from San Antonio and I have lived in Dallas for the last 30 years but recently moved to Fort Worth , so compared to all the Mexican restaurants I have tried in north Texas this is my go to place. It's nothing fancy but for traditional Mexican dishes you can't beat the taste and they have unbelievable prices. (Pork in green sauce) but the taste was amazing, Like my grandmother made it.

I came here for tacos, not a wheel clamp. The food was decent, but apparently the restaurant has a side hustle in the boot rental business. Nothing like finishing your burrito only to find your car wearing a new piece of Mexican street jewelry.

This was my first time at Benito's and I will most definitely be back! I had a large bowl of Pozole and it was one of the best I have had in FTW. We also ordered the Combination #2 plate that had a soft taco, enchilada and a tostada. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was super friendly and bubbly. We went on a Friday around 3:30, couldn't believe the place was empty (there were maybe three other tables there). It was quiet, and the whole restaurant is decorated super cute!! 10/10 recommend this place, can't wait to go back!

What is not to love? As we're celebrating our 55th anniversary this month we were presented with a lovely, complementary sparkly rose. As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.

Servers provided a great experience aside from a bunch of flies (ate outside on the patio and were waving at flys most of the night). Three stars for the prices. We are an entirely vegetarian meal with no alcohol and paid $400 for a party of six...and we were sharing (yes, you read that correctly). $13 for a side of Mexican rice. $18 for essentially a side mashed potatoes. $16 for grilled vegetables. And the portions were SMALL. We were sharing across four adults and three kids and everyone only ended up getting a tiny amount. It was really difficult believing we were receiving any real value...it felt like the Don and figured out how to have unsuspecting guests pay double! It to say this isn't a legit high-end Mexican restaurant, it is. But I would more realistically describe it as a high-end steak house with wrap-around Mexican dishes (which explains why the side prices were so extreme). Kids quesadillas with steak were $17 a piece with no sides other than potato chips (a little odd given the context). Anyway, I'll end it where I began...food was good, servers were great...but just not worth the price. If the bill had been half or the portions were larger, it would have felt like we were actually getting value for our money.

I ordered take out and sat at the bar while I waited for my entree.Ordered two drinks while I waited, got the one at the top of the menu and a skinny margarita and they tasted exactly the same ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ they got the job done and were fine. Food: I got the enchiladas three ways with steak. You can take the regular three sauces or choose just one if you'd like. Green sauce is the best, white sauce is pretty good, and the red mole is fine but I wish I would have swapped it out with the spicy almost (orange) sauce that comes with the seafood enchiladas. That sauce looks so good! My partner did not like the red sauce at all, again I thought it was fine just not amazing like the other two. Beans and rice are good, nothing special. Nothing wrong with the chips and salsa just run of the mill. Other thoughts: I wish I had just ate my food at the bar instead of ordering take out. Bar seats are comfortable, views of a tv for anyone sitting at the bar, and it's just a nice comfortable atmosphere in there. The hostess and bar tenders I interacted with provided great service.

They're your typical trendy taco place, with their own selection of merchandise and crazy/cheesy jokes strewn about on t-shirts and signage. They have an ample bar space, but it looked like only one patron was interested in that; the rest of us were there to eat. You order your food at the counter and get a buzzer to come back and pick it up. The staff is friendly enough, but you don't really interact with them much since it's all pretty much self service after you go to the counter. The drink station has cane sugar based sodas; it's a bit heavy on the foam, but otherwise good. We opted for the birria pizza, a couple of cups of pozole, and a side of elote. Everything was solid. The elote was good, not great, but the pozole really hit the spot given how cold it was outside. The birria pizza is what blew me away, though. This was easily one of the most unique, but tasty, things I've ever had. It's not really a pizza, more like a topped quesadilla, but they did a great job of it. I'd not only come back here next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'd be interested in opening a location in Houston if I had the money to franchise it.
